Great Services
My asthma nebulizer broke Saturday. Ordered another one from Amazon but the mail didn't get here today (no delivery at all). Apothecary near me says I need a prescription for the nebulizer which is bogus but I call Temple here to make an appointment (I hadn't had one in a while but have been seen by other docs), and to ask them to call the apothecary, and they refuse, leaving me with very litle medicine in my inhaler and without a lifeline that is my nebulizer. You suck, Temple.
I was directed to this number for scheduling hormone replacement therapy as part of my MTF transition. I called today - 11/21/2022 - and after explaining my circumstance where my information in the Temple Health system was under my birth name which differs from the name I'm using now, I was told that my appointment request could not be found, and the person who answered my call referred to me by my birth name as well as "sir" twice, all were after it was clearly communicated that I'm not the type of person who wants to be referred to as "sir."

Maybe it was ignorance, maybe it was malice. Hopefully it's just one receptionist, because however you slice it it was discouraging. Your treatment plans can be perfect but it doesn't mean a thing if patients can't trust that the first point of contact with Temple Health won't be someone who's wielding that power to exclude trans people from gender affirming care.

Again, I don't know that that was exactly the case, but given how the call played out I simply cannot trust that it WASN'T the case. And for a provider of gender affirming care, it's simply unacceptable for your first point of contact with prospective patients to be either extremely ignorant or dismissive of trans people.
I just called to get my Medical Marijuana card renewed and they gave me a price of $199.99 and I told him someone else gave me a cheaper price and he just hung up on me!! So rude!!!!

To preface, I’m a very healthy young adult. I went here for the first time in February for a check up and it was fine. I was assigned to a med student. It was very clear that they don’t believe in preventative medicine. They don’t care to make you healthy, to encourage a healthy lifestyle. They want patients with problems they can treat and charge your insurance for. I was bummed after going there, but whatever.

In October, I called to ask for a refill of a mild prescription I’ve been taking for years. No answer. Called the front desk for an appointment with my doctor (even though it’s not really necessary for such a mild, regular prescription). They said my doctor was unavailable for the next month, and they couldn’t give me a new one unless it was an absolute emergency.
I left SEVERAL messages for the nurse over the course of two months. Maybe two messages a week. No return call ever. One time I managed to get ahold of the nurse. She said the doctor denied my prescription and wanted a virtual doctors visit, but the doctor wasn’t available for an appointment and didn’t know when she would be. So I was left with no alternative. After two months, I finally got my prescription once my doctor agreed to a basic check up via phone, all she did was ask how I’ve been feeling, and it was just a few minutes long. Easy. They just wanted to be able to bill my insurance for a visit.

Well, since they couldn’t return my phone call, or meet with me, or just give me my very simple prescription for those two months, I ended up getting very sick. I ended up having to seek emergency medical treatment at a different hospital and it was an extremely traumatizing experience.

Temple IM showed me how corrupt the healthcare industry is. How it’s all about the money, all the time.
If you’re thinking about coming here for general medical care and your yearly wellness checkups, please take the time to read this!

I decided to give Temple General Internal Medicine a chance because I graduated a few years ago from Temple University and am now working in the city, but still live in the area. I had recently gotten new health insurance and needed a new primary care doctor. One of the close accepted providers was Temple General Internal Medicine, it’s about a 5 minute drive from my apartment, so I figured why not give it a try. I hadn’t had my “yearly” check up with a primary care doctor in a few years so I was due. I called and made an appointment and made sure to specifically say several times that this was a “wellness checkup.” I went in, check in was easy, the nurse who takes your initial measurements and what not was great. I ended up getting a female med student, instead of an official practicing doctor, which I was okay with. Since I was considered a new patient, she went over everything with my family history, things I was allergic to, making sure all shots were updated, etc. At the end she asked if I had any other questions. First I told her about what I’ve been doing the past year to lose weight (I was down 15 pounds) and wanted to make sure I was doing the right things, to which she pretty much agreed I was doing all the right, healthy things to lose weight, which was great. Then I asked her if she could check my ears, because I tend to get wax buildup every so often which affects my hearing. I was thinking she would just look in my ears and give me a simple yes or no. She ended up bringing in the lead Physician on duty (who was in charge of making sure the med students were doing everything right). The lead Physician then went over how to check my ears and they both agreed that I should probably see a specialist in the city to get it cleaned out. Then the lead doctor mentioned they could try to clean it themselves and recommended doing that. They both seemed like the really wanted to help so I let them, it was also a learning experience for the med student. It didn’t end up working so I went to a specialist afterwards. I got my receipt and left.

3 months later I got a bill in the mail from them. They ended up not sending it to my insurance as a “wellness visit,” but sent it as a “regular visit.” So they basically charged me for asking questions that I’ve always been able to ask my primary care doctor at my yearly checkup. I feel as a patient that I was taken advantage of, the lead Physician could have said at any time that this would be a charge to look in my ears or talk about my weight (which I talked about for literally a minute). She could have mentioned before they answered any simple questions that they then would not consider it a “wellness check up” any longer.

I tried to call and talk to someone to discuss the claim that was put into my insurance. I was sent to the “nurses line” and every time I had to leave a message and was told I’d receive a call within 24 hours. They never called me back. No one would help me, I couldn’t even reach a supervisor to discuss this. Billing couldn’t help either, because they can’t change the codes the doctor sent into insurance.

This charge put me in a financial bind, that not only was it during the COVID pandemic but also during the holiday season. Please think twice before you go here.

I have been trying to get a formed filled out by the doctor and faxed back over for my home healthcare. It took 3 months of calling and leaving numerous mesages on everline I could. I never recieved a call back. The form finally got filled out 4 months later by a doctor i never seen before due to me having an app. And after all that he did not fill the form out correctly so I am right back where I started No one there including the doctors know how to do their job. I can not even get a call back for an emergency app.HORRIBLE HORRIBLE Practice please DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME with this place.

Noce
You have a extremely long wait, before you are seen. The staff spend most of their time talking to each other. When the older Dr. Ommen was there, the place ran very very smooth. The turn over of workers are a lot, most of them being young women. I got very disgusted very time I went there. So I started going to another doctor. Good luck when you go there.

I seriously don't recommend this doctors office everybody is very unprofessional and they think every patient is illiterate can't read and write and is either on drugs or homeless if not both.I have never been to a doctors office so poorly managed ever before.
I have sent this place numerous faxes and the doctor refuse to do her part and not answer the questions. I sent her at the patient portal. This is very horrible and when they send you to a different doctor they ask you if you know the doctor personally. My question do the doctor know you personally. If they do there job and not make things hard on the patient and fill out what they should do.
Very poor service doctor takes forever to see patients

Appointment was at 3:15. It was 4:56 when I was called back.
The most unorganized Healthcare Institution I’ve ever seen!! Every call I make I get transferred to multiple places just to be transferred again! DO NOT RECOMMEND!!
