Loved this rooftop bar with delicious food!! Must try the fried chicken. Mouthwatering and so juicy!! I also would come back just for the tuna tartar. So bright so fresh and perfect for a warm day on the roof. One of the best rooftop bars in the city in my opinion
Rise Over Run delivers an unforgettable rooftop experience that transcends expectations. Celebrating my birthday there was a stroke of brilliance, as every aspect of the venue exudes class and charm. The atmosphere pulsates with energy, thanks to the DJ spinning great tunes, fire pits casting a warm glow, and plush booths and couches inviting relaxation. With a panoramic view of the city skyline, it's a feast for the eyes. Despite the chill as the sun set, the abundance of heaters ensured cozy comfort throughout the evening. As for the food, it's a culinary adventure. The fried chicken, served in a whimsical gold bird cage, stole the show with its uniquely delicious flavor. Rise Over Run isn't just a rooftop bar and restaurant; it's a destination where every detail is designed to elevate your experience.
Shared a meal here with friends before a Bay Cruise and was more than satisfied with the lovely waitress and the easy-going vibe of the place. They were kind enough to put the basketball game we requested. Will be happy to return with other friends sooner than later.
Got to be one of the best cocktail spots in SF. It’s tiny though! We went on a week night and managed to get a seat.
Veg food was decent. We sat outside in front of the fireplace, and between that and the space heaters we were quite comfy.
The first place we ate at on our visit to San Francisco! A nice chilled vibe with sport on the TV and friendly service. The food and the beer were great too! What more do you want?!

They were trying to fit as many people as they could in doors, because it was raining, but there were open seats at better tables that they could've directed us towards. Portions small for the prices. Come for the views/vibe when it's not raining.

Lovely rooftop bar opposite Oracle Stadium. Great view of SF skyline and Bay Bridge. Poke bowl was delicious! Good selection of wine.

Up to this point this might be my favorite bar in the city. I appreciated the laid back atmosphere, the delicious hot apple cider with brandy, the cozy seating, and the music. Like where the heck else can you find a live organist and trumpeting who absolutely wail?? Live music Thursday through Sunday, no cover charge but tips are appreciated (and very much deserved) for the musicians. Such a cool spot
Love this low key cool spot. Been coming here off and on since they opened but finally got to writing a review. Nice cocktail selection and also Chimay on tap served in a proper Chimay glass. Nightly music with no cover at the door, but they do pass a basket for donations so bring a little cash. Like I mentioned great low key vibe perfect for a first date or meeting up with a couple friends. Patio out back as well if you like the outdoors or want to grab a smoke.
When I was told we were having our company kickoff event at a restaurant in the Fairmont, the Tonga Room was about the LAST thing I was expecting ahahaha. The best comparison I could make was it was like being in line for the Pirates of the Caribbean ride at Disneyland. Tiki bar energy but a little darker.

There is unnecessarily a platform that floats out in the middle of the completely unnecessary pool, and that's where the band was playing. I was standing in the corner of the dance floor because I'm really shy and was just like is anyone else seeing this? The band is just floating out there rocking out, rattling off hit after hit after hit.
I began to realize that two unnecessary things can fuse together to become super necessary. I didn’t know how bad I needed the band on the floating platform in the pool until it was right there in front of me. I couldn’t get that Henry Ford quote out of my head “If I'd asked customers what they wanted, they would have told me, 'A faster horse!'" Big Hen might have been onto somethin…
I wasn't drinking, but I know the drinks were strong because everyone was LOADED ahahaa. Even my big homie, Big Fhim, was pretty toasted and I've never seen anyone handle their liquor like Big Fhim! As I’m sure you can imagine, Big Fhim was in the Pro-Tonga camp. Really makes you wonder.......

Unique, fun atmosphere with a menu that offers small plates to share or salad and entree options. The food leans towards American comfort dishes. There is seating at the bar, tables downstairs, and tables upstairs. The interior of the restaurant is comfortable with an inviting vibe. The noise level seemed high and made intimate duscussions difficult but fun for big, social groups. The staff were friendly and professional. The seating areas and bathrooms were clean.
My first night there I was able to enjoy a mock tail from their list of drinks. The next two days the staff preparing the drinks failed me with mocktails. The food was decent but I do wish they had more options.

I am writing this review completely understanding that we have gone through a pandemic, times are tough, and workers are overworked and underpaid. I am not meaning to get anyone in trouble or anything, but this was an absolutely awful experience.
We (my group of 4) showed up at 9:30pm on a Thursday. Wanted to grab a drink with a fun tiki vibe and checkout a place we’ve know for a long time. As we walked into the place a few guys who worked there were sitting on a bench next to the hostess station and told us to just go in. We wanted to grab a table, any table that might be available, but there were notes on each table saying to talk to a hostess (totally understandable). We walked up to the bar to ask where the hostess was because we were interested in sitting at a seat to enjoy the atmosphere. The bartender was extremely rude, accused me of arguing when I was honestly just trying to figure out how to get a seat, another bartender came to help us out while the other guy walked off. I was finally able to find the hostess who was very nice and told us about the cover for seats (which we were completely happy to pay) and we got our drinks and sat down and enjoyed the band for a few minutes before we overheard, from a server a table down, that last call was happening. Mind you the google page says that the place closes at 10:30 (this was 9:45) and was updated by the business 2 weeks prior. They ended up pushing people out of the bar and giving out paper cups for the patrons alcoholic drinks so they could leave. There was a table two tables down that had just received their drinks and had to put them in paper cups before being harassed to leave.
I have to say, it takes either a very good experience or and extremely unpleasant experience for me to review a place and I felt so strongly about this experience that I am reviewing as soon as I got home.

Eclectic neighborhood bar with reasonably priced drinks and live music, including an organ! They now accept credit card.
Little cozy bar that was right around the corner from our hotel. We went there on nye for countdown. We wanted to go to rooftop bars but they were all booked out. This place was not too crazy crowded which was good.
Pricing was also good too except the one shot of straight whiskey that I chose from the shelf. Couldn’t believe that only 1-1.5oz costed 60usd before tax!!! I recommend asking the price if yoy are to have whiskey.

This is an amazing neighborhood bar. The service is always great and the bartenders are knowledgeable about their signature drinks and are ready to modify if needed to match your tastes.
At the end of the bar, they often have live music from local musicians. The patio in the back is eclectic and fun. There's plenty of seating and they always decorate for the season. There's sometimes seating out front where you can bring your own food and have their drinks.

Best bar in the city. Live hammond organ 4 nights/week with no cover. Top notch cocktails. Dim lighting and a back porch. Tell me what else u need!
We come to SF alot and happened upon the Last Drop Tavern a few years ago. Pla, and all the servers are super friendly and the food has always been top notch. We have come back with friends several times, and it is always great. They play fun music, have the sports games on, and had fun holiday specialty drinks as well. I highly recommend it as a great place for a drink and/or a meal.
The cocktails were impressive. The bartender was nice and even replaced one after finding out I didn’t enjoy it that much, he also shared his experience and recommended me other bars and books I can read. We definitely need more creative bars like this.
Nice rooftop location with cool views. Food was very average. Got the secret Korean friend chicken that supposed to made with hot spice and spicy garlic cream. However it was literally flavorless. Fries disco style were literally microwave fried with cheap bag cheese on it. Can’t make this up.

I've come here twice this month because of proximity to the Masonic. Most everything is delicious! The only miss was the bacon jam burger, which we did not find to be very exciting. Everything else was absolutely delicious. The crispy fried chicken is one of the best I've ever had in my life!!! The chickpea meatballs are also wonderful, as is the bacon mac and cheese. And our dessert, the bread pudding, omg!! Service was warm, friendly and attentive. And prices are reasonable for that location. I highly recommend this place for any reason, and especially if you're going to a show at the Masonic.

This is a fun place to eat. Now they have a hamburger and chicken sandwich. If you are stuck get the chicken it was smashingly good and if you really want the hamburger, truly get the chicken. My date had the hamburger and we both agreed I had the better dish. The garlic fries are amazing.
Great drinks and food. We walked in and sat indoors on a saturday night. It was pretty cold and we sat next to a door that slammed shut as staff came in from tables outside. Would probably be worth making a reservation for a seat with a heater and a view.
It was after midnight, I was full of employee holiday party booze, and the hotel they booked for us stopped room service at 11. I was tipsy, hungry, and the hills of SF were making my legs tired and feet sore.
I found this cozy little place with plenty of room to sit with some of the best fish tacos I have had. We did the mixology session as a team building activity. It was great. Mark, our bartender/teacher was great. We had so much fun and learned a lot about mixing ingredients and alcohol. Highly recommend.
I really liked this place. The ambience alone was above and beyond expectations. The whole place was vibrant and full of tropical detail. Food and drink wise, it’s pricey but you’re paying for the experience. I loved my Wiki Wiki drink and my main entree was good. Will be coming back to listen to more of the band that plays on a boat in the middle of the pool. Great place to come with a group of friends or dinner date.
One of the big 3 most notable tiki bars in SF. Tonga room is by far the most family friendly. Offering options for dinner and a bar in a very large space. Most notably is the live music played from the boat in the middle of a former swimming pool. If you loved the pirates of the Caribbean restaurant in Disney, you will love the Tonga room. Would give it a high score on the atmosphere and the drinks were solid aside from the price.
I would have happily rated this bar a 5 but the "all gender" toilets let it down. Urine all over the floor. Maybe we were sitting too close to the restrooms but this really needs addressing.

Highly recommended. I search for a dinner and walk myself to this. The salmon is very crispy and tasty, the service is better than expected, I don't remember the name of the girl who served me, but she is very friendly and lovely. The asmosphere is a good combination of good dining restaurant and bar. Love to come here when I visit San Francisco next time.

Excellent variety of tropical drinks, fun tiki room style ambiance. The music is pure cheese but after a few drinks it’s tolerable. Solid service.
P.S. Fair warning, if you jump in the pool it’s a $1K fine. Enough people have done it apparently for this drastic measure to be in place 🤷♂️🤷♂️

We went there after a day tour where our guide recommended this place, and also because they close late.
The service was really fast and nice, the place is small and kind of cozy.
The portion of the food comes big, so we ended up boxing our leftovers for later because we didn’t anticipate how big it was going to be.
The menu does not have that many options but the food was good.
It’s a great choice for a late dinner and a few drinks.

Great ambience, great service and really great food! There isn’t a whole lot on the menu, but what we sampled (which was a lot) were all super delicious. Our server was the best and super attentive. Definitely recommend!

The view, food quality, and cocktails were great. We enjoyed dinner but ordering a drink, and trying to close out was a nightmare. The host told us we had reached the time limit of our reservations and the next group needed our table. I let them know we were waiting on a drink. We had to repeat our order multiple times and when the cocktail finally arrived it was in a plastic cup. This place has so much potential but definitely understaffed

I'm a sucker for a classy, laid back cocktail bar and this place didn't disappoint. The vibe is relaxed in an upscale and elegant atmosphere. Of course the drinks were excellent, with a good range of styles and liquors. Prices are a bit high but to be expected for this area. Definitely recommend!
Nice quaint little restaurant but the food and the service were top notch. Highly recommend the steak and the crispy chicken bites. The poor servers looked pretty overwhelmed with the rush of people that came to the restaurant late like us but they did a great job.
Davide and Oscar were great hosts, we had a lovely evening especially because of them. The interiors are unique and sophisticated, on week days the atmosphere is quite intimate. I tried the Silk Degrees and I have to say it was amazing, I was afraid it was gonna be too tough because of the Black label but it was actually very smooth and rich in taste.

It was delightfully quiet on a Monday for dinner, they have a large selection of beer, the service was excellent, and the Impossible burger was tasty
An amazing place to go Rumba. The music is excellent, those guys in the band really know how to do it. The food is delicious, the service very fast. My recommendation is to go early and be patient, the line is not very long but then you have to wait for a table, I recommend it 100%, you will not regret it.
The food experience was out of this world amazing quality to the max. We had steak and chips and fish & chips unbelievably delish the guys at the kitchen are awesome. Very friendly as you walk in and get seated the waitress was great. We definitely will be back next visit to San Francisco
One of the few late spots for a quick bite in San Francisco. Food was good. I liked the angus swiss burger. The pasta was ok. The only thing I didn't like was how long it took to get the beer. The food came out first and the waitress kept forgetting.

Whether you are looking for something to follow that huge meal downstairs at China Live, or opting for a liquid meal, Cold Drinks Bar is right choice. Exceptional cocktails prepared by knowledgeable and skilled staff, and an awesome bat-themed, dimly lit, modern sort of art deco style atmosphere.
asian styled speakeasy specializing in whisky located up the elevator from china live. drinks were a hit or miss, most were too spirit forward for my liking. service was also incredibly slow and didn’t like the mandatory 20% tip. interior ambiance was nice though. overall, not worth the high price and wouldn’t go back.

Really nice, cozy, old school bar. Wonderful service amazing record collection. Early-mid [last] century blues was the flavor of the afternoon. Every beer on tap is quality. I was delighted to see my favorite, Anchor Steam, on tap. I intend to drink as much of their Anchor Steam as I can before it goes extinct.
I am so happy we picked this place as our last stop before leaving SF. I had the chicken sandwich with a side of fries and it was delicious. Perhaps the best chicken sandwich I have ever had. Bravo to the chef.

This bar is on the small so be here early if you want a spot. But the service is great. The cocktails they made were great and varied.
They boast the best burgers in San Francisco. The sandwich that I had was the salmon BLT. It had a large filet of salmon. But what it did came with rather disappointing. The seating area was too dark to read the menu. The sports bar was the entire center of the place, while the tables were surrounding the bar. Most of the tables were in poorly light booths. There was a light on the wall that was about as bright as a night light.

Look past the elephant in the room: yes this restaurant bar is around a former indoor hotel pool. But it’s fun and gives great atmosphere with the lights, intermittent showers over the pool, and live music. The cocktails were very strong which is so refreshing. Randomly came across this bar after having dinner nearby and had a great time. Live music was great and the cocktails were also delicious.

This is a small restaurant with a nice bar in the main area of the restaurant. There are some booths downstairs but also tables upstairs. The interior of the restaurant is pretty basic and due to the floor and plain walls the noise level is pretty high.
The menu is good and has many different options. We tried mussels, fried chicken, chicken wings (extremely spicy but very good), lamb rack, and the salmon. We had various beers (pretty good selection) and white and red wine (limited selection). The prices are high for this type of venue. You can find similar type food in other bars/restaurants at much better prices. However, the food was very good, and met our high expectations.

Loved this little quirky bar. It's unique without trying too hard, cozy but not uncomfortablely small. It's an intimate jazz club meets oddity shop, and makes delicious cocktails. I had the Pina colada and was pleasantly surprised that it wasn't overly sweet. Manhattan was also great, and they have a nice house cocktail list. The back patio is shaded by a lemon tree with nice lights around. I will be back!

Surprisingly good food here. Had the mussels, truffle fries, fried chicken sandwich and pork chop. Nothing absolutely blew my mind but decently priced for sf and taste wise was good. Service was attentive and the outdoor seating was comfortable. Would come back again.
The Pied Piper Lounge has a rich history within the iconic Palace Hotel, with an enormous 100+ year old painting gracing the venue and an incredible lounge area that is regal and timeless.
The food here is excellent and the drinks are great. I had the Pan Roasted Mary's Chicken Breast and the Green Goddess Refresher and I enjoyed them a lot. Definitely a place to drop by if you're in the area

Historic bar and restaurant. Located inside the Palace hotel. The restaurant itself is quite beautiful. They don't take reservations, luckily the line moves fast. We arrived around 7:30pm on a Sat night and only waited about 5min.We had the wings, Wagyu burger and cod. Wings were amazing. Both burger and cod are on the salty side. Even the pre-dinner chips were quite salty.

amazing drinks! the cocktail i got came with a shortbread cookie made by the pastry chefs at night bird. even the cookie was top tier. loved the unique glasses for each drink. tiny bar, good for talking to one person, only standing room.
Love that place. I discovered this place by pure coincidence. We were having dinner at China live and the cocktails were fantastic, the server told is to check out upstairs and the rest is history.

We went here for a private event. The service was fantastic, and the drinks were very good. The food was a bit disappointing though. But I would recommend this for an event if you need space.
Over 300 whiskeys on their menu. Also offer pre select flights. Had a chance to try: Silk degrees, Sometimes old fashioned, Oaxacan princess, & Summer time. A great experience with really good cocktails? Definitely recommend it.
Great food! They don’t accept reservations, so if you plan to dine there make sure you’re early to have a seats. They have functions ongoing during our stays in the hotel. So it’s crowded most of the time.
Located in the Palace Hotel and visited here while staying at the Ritz-Carlton Club on Market, which is right across the street. My experience began with Norman, the Doorman, who was extremly courteous and helpful. Such interesting history associated with the hotel and the Pied Piper Lounge. The painting, which also bears its name, is the focal point of the room. Service was excellent and drinks were well prepared and generous. You'll be treated to "Homemade Potato Chips" and assorted olives, both are soooo good!!!

I came by this spot while visiting the Bay Area with some friends and family on a Sunday night. After a long day of walking around and seeing the sights we decided on this joint for a low key dinner. Our sever Tully was amazing, she was knowledgeable about the menu, super responsive and was nice enough to engage with a group of punch drunk travelers who had been traversing SF hills all day. The menu was fairly diverse from pot stickers to bbq ribs but also included the staples such as burgers, salads, chicken sandwiches … etc. Our group ordered a little bit of everything; Bolognese, burgers, salads, fried chicken, pot stickers and even an impossible burger. Everyone was very impressed with their meals and couldn’t have been happier to share their thoughts, sorry Tully! This place has an unassuming charm that many may walk by, I would recommend all to stop and enjoy it like we did!
Outstanding cocktail bar with skilled mixologists. A true hidden San Francisco gem. The cocktails are well balanced, distinctive and include components devised by the chef at the adjoining Nightbird restaurant. For those with discriminating tastes and a mindful palette.
I stumbled upon this place on accident when looking for a drink on my way to another location. Ordered an heirloom tomato dish that had amazing flavors and paired with goat cheese. The tomatoes were so ripe they were just fantastic.
This place had a lot of charm and the family running it has a lot of pride in the work they are doing. I was surprised it wasn't more busy.
Felt like I found a nice hidden gem with great food options. I hope it doesn't feel as hidden in the future. I will be back next time I'm in town.

Great place to drop in after game, or just simply if you are in the area. The staff here is really friendly and Barvia has a nice atmosphere. I had some really great mixed drinks here at a solid price. Not much to say, but did certainly enjoy dropping in. Thanks!

For food - I ordered the calamari po’boy, but was eyeing the truffle ravioli. The po’boy was a good choice, coleslaw, aioli, crisp calamari - very tasty.
The burger was cooked perfectly and generous size patty. My only complaint is that it comes plain. Everything is extra, cheese $2, mushrooms $2, fries, etc, etc. Ketchup and mustard were offered, but some additional sauces would be nice as well as some specialty burger options where you don’t have to build your own.
Parking in the neighborhood is decent. Very walkable area with lots to do.
The owners are A’s fans, so a good spot to watch them, although they’ll put on something else on request.

A nice atmosphere and staff. Very good food with generous plates. They serve one of the best Crème brûlée in the States, it equals with no doubt the ones you can eat in France.
It is a good place, beers etc, what the most impressed to me was the floor, it looks like 70' bathrooms
Best date restaurant in Russian Hill. Food is consistently good. I like the fried chicken on Sundays, black truffle ravioli is exceptional, NY strip is best cut for price in neighborhood, pate is great. Soups are worth checking out. Carlos and John run an amazing kitchen. Bar staff are tremendous. Casual and clean vibe. TV if big game or political event happening. I will patronize this gem over and over.

Creamin Cali is the best refreshing beer. Great customer service and the location is perfection for pregaming to catching a SF Giants game.

The bartenders were excellent - easily 5 stars! The food was OK, hummus was all the wrong kinds of spicy with fried pita chips instead of fresh pita; the wings were good and hot, though I personally like a little crispier. And it closes a bit early for a proper pub. But...it's a pub!
Great spot to watch games and eat delicious food at the same time. The cod bites were a revelation--I will come back for those alone! Happy hour Fridays are an awesome deal, as everything that we ordered, from the burger to the buffalo wings, were solid. Top it off with outstanding service, and you have the perfect all-around sports-watching experience.
Real divey joint frequented by locals. Cool taste of the city, really awesome bartender. Any place with a pool table is a winner in my book.
