Lots of trains and well decorated for the holidays. The volunteer was helpful and offered to let the kids pull the horn.
Very knowledgeable staff, super engaging and fun to learn with. Great museum pieces that tell some good stories of the states history and people. Who doesn't love a train?!
Small museum; but with a lot of interesting information. No entrance fee. Children get a punched railroad "ticket" when visiting.
Very nice, clean town with lots of small town shopping.
Wow!!! To think ladies had so much to do with the success of this railroad company. It's a must see.
Great location for the kids to explore and step on to a real train. The staff was fabulous and so patient with the kids. I would recommend stopping in Oakland MD and going to the museum.
Really cool spot and must-stop location if you have train fans in your family. You can go into the historic locomotive and it’s such a cool piece of rail history. Highly recommend.
A lot of interesting history and we enjoyed the guided tour. A lot of interesting artifacts and some model trains, as well. You can see where the bridge used to connect the station to the old Oakland Hotel.
Not open when we visited, but it was lovely to visit anyway. There is a large locomotive, another car, and a caboose with lights on the fronts glowing. These sit in the front of the charming historic train station having beautiful classic features and great for photographing.
It appears that periodically there are events...possibly musical entertainment on a stage built onto the front of a 'freight car' library. There is a small scale train track which I guess offers kids rides on a model train at certain times of the year. Directly across the street is the Motor Museum... check both out when you visit!
