Comfy setting. Excellent flavors. Great service. I got the meal set with natto tofu and it was yummy.

人気店であっという間に満席になりますので、早めの時間に予約されることをおすすめします。
料理は小皿ででてきます。量は少なめですが、色々と試すことができます。
小皿料理はすべておかずになり、白ご飯がめちゃくちゃすすみます。
ママさんはじめ、スタッフの皆さんお肌がとてもきれいでした。
お店もすごくきれいにされていて、気持ちよく食事できました。
喫煙OKなので、愛煙家の方も楽しめます。

This place was amazing! The food was so delicious and reasonably priced! It might be a little difficult for non basic Japanese speakers but other than that, highly recommend! Also not sure why no one was there for lunch time, maybe very popular during dinner!
At night there are not mnay restaurants remain open. This is one restaurant opens at night near JR Saga. Nice Japanese food. Allowed credit card payment as well
Having lunch here before the romantic train. Not really fantastic but to fill-up tummy.
Food was ok but small portion. Beef in the soup was just sad. There’s not much to it very plain. I tasted much better soba from street vender and charge 1/3 price. For the price they are charging is not worth in Japan standard.
Excellent quaint little diner. Service here is excellent and food was really good and reasonably priced. We were looking for food around the Kimono forest area, but they were all closed or refused to sit us as it was too late. I recommend coming here after your Hozugawa boat ride (10-15 min walk from the Landing point) or after visiting the Kimono forest as it’s really near the JR Line
Perspective of a foreigner living in Japan. I visited around 2pm on a weekday. There were 5 customers including me. It took a bit long for the food to come out. I am a meat eater and I don't like pickled food that much. I did not do my research and come here to find out that there are only 3-4 choices on the menu. I order the one with 8 selections of fermented food. It was better than I expected but not excellent. Would say Ok. The staff seems a bit confused and inexperienced for some reason although I speak Japanese fluently. This can be a hit or miss so I cannot recommend this place.
If you are a tourist and want to try only fermented food maybe this is the good one for you.
I just try to avoid the crowd and come here by chance.

The wagyu beef udon and Katsu don were both super good! The family that runs the business is super friendly as well. Very conveniently located to the train station as well.
Close to the most famous shrine of Kyoto, this restaurant gives a very family restaurant vibe with great food, cheap prices and quick service.
Grilled wagyu beef is super delicious! The place feels cozy, it may look small at first but every table is big and has enough space for sitting customers. The girls serving food and drinks are kind and friendly. The location is rather close to the JR station. If I by any chance visit saga-arashiyama station in Japan, will def go there to eat again.
Waitress was very helpful when trying to remove meat from the order. More places like this and Japan could be viable for vegetarians
Very tasty soba noodle with preserved fish on top, a popular dish in the region apparently. The dish is 980yen per bowl. The soup is clear yet deep in flavour with a slight kick of smokiness. Really loved it. There's also some bbq grill of pigeons which we didn't try but looked amazing.
We had the Udon,woth Wagyu Beef. It was amazing. The best Udon I had so far.

Food tastes less than average, prices are up to the higher end.

Great food with a nice atmosphere. Plenty of space inside. The owner was very sweet to us with our toddler. The taste of the food was far better than the price would suggest.
Nice Place to Eat, cheap, delicious, yet friendly atmosphere of the staff, english available menu, trully a hidden gem worth visiting before/after visiting Inari Taisha.

Amazing food! So much work, knowledge and effort goes into fermented foods. The prices are so affordable and what you get would be served for ten times the price in Europe. Very memorable meal. There is also a little shop with fermented food and sets if you go up next door!

After visiting Fushimi Inari, dropped by here for a good lunch served by friendly and helpful people. Food is not expensive and they taste great.
韓国料理が食べたくなりお昼のランチで妻とお邪魔しました。２人とも大好きなビビンバを定食で、スープはちょっとからめユッケジャンと食べてみたかった肉すいをシェア。どっちもお豆腐入ってます。ビビンバは具だくさんであま辛。卓上コンロで熱々のスープはテーブルにある、にらが入ったお醤油みたいなのや七味をいれて味の変化を楽しめます。私はといいますと肉すいに辛すぎない七味が抜群の相性で、ついつい入れすぎ、固まりを飲んで思いっきりむせてしまいました（やばいビールがすすんじゃう！）。あるあるらしいんでお気を付けくださいね。

I got their plain Soba, inari, and Sippoku Udon. All in all, a good, cheap place to get your noodle fix. Mushroom from their Sippoku Udon was an absolute banger, a flavour explosion. The inari sushi was delicious, sweet beancurd skin, slightly sour vinegar rice, roasted sesame seeds within.

After a big walk through the tori gates nothing was opened except for this cosy restaurant. We ordered the chicken rice, it was just what we needed! Great comfort food.

韓国料理のお店。スープの種類が6つ、麺の種類が2つあり。スープセットは6種のうち一つを選択できご飯とおかずがつきます。ピビンバセットはピビンバとスープか麺類のいずれか一つを選択します。ユッケジャンは辛さもほどよい辛さで味も満足でした。ピビンパセットは麺類とセットにするとボリュームがあります。ガッツリ食べたいならピビンパセットで冷麺です。あとキンパセットもあります。どれもお勧めです。
After walking for 2-3 hours in the Inari shrine without water in 30 degree weather, these old ladies served us the best bowl of beef udon soup i've ever eaten. i'm still crying.
When you're at Fushimi-inari/senbon-inari and you mysteriously feel the need for kitsunedon and inarizushi, this is where you go.
Four people can eat (including beer) for about $75 US and be out the door in under 45 minutes.
The service is fast--the staff is cranking the stuff out for an army of tourists all day every day--and the food is exactly what you want.

The Unagiteishoku (eel meal set) was incredibly good. It might be a bit pricey but it was worth it.

Awesome little restaurant where you can taste the extent of Japanese fermentation. We had a very tasteful lunch, full of new flavors! You need to be prepared for strong taste, but then it's a real pleasure. And don't hesitate to try the natto, once with their home sauce, it's delicious (it was our first time, and passed the initial surprise, we loved it!). It is mostly vegetarian, which is even better!

So we were hungry, cold and wet and wanted some respite from the rain and to feed our hungry stomachs.
You enter into a lovely homey place where it invites you to sit down and enjoy some home cooked food.
You won' be disappointed, the Ramen was delicious and we were full and ready to walk another 20kms.
Recommendation
Well worth the visit and they have to best prices in the area starting at 550 yen.

Incredible meal for an adventurous palate. They have English menus, and our server was patient with my Japanenglish- in fact, she was SUPER sweet. My husband isn't a fan of fermented foods, and even he is still raving about this meal a year later. Absolute best meal we had the entire time we were in Japan, and we are foodies. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who is in Kyoto.
I tried once with my family and since that day we repeated all the time we was at Kioto, we tried differents meals and all were great
Really fantastic meal. Authentic, reasonable price and hearty. It seemed to be filled with business men eating dinner after work and so I knew I was in a good restaurant.
Certainly one of the best restaurants we have been to in Japan. Unassuming but wonderful. Rich variety of fermented foods, Delicious fresh sake. Fermented tofu that tastes like Foie Gras (we are French). And all that for rock bottom prices with great service ! Will return as soon as we are back in Kyoto.
