Food and drinks were as advertised. Exceptional use of ingredients in every plate, with bright and bold flavors. Unfortunately our leftovers were thrown away by the staff instead of packaged up to take home. Normally it would be a big deal but we had about 2/3s of the huge Sarten de Pato dish left, which was a very expensive item. The staff member who apologized kept trying to get me to accept tea or coffee as an apology and wasn’t interested in finding any other solution and wouldn’t compensate any of our meal. Less than ideal way to handle his screw up.
Phenomenal experience at this top world restaurant. The food presentation and taste was beyond. Our waiter, Oscar and his team, met our every need. I will long remember this exquisite tasting experience.

Lovely restaurant with amazing interior decor. Food was extremely presentable and delicious. Service was very good. They also have a very nice selection of drinks from their bar. Highly recommended if in Lima.

If I could rate more than 5 stars, I would. This meal at Mayta was easily the best I have ever had while in Peru. For those traveling, their staff speaks English so feel free to go have a great meal and not worry about a language barrier. We started with drinks. The drink my partner ordered - what a show - and so good. Amazing! We ordered the cerviche - best I have ever had! Ordered the Lomo Langustinos - Amazing! Ordered catch of the day - I have never had fish so moist, tender and the sauce was incredible. The presentation of each dish was an event, Watching the other tables get their food was fun. Getting your own was amazing. We also ordered 2 deserts, both to die for. The atmosphere is unique and the decor puts you at ease - a very tropical vibe. The staff was incredibly attentive, well informed and provided the best service I have had in Peru. Everyone who sees this review must try this restaurant! We will be back for sure.
Loved this place, food was amazing, services were great. It's less formal than the other fine dining places in lima but landed as my personal favorite of the trip. Highly recommend!!

This place is delicious! Having been fortunate enough to visit multiple times over the years, I've tasted nearly everything. While I'm still missing the Cuy and the Tasting Menu, here are a few thoughts that come to mind. I highly recommend trying a variety of dishes and sharing everything, as each plate offers a unique experience. Personally, my favorite remains the 'Arroz con Camarones,' although I also enjoy the 'Paiche a la Brasa' or 'Lomo & Langostinos.' However, the latter dish can be found at other restaurants, so it ain’t particularly unique. The 'Sarten de Pato' is quite substantial and can actually be shared between two people, but I find it a bit pricey for what it offers—perhaps it's due to the Foie Gras. Nevertheless, Cumpa's Arroz con Pato surpasses theirs; the cilantro was overpowering here, and the rice slightly dry in my opinion, but the presentation was beautiful. While I can't recall all the apps, the 'Zannahorias Rostizadas' was yummy, the 'Conchas & Arvejas' presented a unique and interesting flavour, although I might opt for something else personally. The 'Ceviche Amazónico' is decent but nothing special, I know it’s pushed out a lot though. They once had a roasted Cauliflower dish with this delicious cashew sauce, and I'm not sure why they removed it, as it was fantastic. Hopefully, they'll reintroduce it, considering they often modify their menu. Nonetheless, the drinks are exceptional, and every dessert is simply amazing. 'Good food is the foundation of genuine happiness.'

4.5⭐️ /5. Service is top notch and staff is very helpful in walking through and answering all your questions. Reservations are highly recommended but if you can’t get one you can try to do a walk in - aim to get there at opening or after the lunch service which ends around 2:30/3pm.

The drinks are definitely worth a try and are one of the best things at Mayta. The ceviche and the oyster is packed with flavor. Found the Zapallos to be heavy on turmeric but if you don’t mind it go for it.

Not too many vegetarian options on the menu if you are looking for that.

Booked a family dinner while on our travel to Peru; reservation is not difficult at all unlike Central, Kjolle or Maido; I was able to book just couple days before.

The tasting menu consisted of 11 courses, the last three of which are desserts. Every dish showed that a great deal of creativity went into presentation, textures and choice of ingredients, making this one of the more interesting and memorable meals I've had (though certainly not the best). As a visitor, I liked that all the dishes showcased uniquely Peruvian flavors that I cannot easily find elsewhere.

Creativity aside, flavor-wise, some, especially seafood and legume ones, were exquisite while others (desserts and alpaca meat) were plain or disappointing. Another disappointment was lack of a substantial protein-focused main dish before proceeding to dessert couses. Every dish was bite-sized and had equal emphasis, and I wish there was more of a gradual buildup.

Service was average compared to similar options. The most frustrating part was the sheer time it took for each dish to arrive. We made a 6:30 reservation, the first seating of the evening, and it wasn't until 7 when we were served the first dish. There was also a long wait (10-20 minutes) in between the dishes; we left the restaurant by 9.30pm and that was after rushing for a check because we had to get rest for an early flight out of Lima the next day.  Normally, service would adapt to the speed of guests but it wasn't the case. 3 hours - although definitely on the longer end - isnt crazy for tasting menus but I think it should be made more efficient to accommodate for guests dining speed. I also wish tasting menu was more condensed, partly to make preparation more efficient and also because some dishes were rather repetitive in terms of flavor notes.

Compared to many American fine-dining counterparts, I think this restaurant is actually a good value, but also, there are many other more affordable restaurants in Lima that specialize in local Peruvian food that are tastier in a traditional sense. So go if you value novel, creative experience and can tolerate slow service.

Tbh..I believe it’s over priced , we did wine paring , in total cost us 477USD per person, for the tasting menu. The food itself is fine, but presentation is over the taste itself. I love the corn/potato ingredients. I wouldn’t recommend for a return, but this is your first time, go and try but put expectations low please
If I say was the best in my life is not lie. It was incredibly delicious. I always following the cheif Jaime Pesaque and tonight when I tried different dishes found it is a real quality and peace if art. Each part of food has different and amazing taste.
I would love back to Peru not just for attractions but also to try Mayta food again .

Thsnk Mayta team.
Amazing experience. The dishes were all delicious novel dishes made with local ingredients. This was the most exquisite cuy I've had in my life. Quite the experience!
The restaurant has superb service and a great atmosphere. Do expect a fine dining experience, including fine dining sized portions.

What can be said about this spot……. They are one of the top restaurants in Latin America. They perfect ambiance, originality, service, quality, flavors, friendliness, atmosphere and cultural/local relevance. We we lucky to grab a lunch reservation for their tasting menu. 11 courses for 750 soles or about $210US. If you add drink pairings and taxes, and gratuity, you are looking to spend $300-$400US per person. Price matters very little the end if you have a good experience. Our experience was out of this world. While Lima is not short on variety of top-notch restaurants, Mayta stands out for me. Presentation and explanation of each dish and the staff made this a meal to remember. We will be back and if I had one suggestion….. More female servers! Women don’t just belong in the kitchen or as hostesses.

Wasn't planning on visiting but have already tried out all other top restaurants in the city in the past couple of trips. Decided to make reservations since a few people had suggested it. We weren't planning on the tasting menu, but after the previous evening dinner at Astrid & Gaston, and not being able to decide on want to order, we succumbed and asked if they could accommodate two tastings for the afternoon.

In addition to the a la carte, they have a long and short tasting. We went for the long version at roughly 200 USD a person. After the second course of little bites, we both agreed that it was the right decision.

We enjoyed all courses. Some will be memorable for a while. One of which just choclo textures, who knew corn could be this delicious. All shellfish courses were spot on, the razor clam in the seaweed and the scallop. The only miss was the amazonian fish course, though beautiful in it's presentation the last portion of the course, the tail, was a bit overcooked and the skin not as crispy as it should be.

All in all an enjoyable experience if you've already tried out the other top spots in town. Even if you haven't visited all the spots in town, you should add Mayta to your list.
Had an amazing experience at this restaurant; great atmosphere and top-notch service!! All the meals in the tasting menu were fantastic, with unique mix of ingredients and a story behind them. The presentation was really impressive!!! Highly recommend it if you’re in Lima!

Mayta was Incredibly! Our first night in Peru and it was an excellent start. My fiancé and I had the non alcoholic food pairings with their 9 courses and we loved the thought that went into each matching. Excellent to try something a bit different. We also appreciated the different types of cutlery and the ceramics and plates used for each dish were worthy of the full culinary experience. Heavy on vegetables with touches of seafood was also warmly welcomed.
