Fantastic beer battered fish tacos and fish and chips. Super crispy and light batter. Fish tacos plate comes with two tacos and chips and salsa. Saw a few people with ahi poke nachos that looked very good. They also have fish plates, lobster rolls, shrimp, etc. they have beers on tap, sake and wine. Love the Hawaiian style of some plates like the North Shore garlic shrimp and the poke. Most seating is outdoor in a covered patio. There was a line at lunch time weekday but moved fast. Service to the table was quick. Parking limited in their lot but plenty of other parking lots near by or on the street.

About $40 total. Poke nachos were good, fish and chips were alright. Nothing amazing considering how much we paid. Would recommend a speaker or something for people waiting outside for their food!

The absolute best seafood I have ever had.The clams were very clean and very fresh. And the lobster roll was unmatched, unlike any other rod have ever had, you can taste the freshness of the lobster. It was amazing!
The poke nachos were fresh and they were really, really good. The stuff was really sweet and the wait was not long at all. The tables were clean.I love the fact that they had the water outside. Highly recommend. This place and definitely we'll be back soon.

So good! Go for Happy Hours for great deals. Fish tacos and Poke Nachos were tremendous! Order at counter, find a seat then food is brought to you. Wish we had found it sooner!

Let me start by saying we are probably spoiled by the food (portions and quality) we get consistently get at fish shop in Encinitas and PB. We are staying up in Dana Point and rode bikes to San Clemente. Although in business for over 2 years we had never seen or tried it before. We were very excited with high hopes. I got the seafood soup and a salmon taco. My wife got the salmon plate. The salmon on the taco was less than a finger in width for most of it and maybe two fingers in some parts. It was thin, overcooked and dry.

My wife's salmon was the same way. The fish were either very small (trout size) or they split the filet down the middle to make it thinner.

The stew was 95 % potatoes and a few veggies. Maybe 1 hole medium shrimp chopped up. I didn't see or taste any other seafood. Again spoiled for what I get fresh in Mexico and from Fish Shop.

Would I eat here again? Maybe. For $34 (no drinks) it was pricy for what we got.

Now I may be a bit of a fish snob, we spend 4 months in Mexico and 3 months in CA a year. I mostly eat fish I catch. I may come back to try the ceviche on their happy hour special but that would probably be it. Leaving disappointed and hungry.

GET THE POKE NACHOS! These were the best poke nachos I’ve ever had and the portion size was insane. We got the garlic shrimp, poke nachos, oyster, and fish tacos. My friend I could barely finish everything. 10/10 recommend and will be coming back!

One of the food options at The Outlets SC. Set up as a faster food restaurant - order at the counter and food is brought to you. Menu is not expansive but there's a good selection. Food formats are bowls, salads, sandwich/rolls, tacos, and a few specialty/seasonal items. Seafood is the main protein but you can get chicken or beef, plus there is a plant-based option. The sides are unusual but tasty. Brussel sprouts were very good, truffle Parm tots were good but a bit too oil-y, and the cauliflower (battered and deep fried) were too greasy for me. For mains, the poke bowl is very good and healthy, and the lobster roll was really tasty. Looking forward to trying other items.

I love eating here when in San Clemente. Food is great and service is normally good. This time though (12/26/23) my fish and chips looks a bit lacking (See picture) compared to previous visits and pictures others posted on Yelp, and the young lady at the counter wasn’t friendly that day. I hope it’s not going to be a trend ‘cause I love eating here 😄
For his birthday, my dad requested to go here just for their blueberry pancakes. I tried them, and they were to die for! The cakes were packed with fresh blueberries, and not overly sweet; and they come as a large stack of 3, but the kids stack of 2 is the perfect size as side dish or for the small-eater.

The fisherman has a wide range of delicious omelets including your standard egg and cheese, to a Mexican omelet full of green chilis. They also have strawberry pancakes, waffles, oatmeal and more.

Beyond their menu, their service was impeccable — the staff was some of the friendliest (and bubbliest) staff I’ve been served by. And the site was simply gorgeous, sitting above the water on the pier. Sunglasses are always a good idea but there are ample umbrellas.

Best cod, fish taco ever! I like my grilled and it was perfect with the most amazing coleslaw and pickled onions. They were so nice to my doggy. We will definitely come back. Very hard to find a good fish place.
This place is definitely very popular, because it is super crowded, especially in the evenings, but we got a table for two right away. It takes a while for the waitress to come to the table, but after that the personnel is attentive. The food that we tried was really good, especially the fish and chips. It was a good experience.
Fisherman's Restaurant Review

Fisherman's Restaurant is a casual beachside seafood restaurant located on the San Clemente Pier. It's a popular spot for both locals and tourists alike, and for good reason. The food is consistently excellent, the portions are generous, and the prices are reasonable.

One of the things I love most about Fisherman's is the quality of the seafood. It's always fresh & perfectly cooked. I've tried a variety of dishes on the menu, and I've never been disappointed. The fish and chips are a classic, & the clam chowder is some of the best I've ever had. I also highly recommend the grilled salmon (I opted for toasted sourdough bread and it was perfect.

Another great thing about Fisherman's is the portion sizes. The meals are definitely plentiful, & you're sure to leave satisfied.

Even though Fisherman's is located on a popular tourist pier, it doesn't have a touristy feel to it. It's more of a relax & casual but still "fun-classy" atmosphere. This makes it a great place to go for lunch with friends and even large families.

They have great indoor view dining and a spacious, ocean fresh outdoor patio (with heaters). Their friendly staff that is always happy to accommodate (we had a couples of menu tweaks & even got their lunch menu a bit earily). I recently went to Fisherman's with a group of 10 people, and we had a wonderful experience. The staff was very attentive and made sure that we had everything we needed.

Overall, I highly recommend Fisherman's Restaurant to anyone looking for a great seafood meal in a casual beachside setting. The food is excellent, the portions are VERY generous, and the prices are reasonable. It's also a great place to go for large groups.

Additional notes:

Fisherman's has a great outdoor patio with stunning views of the ocean.

There is very close parking available, in an large (paid for time) lot.

Fisherman's is a great place to go for a walk on the pier or down along by the ocean the after your meal.

I hope this review is helpful!
We found ourselves at Fisherman's Restaurant & Bar on a bustling Thursday evening around 6-7 PM and were immediately swept away by its great atmosphere. Even with a 20-minute wait for a seat, the establishment offered a fantastic opportunity to stroll on the pier, allowing us to soak in some beautiful views.

Fisherman's provided a delightful cocktail menu, blending traditional options with some intriguing house specials. I was particularly captivated by the Tresel cocktail, boasting a potent yet enjoyable melon flavor. The T-Street was another notable mention with its robust Hendricks gin foundation, perfectly balanced by sweet and sour nuances. It’s worth noting that they offer enticing deals during their Monday to Friday happy hour – a boon for those looking for quality beverages at a friendlier price.

Despite the bar being awash with patrons, the service was remarkably quick and delivered with a genuine smile. Our orders were promptly on our table, much to our surprise considering how busy they were. After the brief wait, we were rewarded with an exceptional seat by the water, a perfect spot to enjoy our drinks and the enchanting sunset.

I wholeheartedly recommend Fisherman's Restaurant & Bar, whether you're a local or a tourist. It’s a super chilled spot that promises not only quality drinks and bites but also a front-row seat to a splendid sunset view.
This seafood restaurant is absolutely charming, boasting a picturesque outdoor patio. We were pleasantly surprised by the stunning ocean view and thoroughly enjoyed all the seafood dishes we ordered. For appetizers, we savored the fresh and delicious oysters and crab. Additionally, their complimentary bread loaf was delightfully crispy and aromatic. As for our main dish, we opted for the Ono, which was perfectly cooked, and the baked potato complemented it beautifully.
Had an amazing dinner with an excellent view at the Fisherman’s restaurant. Reservations definitely recommended. We went on a Thursday and it was jam-packed. We had a great spot overlooking the pier and ocean. The service was great, the wine choices were extensive and the food was cooked to perfection.
It’s definitely a good place to go if you need to serve a large crowd because there is a lot of outdoor seating.

Great alternative to burger fast food. Good tasting fish with fresh sides. We had a bowl and sandwich both tasty. Only complaint is shrimp is fried with the rest of food and some folks have allergic reactions to shrimp.
The employees were polite and nice. We were group of twelve and they were able get us table. The server was polite and prompt with service. The food was delicious. The restaurant is located on pier and has great view. Only down side that the chair had dust. The restaurant should be more aware and keep the place clean.

Haven't visited Slap Fish for a long time. Happened to shop at Sam Clemente Outlet and tried Slap Fish again for early dinner. The price increased after the Pandemic, but the food are still delicious. They have Happy hour weekday from 3-5pm, so we were able to order Tots, fries, spicy and sweet cauliflower for $2-3 each which is very good deal. This place has ample indoor and outdoor seating. Definitely a good place to enjoy delicious food while you are at the outlet. Give it a try when you are in the area.

Wow. Just wow
End the review here, as that's all you need to know. This small familt owned regional chain is absolutely the best little place around. You'll go here and kick yourself for not trying it sooner. Wveryung is very well priced, but their happy hour pricing is a god-send for anyone on a budget! Fish tacos are my fave, but poke bowls and nachos are amazing. Limited parking on site, and seating is tight. Come on with a good attitude because everyone here is very chill! Beer and wine and a small bar area as well.
Wow. Just wow.

I felt compelled to adjust my review of Slapfish. While the prices are a little high, I have to absolutely commend the restaurant on the amazing quality and flavors that I experienced with it recent order of their ahi tuna bowl. Excellent!!! The Slap Sauce is also very tasty. The pickled onions and coleslaw were wonderful. Check out the presentation as well. These flavor masters have got it dialed in. I’m a fan.

What a great place! Friendly staff and amazing food. Portions are large and reasonably priced. Fish is big, flakey and delicious. Would definitely eat there again. I had the 2 handed fish taco and it was fantastic and very filling.

I think this is a great addition to the new outlet mall, exactly the kind of semi quick service but still quality food that should be here. The food was great quality, a bit heavy on the fried side only because most of the menu seems to be fried fish. But the fish is good quality and makes for a filling lunch. I was pleased with the friendly service of the staff.
