Overpriced. We waited for more than 45 min for the main course while other tables that arrived later were being served. At the end when we wanted to pay they told us that card wasn’t accepted (there was no sign saying it neither they told us before entering).

We had one of the worst experiences in our lives. We got an overcooked fish with undercooked vegetables, both with no flavor under the excuse that it came with alioli (which also didn’t taste at all as it’s supposed to)
Finally, there was no contactless payment or credit cards accepted.

Friendly service.

The food we had no authenticity. Escargot were not seasoned well and did not taste good.

The Bo Bouillabaisse uillabaisse was terrible and did not resemble a Bouillabaisse. Taste? Bad? Yes they served the bread, garlic and sauce on the side. The only thing good was the whole garlic. Again a real disappointment. Cheap cheap cutlery. Drink selection and serve were terrible.

A tourist trap.

We enjoyed the moules à la crème. Pizza was rather thick and doughy (personal preference is a thinner crust though).Be aware they don't take card for payment, we along with other diners were caught out. We were directed to a cash point that charged a further €3.95 to withdraw cash. Friendly and cheerful staff.

Great Bouillabaisse with very nice and stylish serving and finally strong airconditioning once inside.

Food its OK. I couldn’t handle too much cream on the garlic sauce. The location its great next to the old Port. We order some snails they where great!
I ordered prawn linguine, I was given no bowl or water so had to go wash my hands before eating.
Food was okay.
They would not let me pay by card and nextdoor the car machine costs €4

We order the dish Bouilabaisse Royale avec langouste entière, is cost 72 euro. The fish soup is really bad, you do not really see the fish inside, only two musculus nigers. Besides, the prown which involved in the dish menu, after serving, you do not really find the prown. And the most important, it looks that they added the yellow dye in the food and soup, when you finished eating, you finger will be yellow and you can wash it off. That was really bad.

It cost me almost 80 euro for one dish, it is nothing except one fish and one lobster, the soup smells weird and the fish smells not so fresh, it makes me disappointed after eating.

This place offers excellent value. The oysters, given the same type and number, are cheaper than at other restaurants. All the seafood is fresh, and the atmosphere by the port is vibrant.
Simply disgusting… pictures talk by itself… The server was cleaning the garbage bin and came to set up our cutlery 🤮🤮🤮

Had lunch there today, the service staff let us choose our table indoor and walked away right after placed the menu without any words. Seated and waited for ard 10 mins before I approached one of the waitress saying that we are ready to place order but was told to wait for another couple minutes with the grumpy face!

We ordered half a dozen of Oyster, langoustines & shrimps. The oysters and shrimps are fresh and superb but the Langoustines were not fresh.

We reserved a table outside, which took a bit longer than expected but the host gave us complimentary drinks and once we were seated the food was quick and delicious. It was my first time trying oysters and I couldn’t have asked for a better place to try them at. Highly recommend but reserve more ahead of time if you want to enjoy the sun

Went here with a friend and took the fixed menu. The food was down right bad the oysters were full shells fragments, the main course was the driest confie duck I have ever had and the fries where so greasy felt like they were cooked in luke warm oil but The service was nice tho so all in all not worth it for the fixed menu. (a bit dirty too especially inside the terasse)

The absolute worst restaurant in Marseille. The service was the worst I’ve ever received in my entire life. They are RUDE and obnoxious. Not only do they ignore customers, they will refuse you from using the washroom and engage in confrontation if you ask for help or to be rightfully served. The owner is one of the rudest people I have ever come across. We ended up having to leave because after an hour of waiting no one would serve us. We went to a restaurant down the street where the staff and customers said that we are not the first to complain about them and that they are infamous for being extremely rude and obnoxious and that every tourist that has been there has had the same opinion. Do not waste your time going to this place even out of desperation. The McDonald’s around the corner will offer you better service and hospitality. Take my review into serious consideration, because I am not one to leave bad reviews unless it was a terrible and unforgettable experience.

After reviewing Google reviews and the menu, I chose it for dinner. The restaurant is in a very good location, the waiters speak English and are incredibly friendly and helpful. Our menu consisted of French home-style fish soup, vegetable burrata cheese soup, boiled shrimp and grilled sea bream. In short, the food was delicious, even though I couldn't finish the salty soup due to my blood pressure problem, it was a very nice meal. The business acted very professionally and did not add the soup that I could not drink to the bill, even though it was not their fault. Thank you. If you have time and are nearby, I recommend you stop by.

If you’re a traveler like me, please visit this family restaurant! It’s a much superior experience than some other pricier and supposedly fancier places. I’m so happy that I finally decided to come here. Best decision ever.

The owner will show you how to enjoy bouillabaisse the local way. You can see how they really care about food and enjoy their food. Fresh fish, very warm homie service, the perfect end of my trip to Marseilles. I thank the owners for the memory, enjoyment, and a marvelous meal.

For the 26 euro meal we enjoyed it, with only a few minor qualms.
I highly recommend the aubergine parmigiana and frites de petits poissons entrées as well as the cod with mashed potatoes and shallot cream-the sauce was a perfect balance for the fish. The salmon rotini did not have rotini but rather pasta shells and its flavour in general was underwhelming. For dessert the pear Belle-Hélène and apple tart were delicious.
Service was as expected but it was unclear where we had to pay the bill and it turned out we had to go to the bar area of the restaurant to pay-I hope this is made clear to future customers as we waited ten minutes before figuring it out.

This was not just a dinner. Every bite was an experience.
Everything about this place is just amazing. The people working here are wonderfully pleasant and friendly, the space itself is beautiful, the choice of music is on point, and the food is just perfect. We enjoyed every moment. If I could, I would spend the whole night here just eating and enjoying the atmosphere. 😁

Top top top! This was my last dinner in Marseille so I wanted to treat myself with some seafood and I was not disappointed :) From start to the end the waiters were kind and always smiling. The atmosphere was nice and calm with just the natural noise of people talking. And the food! Oh my gosh! So fresh and tasty. In future I'll definelly return :)
The male waitress is a polite and helpful. But Bouillabaisse didnt reach my expectations. I can not find taste of saffron neither the other seafood in soup. Fish taste like canned fish.

Visited La Daurade around 7pm. Group of four we ordered the Formula meal. Starter - Main - Dessert.
Tried Sardines (starter), Mushroom Risotto (main) and Cod (main).
The dessert options were limited to the only choices of Apple Pie or Chocolate Cake.
Had a few drinks including Bier, Kir Royale (strawberry or peach) and finished with Limoncello.
Service was good and at expected tempo in Marseille, relaxed.

We have been seated for 15 mins but waiter did not even give us menu. It is very impolite even they are busy. We ask them for menu again after 15 mins. The waitress palms us to wait for 5 mins more. Unhappy experience. Come here bc reviews! At the end, we left. Thanks for experience marsillee

Perfect little place on the far end of the Vieux Port, but don’t let the location fools you since the food here is good and very fairy priced compared to other restaurants along Vieux Port. We got oysters as starter (Gillardeaus!) and husband got bouillabaisse and I got saffran risotto. Portions were big and satisfying and we loved the food

Service was quite slow dispite the fact restaurant was only half full. But this is the only con I find. Food (fish and seafood) is delicious, place marvellous (you can see the port) and wine excellent. It is also a fair value for money.
Thon steak lightly marinated in soy sauce accompanied by a black wild rice risotto…..delectable! The truffle ravioli deserves a thumbs up! Buratta pasta - al dente and delicious. All the staff are upbeat, attentive and speak / understand English! Beautiful view of the Basilique Notre -Dame-De-La-Garde.
As we were walking past on Sunday we saw that the restaurant was busy, it looked very popular, but then again on a rugby weekend with dozens of tourists and rugby supporters you'd expect any restaurant or bar to be busy or there must be something wrong.

We were seated quite quickly and then it took around ten minutes for our menus to arrive. We ordered after a further ten to fifteen minutes. Two steaks, quite simple dishes you'd have thought. After 40 minutes we asked where our meals were; the reply was "soon". After an hour still nothing, after 70 minutes still nothing. Despite repeatedly asking, our meals did not appear. The staff just didn't care, they brushed us off. So whenever anyone sat near us we told them not to bother and politely informed them of our tale of woe.

After the best part of 90 minutes we got up, paid for our drinks and left. Not even an apology. So we never got to taste the food, the drinks were average. The location is good, right on the quai side but the service was terrible and I'd say avoid it.

The food was fabulous, and the service was incredibly quick and polite. We are a family of two adults and 2 teenagers wanting to immerse ourselves in the Marseille food culture.
La Daurade was actually recommended by our French taxi driver.
The restaurant opens at 7pm. We went on a Thursday evening and I had booked a table, which wasn't necessary. Although it's probably worth booking on a Friday or Saturday.
There is an a la carte menu where main dishes are 20-30€ but my top tip is to check out the last page, and there are set menus. Two courses for 22€ or three courses for 24€.
The waiter was excellent - it was my first time eating bouillabaisse, and he explained the correct way to eat it with the cheese, croutons, and mustard.
Overall, the food was delicious and delivered very quickly. Thank you.

Great food, but the waitress was a little bit inattentive. They never asked us if we would have anything more to drink. Had to wait order.

Fresh seafood but non of the staff looks pleasant nor happy. Everyone (4-5 staff) is wearing a grumpy face. Look like no one likes their job. I feel sorry for them. We would like to order more food but decided not to because of the bad vibes.

The wine is good. We love it. Oyster and white clams are also great. The crab is awful. I had one bite only. It is not fresh for sure. Razor clam is not good either. It’s full house and there is only one waiter serve all. I don’t know why.

We had an authentic Marseillaise bouillabaisse dinner here. The table side preparation of the dish is something we had never seen and thanks to a local friend we learned how to correctly eat bouillabaisse -- you rub raw garlic on the toasted pieces of bread, top them with the rouille sauce and maybe aioli, then drop the bread onto the soup until they become soft and then enjoy them with morsels of fish and soup. Well, you just have to come and try it.

We had a great experience overall.

The staff was friendly and tried to explain the menu and suggested a couple of dishes.

We ate dinner during a week day and tried the set menu for $24. The food was fresh and delicious. (A starter and a main dish)

The restaurant atmosphere was good for a nice conversation with friends/couple.

Friendly service. The fried seafood we had is delicious. Especially the calamari is very fresh and nicely done. The prawn too very tasty. Mussels pasta is overwhelmed with mussels and beautifully presented. But the fries is not to our expectation and the truffle ravioli is too cheesy.

Highly recommended. Lovely French restaurant by the old port. I dined here with some friends (group of 6) on a Thursday night. We did not have a reservation, but the staff was able to accommodate us. The place is very nice and elegant. There is also a nice terrace, for those who prefer to eat outside. Staff was very friendly and the waitress that looked after our table was happy to give us some meal recommendations (she could speak Italian, which made the conversation much easier). The cod was delicious and very fresh. It was served with home made gnocchi and a lovely aubergine sauce. I also tried their revised (and simpler) version of the local “bouillabaisse” which in this case was prepared with red mullet. It was lovely, but I personally did not love the taste of cloves in it. Tap water and bread were served to us for free. Definitely a great place to taste some nice French food, within the city center.

The food here is great. We had lunch and the dishes were all delicious. The portions are huge. The pasta with mussels comes with 30+ mussels. There is no indoor dining. The place is great for families.

The waiters can be a little curt but otherwise the service was good.
