Absolutely beautiful! The roads up the mountains have a ton of pit holes though. Any fallen trees have already been cut so it’s maintained. The trails are nicely taken care of and easy to find hiking entrance’s.
The experiences you can have in this National park are incredibly diverse - ridgeline hiking, rugged beaches, and temperate rainforests. Very well maintained trails and lots of visitor centers. Make sure you get an America the Beautiful park pass or an Olympic National Park pass if you're going to multiple places with the park because there are several entrances that collect fees. Definitely a beautiful park rain or shine.

A magical experience every time I enter this forest. Highly recommend, rain or shine. Nature is one of the best medicines! Get outdoors! (Picture: Spider Lake, September 10th, 2023)
So many hiking trails for the beginner to the adventurous who seek something a little more challenging. I have been coming out here for many yrs and have yet to get bored or accomplished all I plan to. Whether you want to plan something for the day or a few more days added on plan a trip to Olympic National Forest.
Gray wolf trail seeker! Difficult to navigate forestry roads. Small road markers are easy to miss. Trail markers are also easy to miss. Trail itself was amazingly beautiful!! Very few people on a Sunday in August.
Beautiful temperate rainforest... but was exceedingly dry when we hiked it July 8.
Lake Quinault is magical but truth be said now that we've lived in this area and hiked and played all over WA and OR this has fallen a few notches compared to Rainier and Bend Cascade Lakes. But still worth the trip.
This is one of the most magical parks I’ve been too. From blue lakes to mossy trees, it’s truly a gem. There aren’t many major stores around so bring everything you need with you. Many amazing well maintained camp grounds around. They also have some dispersed camping sites. Just bring water, food and clothes with you. So many rivers and creeks, we filled up all our water bottles from natural water sources. Such great tasting water.
Amazing all the way around! Plenty of camping and everything that comes with it! Rec sites and day use trails all over the place. Absolutely beautiful.
