The Manager Ms Govender is useless guys, the teller Phumzile at cashier 14 was extremely rude, when we confronted them both regarding their behavior no help was provided. Unfortunately this is the attitude of Checkers as a whole, they just don't care. Please don't waste your time at this store. We are every day shoppers there, my father is a pensioner and was treated with so much disrespect and it's evident our support is not wanted. PLEASE do me a favor and shop at PnP down the road, the service is world class compared to this place. Trust me, you'll thank me later.

Just want to vent that the manager Justin Naidoo and his assistant Ms Adams are both disrespectful, disregard our culture and are arrogant. They do not call back though I called over 10 times because they sent me objects that are against my religion. We do NOT eat pig. They forced this into my house by sending it via the 60/60 and when I queried it, they ignored my plea and they refused to help me!!! I am in shock about their sheer arrogance. Two days have passed and they have not bothered to call me back. Clearly they don't respect other religions and beliefs.

No issues at all , calm shopping. Only challenging was the boom gate as a new visitor there is no instruction how to open the boom gate I was frustrated a lot without help.

Today i bought a pack of braai pork chops from checkers at bluff towers when i opened the pack the meat smelt wrotten and it has a slimy texture won't ever buy meat from them again

I would like to appreciate the Manager by the name of Sakhile/ Sanele Mtolo if I am not mistaken. His customer service skills 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻.

Inside the store is quite good, with a well stocked bakery and prepared meals. The isles are well stocked and neat. The store, though, has a security issue whereby people ask others for money or to buy things on their behalf. Some of the people asking threaten other shoppers, flashing knives, to get what they want.

It's understandable that they can't monitor every shopper or have security in every aisle, but something needs to be looked at to ensure the safety of the patrons. Reporting this type of event to mall security is a waste of time as it's simply radioed in, but little to no actual security work can be witnessed. The mall itself isn't seen as very interested or doing anything to ensure the safety of shoppers.

The Glenwood area is littered with reckless Checkers delivery bikes zipping around ignoring traffic lights, stop streets, speed limits, and the safety of other motorists. Simply reckless. I have had enough, so will no longer shop anywhere near Davenport Centre. Nor will family and friends. Absolutely disgusting.

I actually do not shop at checkers davenport as often as I would like because you can never just pop in and out...they've got something wrong, because there's always always always long queues. At the cake/bread counter you dont know where to stand to get served..it's sort-of separated, but if you stand at cake side, you will wait forever. Staff are slow and not friendly.
I am surprised at some of the comments...I wonder how they can say it smells fresh and clean. You actually have a cramped feeling in this shop and I certainly don't feel a fresh and clean atmosphere.

Store is alright, well stocked, 9/10 find what you want and then some. Improvement on the cashier's speed during peak times may add value to the experience. Deli services and quality also need improvement.

12 years now i doing this job tiling and painting, carpenter, shower floors,waterproofing is well. Guys to be patient is important for you in life.

A really lovely place well set out and has such a variety. Modern and upmarket allows for pleasant shopping. Highly recommended and typical Checkers experience !

Management don't follow up with complaints they just don't care about the customer experience.
Announcements over the PA system is so loud its totally disrespectful to customers. When I say loud..... it's LOUD! Managers say they'll look into it but never do.
Service and attitude at the Lotto counter is shocking- again all complaints to management are ignored.
All in all the Checkers promise for quality service does not exist.

Their cold cuts fridge is so warm it's basically room temperature and you can see the food start to get that brown hard outer part around the edges. Not appetizing at all. The staff are great though so they get 2 stars for good staff.

It has improved. Obviously new management, as the cashiers are friendly, and the queues are quicker. Plus their wine shop is brilliant! Who would have thought you could buy wine from Italy? Its a good shopping experience! The rest of Checkers should use this place as a model!

The store is never fully packed, which makes it easier to shop.
