Stayed at cayton bay parkdean site. Beach good with cliff top walks. Raining when we went but sure much better with sunshine.
Returned one evening when sun was out, views from cliffs.

Stay here in our motorhome for three nights. Loved it. Need to do it again soon.

Had been to Scarborough several times but first time at the North Bay Beach. Lovely long sandy beach well kept with rocks at one end exposed during tide out. Great if you like to puddle through rock pools. Lots of colourful beach huts, public toilets and eating place available. Very popular with dog walkers and families. Ideal for walking the promenade all the way into the main harbour. Well worth a visit but must warn you that on my visit mid Oct there are loads of sand flies that can be a real nuisance if you're not used to them.

This is an amazing long sandy beach which is in total contrast to those of Scarborough and Filey
It is a completely uncommercialised and the beach at low tide is massive.
There is a steep walk down to the beach from the car park with toilets by the cafe and pumphouse.
You'll also find a bridleway that goes to the top of the cliffs that gives you awesome views of the bay and access to the bays north and south of Cayton.

We parked up on the front and walked the dogs through to Scalby Mill and back. It was great to blow the cobwebs away. Reading the history was very moving.
Shame the parking was so expensive.
One of the most impressive things we noted was how clean Scarborough as a whole is. Great to visit somewhere without litter.

Beautiful golden sand beach! Clean and easily accessed by myself and my 3 year old son, pushchair in hand.
Shared a magical sunset with my boy, watching him running all over the beach, shoes and socks off, paddling in the sea!
Absolutely amazing view!

Had a lovely walk along North Bay Beach on a rather wet and wild day. Some great views of the rain clouds out at sea. We managed to stay reasonably dry on our walk lol we love visiting Scarborough.

"Cayton Bay Beach is a hidden gem on the Yorkshire coast. It is a beautiful, sandy beach with stunning views of the cliffs and the North Sea.
The beach is relatively quiet, even on summer days, making it the perfect place to relax and escape the crowds.
One of the things I love most about Cayton Bay Beach is its natural beauty.
The sand is soft and golden, and the water is crystal clear. There are also several rock pools on the beach, which are perfect for exploring at low tide.
Another thing I love about Cayton Bay Beach is that it is a great place for families.
The beach is shallow and safe for swimming, and there is plenty of space for children to play.
There is also a cafe on the beach The Salty Dog where you can buy refreshments the young lady running the cafe is very pleasant and polite, there are free public toilets close to the cafe.
If you are looking for a beautiful and peaceful beach on the Yorkshire coast, I highly recommend Cayton Bay Beach."
Here are some additional tips for visiting Cayton Bay Beach:
• The best time to visit Cayton Bay Beach is during the summer months, when the weather is warm and sunny. However, the beach is also beautiful in the winter, when it is often deserted.
• If you are planning on surfing or windsurfing, be sure to check the weather forecast and tide times before you go.
• There is a car park at the beach, but it can get busy during the summer months. It is a good idea to arrive early or park in one of the nearby villages.
• There are no lifeguards on duty at Cayton Bay Beach, so be sure to swim with caution.

Lovely walk along promenade, plenty of parking, cafes n toilets. Great for surfers. Dogs allowed out of season.

Loved the walk down the North Bay promenade to South bay.
Loved the mini history plaques along the bay wall. Posted a few photos but if you want to see more you will have to walk the route!😁

Lovely flat beach with steep path going down to it. Great golf beach games and surfing. There is a toilet by the carpark and a shop on the beach. Nb that at high tide the beach is covered (as you see from the photo)

This is a great dog friendly beach.
There is a good car park close by with a toilet and a little shop.
The walk down to the beach could be a bit tricky for people who are unsteady on their feet as it is steep and slippery.
However, the beach is worth the walk down to it.
The beach is flat and sandy. On the right day, it would be good for surfing and body boarding.
If you like hunting for sea glass, there are some great bits to be found here.

Fabulous dog friendly beach, loads of paddle boarders, top field parking £5 daily. Be careful walking down the large slippy slope to get down to beach, walk along to beach side cafe that sells tea and coffee and cakes, lots of stones and rocks in the corner if you want to look for fossils. Well worth the visit the dog loved it…. Much more than my legs did walking back up the slope!

Cayton Bay beach is a great Yorkshire-coast sandy beach.
The beach is subject to quite a large tidal surge so at high tide, the water can extend all the way to the cliffs. Don't get caught out.
At low tide, there are exposed rocks on the beach, providing ample opportunity for young ones to look for aquatic life in the rock pools that forms.
From end to end, the beach is about 3km at low tide and there are old ruins of concrete bunkers harking back to the 2nd world war that was intended to protect against amphibious landings.
There is a nice beach cafe and the council services the remarkably clean toilets. Lifeguards mark out appropriate swim and surf areas.
There are three entrances to the beach: the main one which is central to the beach and is found opposite the holiday park. One at the south-end of the beach past the local surf school and one at the north-end of the beach which runs through the small section of National Trust land.
Be aware that all of these entrances have a drop of about 35m from the road down to the beach and it feels like a slog making your way back up. It is well worth it though!
The Cleveland Way trail skirts around the cliff-tops surrounding the beach and provides a great view of Scarborough in the distance.
Note that the beach is also dog-friendly and many dogs are on and off leash. For the most part, they are well-behaved.
Cayton Bay beach is really worth a visit.

The council have done a really good job to ensure there is lots of parking along the bay and along the marine drive.
Wish the toilets were open 24 hours, theyre already on a pay system... But clean and purposeful.
Lovely views from the bay. Worth a visit

Nice beach, clean and lifeguard patrolling. Seems to be popular with surfers and bodyboarders. However there is plenty of sea fun for the kids too. Dog friendly. Just watch the descent down to the beach, two ways we found to it were very steep. Toilets, food shop and surfing gear shop on or near beach

Great beach, good swimming & water sports options. Watch out for the jelly fish & the tides though. And make sure you take a wind break as it's super windy!

Lovely place to visit with dogs

Great beach to visit, good clean sand a lovely water, reasonably clear. There is a little shop at the top of the beach which sells hot and cold drinks, hot food and beach essentials. There is also a toilet by the shop. There is quite a steep slope down to the beach and about 20 steps, so not advisable if you are not good on your legs or wheelchair bound. There is also lifeguards on patrol during the day. Good if you want to do some paddleboarding, as pretty calm water, specially on the left hand side, though watch out for the rocks, visible during low tide. Overall a great little beach.
