Sushi was really really fresh and bright! Such a nice experience! Highly recommended! Only minor constructive criticisms would be waiting on tea that never came (they were very busy), and the box sesame salad wasn’t good.
Besides that, the sashimi, aburi, nigiri, and tampura was outstanding! Well done!

New Korean management and chef. Excellent quality food. Fresh ingredients. Awesome quality sushi rice. Some new unique sushi combo styles. GreT service. Ultra clean restaurant.
Blaire made our Genji experience awesome! She made sure we were satisfied by checking on us often!! Good portions of food! Very clean environment too!!
Wife and I enjoyed a very nice lunch at Genji today. We started with tempura soba, kind of 2 dishes in one. An assortment of lightly battered tempura on one plate and cold buckwheat soba noodles with ice cold dipping sauce on another. Very good.
The salmon kama was another highlight, being a very flavourful, generous portion with very few bones.
The star of this meal, however, was the boneless fried chicken, which appears to be new on the menu. We had the sweet and spicy version. I thought it might be more sweet than spicy but boy I was wrong. The sauce actually packed a bit of a kick. The chicken itself was nice and moist with a crunchy coating. Definitely a dish to re-order next visit.
Finished with a refreshing bowl of mango ice cream scattered with chunks of preserved mango.
The restaurant is quite bright and newly redone. We were seated in a "modified" or "westernized" tatami room. It was an enclosed room but the table and benches were regular height rather than the typical low profile in traditional rooms.
Service was prompt, courteous and efficient.

Ordered the sushi combo B and the salmon bento box for take out. The service was prompt, the staff friendly and the food was delicious. Overall the food was great, the tempura was nice and crispy, the salmon was tasty and the sushi was fresh. This will be my new go-to place for sushi.
After finishing my game at North Lands golf course. We went to Genji Japanese Restaurant for dinner.

Had two special rolls. The portions were generous, the ingredients were fresh, and the food was delicious. It’s a small but authentic shop

This has become a favorite local sushi spot for our family! Food is really good and fresh! Friendly staff, and it's very close to us which is great! And the price is right! 15-20% less than the other neighborhood sushi places and much better!
Very clean spot. The food is great. Prices are reasonable. Get the lunch tempura bento box. Good deal.
We discovered this place accidentally. The food is delicious, the service is good, and the dining environment is clean and warm. It's great. The disadvantage is that when we haven't finished our meal, they clear away the plates and give us the bill, as if they want us to leave as soon as possible, which makes us feel very uncomfortable.
Great sushi. The restaurant is very nice and calm. The food came really fast and was very very delicious. They serve water for free if you ask and the waitresses were very polite. I would definitely recommend getting sushi here :)))

Small quiet sushi spot with impeccable service and great food. If you're looking for a quick lunch spot this is a great place. Great variety of Japanese food all done very well, and the best part is that it won't put a big dent in your wallet!
We've been on the north shore for a long time and never had checked this place out. We decided to go for dinner. It was good food and nice service. I was expecting a bit more wow as it was highly recommended but I would just say it's good sushi and I would go back
Minemura Sushi, is without a doubt, one of the best North Van sushi spots. The freshness and quality of the fish are exceptional. The special rolls are creative and delicious. The attentive service and friendly atmosphere completes the extraordinary dining experience.
Food & prices ($12-14) are good. Seems to be mainly a takeout place. Almost didn't go because it was small and empty.

The alaska roll is good but it’s not the classic alaska roll with salmon, avocado and onion sauce, it contains crab meat and comes with smoked salmon on top.
Chicken karagee is really good, crispy and juicy.
Half-spicy salmon sashimi portions are very small compared to other places.

They gave me spoiled lettuce 🤮 I feel like they gave it even though they knew it had gone bad. It would have been very obvious while they were preparing the food. I noticed this after finishing sashimi, hopefully the sashmi was more fresh than the lettuce 😂 Also, Their sunomono is the worst I ever had🤢

Ordered five sushi rolls to go, the person who took our order was super polite. Ingredients were very fresh and all were very different flavors which I loved. First time I've ordered a restaurant rainbow roll and it didn't taste store bought. These guys know their sushi; some of the best I've had in awhile. Definitely would go back.
The first meal after being away from North Vancouver for a year is of course Yama Sushi!! It’s truly nostalgic and the quality is extremely fresh and flavorful. It’s safe to say it’s the best sushi I’ve ever tasted! A must visit in North Vancouver. I’ve been a Yama sushi fan for 6 years 🙃
I have had a chance to visit this restaurant and ordered spicy chirashi don, croquette, and sake. Taste and service were both good. Will visit this restaurant in the future if I drop by.

This joint is a great little sushi spot! 100% recommend swinging by for some yummy chow down on awesome grub at excellent value for money. My first experience of Agedashi Tofu (揚げ出し豆腐) in this way, totally digged it, dope flavor and super tasty tofu! The Edamame 枝豆 salting was a little too overkill for my personal preference but a delicious set of Dynamite Roll 炸虾卷 , Inari Roll 稲荷 and Salmon Roll nonetheless. The Tamagoyaki 玉子焼き and Inari Roll 稲荷 were also phoneomenal!
Note, no brown rice options here but isn't a huge deal. The staff are awesome, extremely approachable and they also have high chairs for little ones with big tummies! Will definitely be coming back here next time I'm in the area without hesitation and pumped for my next opportunity! A great experience.

We were amazed by the quality and freshness of the tuna and salmon sashimi, which were simply divine. The slices were thick and tender, and they melt in your mouth. The presentation was also beautiful and appetizing.
We were also delighted by the soft-shell crab and the beef udon, which is a hearty and delicious bowl of thick noodles in a rich and flavorful broth.
The prices are reasonable for the quality and quantity of food, and the location is convenient and easy to find.

There are plenty of sushi places on the shore, so I will explain what seperates this one from the others:
The service here was prompt and professional, our server Brad made sure all of our needs and wants were attended to quickly.
The yam tempura roll here was proper crispy, unlike other places. Our edamame appetizer arrived still hot, the way it should be.
The salmon sashimi we had was proper cold and portioned nicely.
The entire restaurant seems very well maintained. We will definitely choose this place again over others in the area for these reasons. Great sushi for its price point. This restaurant has been here for years and for a good reason. A hidden gem amongst the numerous sushi restaurants in the area.

Definitely the best sushi place in Vancouver! I visited after renovation and was really surprised by big change here. The atmosphere is very cozy and calm. Not to mention foods, all ingredients were fresh and taste was excellent! You must try the ice cream with gold flaks. Look so gorgeous! Will come back to this place for sure next time!

Located in Parkgate Village beside Subway near the Mount Seymour Parkway entrance. Lots of parking. Clean, friendly service. Had the lunch Bento box. Chicken was skinless and not crispy and no rice. Otherwise everything else was tasty. Nice quiet friendly neighbourhood sushi place.
I have been enjoying sushi for the better part of 25 years and Yohachi did not disappoint. In fact, it was the BEST sushi my girlfriend and I have ever had! The service was great too. We sat on the cute patio on a hot summer day and had lunch. I would highly recommend eating here!
I never dine in here before , just buy take out and order Uber Eats. The foods looked great and the taste was beyond what I expected. When I had the first piece of the red dragon roll, I had to talk to myself “mmmm, omg, this is so good”.

Finally found fave sushi place ever! Everything is fresh, good quality and delicious. Spicy mayo is perfect. We are huge fans!! First discovered on Uber Eats, food arrives fresh and tasty, can’t stop ordering from this place! Looking forward to trying in person. Thanks Minemura :)
