Great place to ride or chill or get some good views
Design wise, it could have better flow, but in general it’s dope. You city kids are spoiled! It’s is riddled with junk though, and stinks of urine 😷

intimidating at first but once you get going you understand the flow of traffic within the park pretty well
It’s an amazing place, with skate street and park in good condition. The only point is that the bowl time isn’t respected as it is related on the city hall website. The only employee closes it early by himself and somedays it’s closed when officially should be open.
Best park I've ever been too, amazing downrails, ledges and decent transition
It’s across from 1 police plaza, don’t go in a giant circle lol
Partially open since May 2023. Currently, there is one basketball court, two pickleball courts, and a park area with benches and stairs that can be skated on.
Amazing skate park. Gorgeous sunset light on summer evenings.

Absolutely insane skatepark, the transition was massive and hard to skate but fun none the less, was in such a cool spot right on the water too, the locals rip
Great skatepark, mostly street stuff but some good quarter pipes too, was cool to see all the local people shred

Dope Skate Park. bring your own water and also there is no bathroom super close. if you drive you can find parking around some times it might need to be a few blocks away. I would be smart about what you bring to the park i would be smart about how and what you leave ina bag there. other wise park is big some time there are some flood spots when it rains.
Bowl is awesome, but its never open. Why did the city build this? Always around: parks workers who yell at you for trying to use the bowl. Rarely around: parks workers who let you in to use the bowl. Pier 62 figured out how to make this work, can they do something similar?

Terribly designed park. Most of the features are way too difficult for all but very advanced skaters. Unless you just like to kick turn on huge transitions. And no scooters allowed? Why? Came with my son (who rides a scooter) and he couldn’t ride.
Place had better days.
Hopefully this summer will go back there.
From my perspective, dude its closed down. Dont go till after matenance!
Currently unseshable as of 4/5/23

Stunning scenery and amazing flow. Best park in nyc for feel good skating.
I go here a lot. I take the A bus from union square park, and this place is so fun. People don’t care if you skate or scooter or BMX. The obstacles are good, but if you move things, people might get mad

Pier 62 Skatepark in Manhattan is known to be a popular spot for longboard skaters due to its smooth pavement, spacious layout, and variety of features to skate on. It's always a great feeling to find a spot that caters to your particular skating style, and being able to enjoy the freedom and exhilaration of longboarding in such a prime location.
Helmets at this skate park are advisable… unless you’d like to wind up a human paper weight with insurance denying your existence. Just saying though.

I like the park. Is for experienced people, not for amateurs. But u still have some simply spots to play arround if u want to anyways enjoy this skatepark. I love the location, into a big park with lot of nature and in front of the sea. U can see the sunset from there. Is really exiting to know this skate park for first time. I’m looking forward to comeback anytime soon!!!

Large park with humongous transition. Seems like it was built for bikes. The bowl in the back is fun, but overall the park is too EXTREME!
Huge skatepark with all kinds of features and a world famous double set. The flow isn’t great, it’s hard to cruise around the whole park without someone getting in your way.
My 17yo grandson loved it.
Listen, second time there and I’m notice that the park isn’t well care for. That’s a concern for me as I saw tons of broken glass In the area but not only the glass but the trash. So I went looking for NYC PARK employee and it a nice guy too but a low level maintenance job. What I didn’t like about his job was that he told me that someone was suppose to be there helping him and no one show, so I’d offer my solidarity to help but he said it take care of it.

He had a lot of work to do. And now I want to talk to the skate community as ThePandaPhotographer I know how and why this park was place here, show some love for the people that made this happen and clean the place up skaters. Real talk… I’m a rollerblader but as someone that has learn to accept life has those that make it hard, but that doesn’t mean we need to continue the cycle. So clean the park while you there. This is how we have better relationships and maybe nyc park will stop focusing their care on rich neighborhoods and care for this park. It’s not the only park area not being well cède for by #nycparks

So I’d made the decision to clean the park. And here are my photos. I also have video on U-tube as well. So my claims will stick hard and clean. Overall like the park and location too. Subway isn’t far away and food is near by as well. Right under the Manhattan bridge.
The problem with this skatepark is that it’s an issue to get to and out from. No handicap Accessibility at 108th Street for those that live or visit in the neighborhood. You have to enter all the way down at 96th street. Not a fan on the location of this park. Last time I been to this park was 2001 and all this remodeling and not talks about fair entrance for all. NYCParks need to make a skatepark in Central Park “such a better park” hands down
Great local outdoor concrete skatepark. Lots or ledges and places to grinde. Great 4' halfpipe. Awesome bowl with an 8'&12' section.
Not sure how to feel about this.. it’s closed indefinitely
Great historic Sk8 place, anyone knows what happen to the guy who ran Benji Bolts nearby, I think on James Street in the 90s? Cool Dude and best shop!
Great time! So much fun skateboarding
This park is rad. Solid flow, insanely fun mini. A decent variety of obstacles for rail and ledge skaters. There’s even some space to skate flat ground or get weird on a bank to slappy. Can get crowded with scooter kids at certain times, but overall one of NYC’s best.
So many rippers. Other than a few small areas where the flat concrete is showing its age, this park is in great shape and has a lot of everything from small chiefs and manual pads to stairs, rails, hips, kickers, a giant apple...if you're coming to NYC to skate this is a must visit park. Nice and gritty, like going to SF in the 90s.
Seems to be temporarily closed. There is a fence that closes the place off completely.
I didn't see any information on how long it will be closed/when it will re-open.
Empty!!! Construction OUT n Sk8/BMX r back! Riding the Banks is epic and rolling the bricks one feels the legends whom rolled before you ... have RESPECT for the Banks and it’s surroundings, leave it better then u find it, help its comeback so future riders! ☮️💟
