David and Adam at Carbide are nearing completion of a modular build on our 1940s Cape Code that almost doubled the square footage of our house. We could not be happier with how it turned out. Home renovation is daunting to say the least and a huge expense. Carbide walked us through the process patiently from start to finish. From the initial conversations, to design, financing, choosing finishes and the actual construction itself, David and Adam answered our incessant questions and made thoughtful and informed recommendations along the way. Their attention to detail has been excellent, often nitpicking things that I never would have even noticed. The house is beautiful. But honestly though, the reason I above all that I whole heartedly endorse Carbide is that they are GOOD guys. In an industry where you never know who you can trust, David and Adam are kind and ethical and do what's right to complete your project. They were open and honest with costs, what was going well, what they were worrying about. I never for one minute worried about their integrity or shoddy craftmanship. They felt like family for the time we spent together. My advice if you are considering Carbide for a modular build -

1. Do it! It's life changing!
2. Ask all the questions. Contractors manage multiple projects at once and don't always anticipate what your questions might be. Operate in a "pull mode" for communication and you will always get whatever information you need!
3. Don't underestimate the disruption of living in your house during a rebuild. It is 100% doable and a choice I would make again, but I definitely underestimated the impact it would have on daily life for a few months!
4. Choose Carbide! You will spend a lot of time with your contractors for a few months. Feeling like you can trust them to have your best interests at the center of the project is so important to your sanity and success.

This review is about customer service not about quality of work. I emailed the company stating our situation to see if it would be feasible to build within our budget. David asked that I give him a call. While talking, I told him while shopping around I received a turn key price of a certain amount. Instead of kindly saying he couldn't be in that range, he said, "I have no interest in $xxx,xxx." Like he is too good for the project and our money. I found his tone and comment extremely rude and condescending.

Total kitchen design and remodel. Rosa and design team created a gorgeous design to fulfill all our cabinet and design requirements, including build-ins. Ali (the owner), office management, and team worked with us to ensure project was completed to our satisfaction. End result is a gorgeous new kitchen .

Remodeled a large master bathroom into a true spa. Much more efficient use of space with improved storage and a luxury bathing experience. Clean and modern. A true improvement to my home value and my everyday experience.

Moving forward with a sunroom with change in design to my desires during the planning stage and another change without fuss when I had missed something.

David and his crew were fantastic. We added a modular addition to our rambler and from beginning to end, David was great to work with. David cares about his clients and is proud of his workmanship. He is honest and works hard.

We used Capitol for our kitchen remodel and are very pleased with end results. Kitchen project started at beginning of covid which introduced some scheduling delays but looking back I suppose that was to be expected. I can say that any demolition and buildout project can be a stressful time for the home owner, especially when you are lacking a kitchen however Steve was very responsive throughout and continues to be so even now. Any time I wasn't happy with design or buildout, Capitol made it right. We are really enjoying cooking and entertaining in our new kitchen. I appreciate the efforts of Rosa, Ali, Steve and Rudy...all top notch! They do a good job and I would suggest giving them an opportunity for your next remodel project.

We spent 3 years talking with several bathroom renovation contractors before selecting Capitol Design Build. The price we paid was less than the “high-end” contractors, but the service and materials we received were totally high-end. Ali worked directly with us as we spent many hours discussing what we wanted and considering the many, many different materials that Capitol Design Build offers. Ali’s suggestions were consistently spot-on, and his architect team drew our plans with great care, creating a perfect combination of beauty and durability, in a style that is timeless.

Ali’s workmen were on time but did not rush our construction – they took great care to make every seam perfect, every line straight and every color perfectly coordinated. And they brought us into the discussion every time. They are superb craftsmen. It is inevitable that on a project of this size a “glitch” or two will happen, but these men and women went above and beyond to be sure each issue was resolved 100% to our satisfaction during AND after construction.
