I walk by this place omw to work all the time. Ive never noticed they had breakfast/brunch. Today they opened early on bank holiday and i had breakfast. I had the aerican pancakes with eggs and bacon. The fried eggs were best ive had around city center. The bacon was nice n crispy and the pancakes good too. Service was good, My server was Antonio he was kind and attentive. I recommend this place for breakfast for sure. They should open earlier during the week as theres not much for breakfast by here.

It's so disappointing to go somewhere that you used to love and find out that it has just gone down hill so much. When we lived in Dublin 10+ years ago this was a regular place for dinner, the food and welcoming service was amazing.

Last night was the opposite. We were seated by a waiter (who to give him his due) said it was his first night, we ordered our drinks and food and then he promptly forgot about us, 35 min later we flagged him down looking for our drinks and they arrived with our starters. Our cold starters. The chicken wings were some strange oriental soy and lime concoction and the porks belly hadn't been rendered down enough so was just basically slices of fatty ham with a watery BBQ sauce. The plates were cold and yeah just not happy.
Our mains did not improve the meal, my burger was so greasy the bun was melting and my wife's halloumi burger was stone cold. The chips were pickled in salt and yeah just overall a terrible experience.
What was telling was when we caught the eye of the waiter and told him we were done (two full plates of food in front of us) he took them away and no questions about did we not enjoy it or was there a problem.
The guys toilets downstairs were a puddle of (hopefully) water and I had to laugh when I saw an advertisement for the restaurant across the street, The Rustic Stone, on the back of the loo door.

Won't be back.

Visited for dinner on a busy Friday night. The restaurant was very busy and consequently it felt very loud and not a nice dining experience. Service was a bit all over the place, almost overbearing to start and then the waitress disappearing after our main order had been taken.
Shepherds pie was delicious, other main was half roast chicken which was nice to look at, but in reality was not tasty and had a stringy consistency.
It would seem the maitré d knew he was up against it that night and he could tell that a few tables weren't happy with their dining experience. He didn't ask this directly but randomly placed two glasses of champagne on our table and said happy birthday..... it was not any of our birthdays and he knew this.... strange.

The place overall was very nice, the plates on the wall are very classy and create a cozy environment (a bit loudly) and we had a good dining out.
Unfortunately they were a bit disorganized so that the lost our order and we need to repeat what we wanted. We had an hamburger with fried cheese that was okay and a salad (with a bit too much onion).
A tip to the staff: yes I was with my boyfriend, yes I am a woman, but no, the check don’t need to go straight to him (you can put it in the center) because I can pay too for both of us, as I did :)

We went for a dinner on a Friday night, no booking but we were accomdated with a table. Menu is nice and varied. We both ordered burgers, the portion was huge., trust me when I say you won't go hungry at all. We tried some cocktails and they were delicious. Overall, I would recommend.

I have to say that I'm a bit disappointed with my recent experience at this restaurant. I visited a few days ago with friends, and we all had similar feedback about their meal. The sirloin steak I ordered was very dry, even though it was cooked medium. Additionally, the pepper sauce didn't meet my expectations, as it seemed overly vinegary and sour.
However, I have no complaints about the service, which was friendly and helpful. I'm inclined to explore other dining options before considering a return visit to your establishment.

I had salmon here. Unfortunately, it was dry. The waiter was very attentive and friendly.

Visited for a business dinner. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was perfect. Not too loud and never felt too busy even though all tables were occupied. The staff were very attentive and professional. I had garlic bread to start with and a 10oz fillet steak medium rare. It was spot on. The beef dripping thin cut fries were sublime too. I would recommend this place for an old school dining experience. The interior feels unique and homely. Like it's been like that for decades but in a nice nostalgic way. If it ain't broke don't fix it.

Very good food and the value for money is balanced. One of the few locations from City Center where you can eat for a fair price.

Great place! The smell of the food draws you in and does not disappoint. We had the whole restaurant to ourselves for the first half hour. Beautiful establishment and staff 😊

Great food! Each dish was unique and I would have been happy eating any dish my part of four ordered. Definately worth it and we had a lovely time. Water is also included free. My only disappointment was we went here as google maps said they had sticky toffee pudding but they did not. Google maps does not seem 100% up to date in Ireland.

I was drawn to the Millstone because of the excellent reviews, and their full additional coeliac menu for one of my guests. The service was excellent - the ladies were all very knowledgeable on the techniques used on the menu items, and they paid very good attention to the details of my booking. They were also not overly present around us the whole time, and knew exactly when to check in on us.

We tried a variety of things and everything was excellent: the mussels were some of the best I've ever had (I had to ask for extra bread to not waste the sauce), the salmon, the lamb shank, even the Portobello mushroom dish, all excellent. The crème brûlée was the icing on the cake!

All I can say is the Millstone deserves every good review it's received, and I'm adding mine to that long list of fans!

Brought the entire team from India, Romania, and Germany. Everyone was delighted. The place is small and very cosy, the staff are super attentive, fast, and efficient.

The food, whether vegetarian or traditional, was extremely good value for money. The beers were fresh and well poured.

Overall, highly recommended. Thanks to the Millstone Restaurant team for a lovely evening.
