Mum was at Charnley House for nearly 5 years, before she died from Alzheimer's last September. Her care was not always perfect - being threatened by one manager early on that Mum's agitation would lead to her being "put in a unit" was not good & I very nearly moved her...but - the things I could pick on were nothing compared to the kindness and real care she received. Many of the staff have been there a long time, which is a good sign, but like nearly all of them, the new staff were also highly professional, really pleasant and caring & obviously dedicated. Some staff went above and beyond with Mum & I felt they knew and valued Mum as she was, whereas I was always missing her as she had been. So thankyou, again, to the carers - you couldn't pay them enough, but they deserve so much more.

Only gave 1* as you can’t give none . Absolutely disgusted with this establishment and how they treated my Dad . He was only there an hour !! Made no attempt to settle him in . Discussed his needs infront of him . Which got him agitated. Obviously it’s a care home only for very calm patients!! They rang me to go and get him and were rude on the phone . No care involved !! We even picked him up and the other staff didn’t even know why , walked out and were not even spoken to . Avoid this Home at all costs . Not fit for purpose . We have complained to social services, the home inspector and the CQC . Please don’t take your poor relatives here .

Nice place. Only been once to view and staff and residents appear happy and looked after.
