This place was fantastic! We were craving wonton soup with rice noodles, shrimp, beef, and beef balls, even though it wasn't on the menu. However, they made it happen, and it was incredibly tasty! 😋 We also tried the spring rolls, and everyone loved them. We'll definitely be coming back!

Ordered their dry egg noodle and it was SOOOO GOOD!!! the noodle has a sweet & savory flavor and it was really meaty… Everyone should try it, I travelled 20 miles to eat here. It’s worth it!!!

So good! We got the chicken wings, lemon grass chicken and beef fried rice. And combo dry noodles. Everything was outstanding and delicious. Highly recommend. We'll definitely be back next time we visit. The lemon grass chicken was my favorite

If you’re from Southeast Asia, all I can say is it will taste just like home. Definitely will be back.

I love the food from Ly Heng, they are unique in lot of way (cooking method, flavor, the soup), when you order an item, the item will come look exactly same as the menu, very appetizing. Both chicken wing and calamari appetizer are flavorful with right amount of garlic and pepper to boost the aroma.
Then come to the best part, the bone soup. When you order ride dish, usually it will come with a bowl of pork bone soup, the meat are very tender and tasty, the soup have good amount of fish sauce to help on the umami side.
Every rice dish is huge, but Hainan chicken and combination fried rice are my favorite by far.

I just don’t get it. I ordered student noodle, pad Thai, and a combo noodle soup. I called my order in on the phone and they said 20 minutes. I arrived 25 minutes later expecting my order to be ready, which my soup was but they didn’t even start my student noodle or pad Thai. I had to wait 20 more minutes before getting my food. While I was waiting I wanted to sit down but then the waitress looked at me like I wasn’t supposed to so I stood back up. 1/5 on service and atmosphere. Now the food. The student noodle and pad Thai were just terrible. It was dry and inconsistent so you get random bites of no flavor and bites of overly saltiness. See the pictures for how clumpy they were. The eggs weren’t cooked well either with burnt edges and sogginess. 1/5 on food.

Omg everything is soo delicious got the combo noodle soup dry with a large bone marrow broth plus Chinese donut stick

Chicken was NOT fresh. Had a strong refrigerator flavor. Yum... NOT.

Aye Caramba! Years of searching for a wonderful Teo Chew dry egg noodles (shrimp, fish ball and pork) with bone and broth has finally arrive. The last best place closed was Los Angeles Chinatown about 15 years ago. I’ve order extra noodles and one extra bone and broth for a total of $19.75 with a cold bottled water. I thought it would he at least $30. The last place in Long Beach my meal was $35 for a little amount of food but with Chinese donuts. Will definitely come here again and again!

Food was good, I got the beef and rice. Great sauce, a bit sweet but good. Service was friendly, nothing special. Good quantity for the price, worth a visit.

I fell in love with their fried rice!! We live in the area and found incredible reviews on this restaurant. One day we came to try their food and it was absolutely delicious. Just like the other reviews this place is a hidden gem here in City Heights. I always get the same order which is the House fried rice. Their food comes in big portions and I love to have left overs to enjoy the next day! I highly recommend this Chinese noodle restaurant to anyone!

This place is quaint but pumps out delicious food. If you don't get the salt and pepper squid you will regret it. I was told by a friend of mine that they sell out of the squid all the time. It is so much better than Italian calamari. I can't really explain how delicious it is, you just got to come here and try it. Parking is a challenge since it's all street parking in City heights so don't bring your nice car. Will definitely go back again.

Great food, good value, ok service.
Wandered in once when in the area.
Food- Ordered delicious and tender bbq chicken, hit all the right notes. Salad with what seemed to be shredded daikon was refreshing and slightly pickled in taste. Their house chili oil is a little heavy on the Chinese 5 spice flavor for me though. Generous portions too, I couldn’t finish and only payed $10.75 for my meal.
Service- took a while for me to get noticed waiting for my order to be taken, maybe 5-10 minutes. Also, they don’t give free water, only bottled for sale. No one checked on me while I was eating.
Good cleanliness, nice art, and lots of customers which must mean it’s stayed in business for a reason. A solid choice for Vietnamese and other pan Asian dishes.

First and foremost, amazing value! They really pile on the food for the price it’s kind of crazy how much will still be left in your plate after you finish your meal. The food is also DELICIOUS!! I definitely recommend the stir fry noodle with egg noodles and beef, and the house fried rice is a heaping plate of flavor. It’s a small family owned restaurant and they deserve every star, definitely bring your family and friends here :)

This place was great! We wanted wonton soup, with rice noodles, shrimp, beef and beef balls. It was not on the menu but they made it happen! It was so tasty 😋 we also had the spring rolls everyone loved it! Will come again!

My family and I use to go to this place a lot a couple years back and I finally revisited today. This is a great Vietnamese & Khmer restaurant with a lot of variety on the menu. I've loved everything I've tried from here but especially their stir fried noodles.
Today I tried the chou zhou noodles (hu tieu nam vang) which is one of my favorite foods. You can order the soup or dry version, but I opted for the soup. I usually go to another spot nearby for this, but it's not bad from here! It's cheaper (only $10.50 including tax) and doesn't include the intestines/liver, but the broth was so good. The pork was delicious and so tender. It also does not include green veggies and only had bean sprouts. For the price, it was a really fulfilling and delicious meal. I really enjoyed it, and it stayed hot until I got home.
This space is huge, I don't think there is ever a wait. Also don't be fooled and think there is just street parking because they have their own parking lot in the back.

My friends and I had a great first experience here! We are all from Canto region in China and the food here taste very authentic! I loved the combination noodle soup I got -- very good size, variety of ingredients, and really good flavors! I'll definitely come back here and highly recommend this place!

IS INFLATION A MYTH? How did they whip up our food in like 3 minutes? Why did my huge portion of soup (pictured) that came with 2 slices of duck, 2 shrimps, meatballs, a drumstick, a bit of pork and my choice between different types of rice or egg noodles, only cost 11.50? My buddy got the bone marrow soup (not pictured) and it was only 5 bucks! Quality food perfect for struggling students in the area (lol), hearty and healthy. The soups taste like pho soup btw.
Whatever garlic sauce/pieces they use are are also packing with flavor. They put it in our soups and also in the popcorn chicken. Just one thing to note though, all the garlic deliciousness are in one spot on popcorn chicken plate. I recommend picking some up and eating in conjunction with a piece of popcorn chicken.
Will be back. Prices like this are like a relic of the past that we need to take advantage of! What a gem of a place.

Oh my goodness… if you love finding hidden gem/ mom and pop own or privately owned restaurant that are so good, THIS IS ONE OF THOSE! I came here with some friends after a retirement ceremony down town and we tried everything we wanted and it was amazing!!
First we got the Chinese donuts with a side of warm condensed milk, at least I think that’s what it was. The donuts were so delicate but had an amazing crunch and the side dip of condensed milk was just the cherry on top! Just a nice sweet starter. Then we got sat and pepper calamari and salt, salt and pepper shrimp and egg rolls as appetizers (I know it sounds like a lot but I was with a few people) the salt and pepper seasoning on these was absolutely amazing! The peppers were so pronounced but not in an overwhelming way and it complimented the salt on both the calamari and shrimp! It was really such a beautiful stunning and tasty appetizer! We were trying not to take to many at once! The egg rolls were also delicious, nice fresh flavors inside them and just really delicate! My friends ordered the pad Thai which was pretty good. My other fried ordered orange chicken a it was so fresh! It taste like they had just made the sauce five minutes ago from actual oranges! It was so pure! And I got the bone beef stew with rice noodles and oh my goodness it was so wonderful! If you like pho you will enjoy this soup! It is not pho but PLEASE, don’t limit yourself to just pho because there are so many more soups out there! It was so light and fresh and the meat was so tender in it!
The staff was so nice and tentative to us! They were also very welcoming! Ugh I want to go back already!!

Tried the phnom penh noodles dry for the first time itnwas really good huge portions came with side of pork bone broth , the pork was so tender! My noodle side of soup and drink was 10 bucks deal!!

Food taste's great, portions size is great, only bad thing is if you wanna order by phone they never pick up, I have actually talked to actual staff about the issue and it has never changed, so don't waste your time trying to order by phone, just head straight there! My brother loves the house fried rice, I like the beef fried rice, my sister likes the fried calamari!

Came here around 5:30 on a Friday a little bit after they opened for the evening hours. I was the first customer for the evening so service was fine. Food also came out fast. I had the beef sate with thick egg noodles. Fresh, yet savory and slightly spicy, about a 4/10 on the spicy scale. It comes with a side of pork and broth, which was also delicious. It was my first time here and I'll definitely be back!

Went here twice to make sure the dish is consistent.
The beef satay egg noodles here is the best I have tasted in SD. The noodles were nice and firm. The sauce has a balanced peanut and spicy flavor. Although during my first visit, it was spicier than what I like. I requested a less spicy version during my 2nd visit and it was perfect! I am not sure what it's called, but theres a soybean(?) thing they have that you can add to the dish which adds a slight different flavor.
The dish also comes with bone soup. The soup is light, but flavorful. The meat is really tender and almost melts in your mouth. I like this one compared to the ones around the area because it's not as fatty.
Still reading? Beef satay noodles. Get it!
The tofu and calamari were decent.
I can't recommend other dishes since I have not had them...yet.
Update: Kitchen cant keep up during busy hours so expect quite a wait. Also, you can't order takeout for some reason.

I came in for my first visit at 9:56AM, and there was my server, greeting me with a menu in-hand. A good first step to a pleasant experience.
I ordered French beef with rice, wings, beef fried rice and a Heineken.
Delicious. Everything was perfect for a mid-morning vacation bike ride and brunch.
