The best beach of Lanzarote where it is not worth going. Papagayo beach is for sure an idyllic place and a postcard for Lanzarote and all the Canary islands. However while I would recommend to go to the Papagayo area and the Natural Park, as one of the most beautiful settings of the Canary islands, I would just stop to take a pic of the beach from the top because it is normally very busy or, as a more expensive alternative 😀, to have a lunch from the restaurant on the hill with a fantastic view on the beach. On the other hand, all the other beaches in the area at walking distance from the Papagayo beach are extremely beautiful and all worth a visit and a swim. Water is a normally calm and safe and you will have a wonderful view of the sunset either from the beaches or the hill on the top. Swimming at the sunset is a must here for a full romantic experience to share with your lover
Not much to say but it is a really beautiful beach with optimal views. The street to go there is a little bit rough and might hinder some people to go there. We went with our normal rental car and if you drive carefully it should be fine.

Great little cove with a lovely beach.
Also, great for snorkelling to watch the fish around you.
It can be approached by car, then it's a walk down a fairly steep path.
We came and left by kayak.

Actually it’s 4.5 stars - the road there is quite bumpy, and there is a 3€ toll entering at specific hours! The views - unbelievable. The water - crisp af. Reefs perfect for snorkeling and there are also other beaches near by where you can walk there! Watch out for „petermänchen“ we saw some of them! Also quite a lot people but the views and beach make up for it!

Beautiful beach and water, we went there by foot and it took around one hour. It was sunny with wind, have to say the way to the beach was really nice and interesting, it was like walking in the desert. The beach as said is nice, although super windy (June) and the sand comes to your eyes, water was super cold (18 or 19). The view is fantastic and one could take beautiful fotos.

Wow! I’m truly grateful to have visited this place and to have swam in the clear sea! It is lovely and warm in the water and there are amazing views!

There’s a man who sells drinks out of his van and they’re reasonably priced! The only downfall is there’s nowhere to go to the toilet!

I’d highly recommend a visit here if you are in Lanzarote, it’s one of the most beautiful places you’d visit.
Don’t give up visiting this beach because of the dirt road. It’s not a difficult road, just drive slowly. We went with a Fiat 500 and didn’t have any problems. Also some people are complying about paying 3 euros to enter the road and park the car. It’s not a big deal. Now, about the beach. Papagayo Beach is very beautiful and there are two restaurants there. But you can also bring your own food and drinks. There are stairs that help access the beach more easily. Unfortunately the weather was not great when we went and the water was freezing. But the view and the visit are worth it!

Beautiful secluded beach (we went early).

Nice sand and also little waves coming in. Our 5 year old loved it

Watch the Steps on way down. Saw hut on way though but we just drive straight though it, we did t see anyone taking the 3euros.

WARNING. The road is about 4k drive off road and your hire car WON'T be insured on this road as well as unlikely covered for tyre's. I'd suggest taking it easy. A few locals rip up and down it in jeeps. The roads are super wide though so no need for any inexperienced drivers to worry. Just take it easy speed wise.
