WE arrived without a reservation and were welcomed by the owner. The place is a maze of paths and screened rooms where butterflies are kept.
Our guide, Julian, was engaging and knowledgeable picking up butterflies, larvae and other insects for us to inspect and explained everything very well.
The larger room is very peaceful and relaxing where you can interact with the butterflies.

Make a reservation because this place is a great way to see many butterflies up close!! We stoped here as a halfway point between La Fortuna and Jaco and couldn’t have picked a better family to support. Diana was a great guide, very knowledgeable and able to answer all our questions. We loved the gift shop as many of the items were handmade by her and her family. Also, they have farm dogs who are the sweetest/friendliest pups around.

Spent almost 3.5 hrs with the owner walking around and talking. Very informative as he was a wealth of information not only about the butterfly but the plants, predators, etc. Highly recommend this educational and beautiful place
