I would like to thank all the staff of HQ for their excellent service. Elliot, Alyssa, Lindsay, Keshy and ate phlebotomist (I forgot to ask her name) were all very accommodating and welcoming. I’m glad I went to this place that I just searched online. This was an amazing and safe place for the LGBT community. I will recommend this place to all my friends.

So impressed with this place. Friendly and professional staff. Fast service. The clinic is so clean and stylish. If I could give it more stars I would.

Yes he’s a guy 1st of all you need to be be more respectful when assuming someone’s gender.

You can’t please everyone, medical receptionist see hundreds of patients & clients per day, their jobs is not as easy as most may think, they deal with real life situations while making sure everyone gets the care they deserve. Saying someone is unfriendly because they aren’t what you “expect” from them just doesn’t make sense to me.

I’ve been to HQ before, like all clinics they has a system, we can’t just walk into facilities trying to tell people how to do their job, he’s not the one who invented the system obviously. If your complaint is about a numbering system then maybe you could suggest that , I’m sure they would value your feedback for what it is.

You also mentioned that they made sure you’re gay or no binary, the clinic from my experience and understanding is designed for a specific group of people, and he’s only doing his job as he was told. If you think it’s discriminatory maybe you should just walk into a regular clinic where no one understand your sexuality aka health care workers who seems to have little to no knowledge on gay men’s sexual practices.

If you’re walking into any health care facilities in Ontario not expecting to wait then you’re probably dreaming, I also don’t think medical receptionists keeps a time log, if they mentioned it’s gonna be a long wait then take their word, they are the ones running the clinic flow. And if you said thank you and left they are not obligated to apologize to you l, the other clients may have come from near and far but they made the time and effort, what made you think you shouldn’t wait? If you aren’t able to wait then you should go to the clinic when you have time to wait. It’s that simple, stop trying to make health care workers lives a living hell, it’s already hard on them giving the previous year they just had. Be more respectful if you’re hoping for someone to respect you.

whoever you are I think you’re just looking for too much from this one guy who seems to have better things to do and for patients who needs the service more then you do. Be blessed !

Guy (I presume) at the front desk was unfriendly and very ‘generic’. Asked it it was a first time visit and was told to sit down and wait. Other people came in afterwards and it got confusing who he was calling. Maybe have numbers? After that waste of time he made sure I was gay or non binary or whatever (which I find discriminatory even tho I’m gay). I then asked what the wait is like before proceeding. He said it would be a very long time. I said thanks and left. No ‘I’m sorry about the wait or anything’. I’m not coming back here when I can walk into an MCI doctors office clinic and be treated very nicely. Good luck to anyone that visits.

This place turned me away because I wasn't gay. They asked me my sexual preference and if I was LGBTQ, like it's any of their business. I think HIV testing should be for everyone, to keep the community safe and to help prevent the spread of STDs.

The clinic is big, clean and accommodating. The doctor, plebotomist, receptionist and volunteers were kind and knowledgeable of what their doing. Their advanced using high technology to assist clients. They refer you to a good pharmacy for free and on time for your next follow up and medical results

Going here felt like going to St.Michael's hospital post-pandemic. Everyone I spoke with from the person on the phone to the receptionist was cold and unfriendly, but the psychiatrist I saw was the ultimate and unfortunate cake-topper and I don't think I will be following up on or coming back here ever again. Mind you, this was my first ever experience here, and I was excited to try a different place after previous ones didn't work out.

The entire psychiatry appointment, this supposed professional continuously cut me off whenever I was trying to explain something or talk about my feelings and experiences. He would latch onto words and claim I used them too often when I didn't even recall it being the case, trying to gaslight me into agreeing with him and leaving me confused. When I mentioned past experiences and behaviors, he treated it as if those things were still present to this day.

But even worse, he constantly compared me to his other patients and seemed to be going off of a checklist in his mind. I had made a mistake of mentioning a diagnosis another place had given me, and once he knew, that was it. He wasn't interested in hearing anything else I had to say, he just wanted to condemn me to that diagnosis and go off of his checklist. Nothing I said mattered anymore.

When I told him I struggled to understand myself and other people, he flat out told me that no one could help me with that. I already believe this to be true as someone with little to no hope left in their life, but to have a supposed mental health professional put the final nail in the coffin was abysmal.

I dissociated and said whatever I had to in order to leave right after that. I think he noticed and when I made a movement to scratch myself because I was itchy, he jumped as if I was going to attack him. When I was leaving, I looked back and saw him shaking his head as if I was an exhausting patient when I was nothing but kind, patient when he left the room, and answered his questions. I couldn't believe I was being discriminated against for a supposed diagnosis he'd convinced himself of as well, on top of everything else.

Other than the one program I was sent there to try, the psychiatrist didn't offer or suggest anything else at this place that I could do. So I have no clue what else this place has to offer. Sadly this experience was so alienating and negative that I don't want to, and I don't suggest anyone else do either. Especially if Dr. Alan Wai is still there.

The staff were friendly and supportive. It's great that a place like this exists in the Downtown Toronto core offering a wide variety of services. Also can't go without saying that the space is designed and furnished with very sleek modern decor and art, makes for a very comfortable environment all around.
