i absolutely love the course. all the golf you desire @ 7300+ yards. nice lil shot selection needs to be made throughout. Also has some elevation changes in Houston which is pretty rare.
Only negative I have with the course is how easy it is to lose equipment here. Once I tossed a hybrid range finder to cart after taking distance. missed the seat and it went under cart. hit my tee shot and drove off forgetting it was under cart. tee off on hole 4 next hole only realize I left it on ground. Went back to hole 3 to get it. As I drove up to the green another 2some was arriving. feeling relieved I asked hey you guys see a range finder on ground at tee box. both replied no. strange, I ride back to tee box and it's not on ground. i go back to hole 2 to see if by chance someone got it and decided to turn around to avoid me. no dice. returned to 2 some asked again. One guy in particular was acting very nervous and weird . he actually was looking guilty as I first drove up. We had a small exchange. so I chalked it up. Another time I dropped. a wedge on the 13 green. i see a person come to green as I'm on 14 tee hitting my shot. i play 14 par 3. Beging to tee off on 15 waiting on the person to catch up thinking he'll hand over the club.
Well wouldn't you know after I hit my tee shot. i looked back and he disappeared. I rode back to find him he was gone. rode to Green to look for club. it's gone. Frustrated as heck I finish round. Ask if someone by chance returned it

i decide to back track the course to find this kid. well it did but when he saw me coming up he tried to avoid me by driving in the fairway from the tee box. i cut over pulled up and wouldn't you know it. darndest thing my wedge was in his bag.
this is a well to do area and it wild how they do not return your property in your face! Be careful not to be normal and leave your things behind on tee boxes or greens. they will not be returned even if the person can visibly see you in front of them!

I recently hosted an event and attended two others at Sterling Country Club, and I cannot recommend it highly enough. The process of booking my event was seamless, thanks to the incredible support of the event director, who made planning an enjoyable experience. The club's amenities are top-notch, with elegant and customizable event rooms, excellent recreational facilities, and well-maintained grounds adding a touch of beauty.

The catering at Sterling Country Club was outstanding, offering a wide selection of delicious and beautifully presented dishes that cater to diverse tastes and dietary requirements of the people attending my event. I hosted a formal event on May 4th at Sterling Country Club for my son's couple shower. As mentioned above, this was a formal event, so I upgraded the room to have plenty of space. Sterling Country Club did not offer acceptable table cloths nor napkins, so I had to rent my own. There were several chairs that were torn up and in terrible shape as well. When asked if there were covers available, I was informed that they were $4 dollars a piece. I was only provided a two hour window for set up, which was not an adequate amount of time given the formality of my event. I was forced to use an hour out of my party towards setup which I felt was very unfair for the price I paid, which was over 5k. My guests had to wait for several minutes for food to be replenished and drank out of disposables cups when ordering from the bar. This is not ideal for a formal event. There were no wine glasses provided for the wine. Though I was paying a large tip in my fee for the event, a tip jar was still placed for guests at the bar which I found extremely inappropriate, especially when guests were drinking out of plastic cups!!!
I had a difficult time working with the event coordinator and felt as though I was walking on eggshells throughout our communication. To make matters worse, an envelope with money went missing during my event set up. Due to an inadequate amount of time to clean up, guests had to stay and help me take down the room. I was only given one hour to clean up a formal event or else pay an extra $150.00. My son, who we were doing the shower for, was told by a staff member to sweep the floors and put stuff in a trash bag at one point in the evening. I also felt very nickeled and dime as every request was followed up by an up charge!!! I was allowed to bring my own dessert, BUT I was informed that I would have to supply my own napkins, plates, and silverware. That is beyond ridiculous for a country club with an event space. The overall experience was the worst I've ever had, and renting this country club for a formal event is NOT recommended. I definitely will not be using Sterling Country Club again!!! I did file a complaint with the manager, who also never got back to me.
Also, I find that use of a credit card, resulting in a 3% percent charge, is outrageous.

Held a Baby Shower for about 75 people and everything went smooth. The staff was very helpful and attentive and the food was good too. Sterling Country Club did a great job on our event!

The Gala at the country club was the most fun I’ve had in a long time.. music was so great! The night flowed perfectly and I had so much fun I didn’t even take any pictures! We will be back for the next one!

This course is in terrible condition. The greens have recently been redone, but the tees, fairways and rough are awful. The course has a great layout and potential to be a very nice track, but it needs seed, sod, fertilizer and water for about 2 months without play. I understand it is a public tournament course with heavy traffic, but the current condition is inexcusable.

I played yesterday and for $81 dollars.... First there was a shortage of golf carts, then the ones we ended up with ran terrible. Course not in great condition, greens hard, fairway may bare spots. The good part you get free lunch. Change will need to be made before I paly again. Didn't play on the membership side (Sterling Country Club) wondering were they any better.

Beautiful Property in the Heart is Memorial! The staff was kind and attentive while hosting the OU Club of Houston during a reception with The University of Oklahoma‘s current president.

Played this weekend. 2nd rate. Filthy carts and windshields, ball cleaners removed, almost no distance markers, no hole layout maps via signs nor cards… Every muni I’ve played in the Houston is a better facility. Never told cart path only on all holes. Nor were any of the other 3 I played with. Some angry fool comes barreling up in a cart to yell at everyone for his coworkers failure to communicate to patrons…

I was able to attend a wine dinner at this country club on January 19th, and I can say it was a pleasant experience. The club in itself is beautiful and clean. The staff is welcoming and nice. Kaci was able to help direct us to the dinner area and was available for any help the rest of the night. The wine dinner was great in terms of the atmosphere, and the food was extremely delicious which paired greatly with the Daou Vineyards collection. Jeremy was very personable and attentive to ensuring the flow of the event was smooth. The event was fun and I enjoyed the entire night. Overall I had a great time and will plan to attend another event in the future.

Course in terrible shape. Fairways bare. Bunkers like concrete with water standing in some of them. And just discovered that they charged my credit card$10.48 just to make the reservation on their web site.

I attended the State of the Economy meeting and it was an amazing experience. The Country Club was beautiful inside. The staff had great hospitality and great food.

Shoots off fireworks late at night disturbing families in the area. Figure out another way to celebrate, fireworks are trashy and disruptive.

I was just there an hour ago and for me it is a terrible service as well as the cleaning, the vacuuming and the cleaning in front I no longer recommend it, they damage the cars, they damage the windows and they charge very high, the receptionist in front is very annoying and does not answer the people are very good and they are very rude to the customers please owner you need to make a change because if not that business is going to go down very bad service and I will never come back to wash my truck. I don’t recommend that place .

Golf Course looks good considering the dry Summer We've just experienced. When You have a chance to attend an Event there, go! Fantastic Staff too! Great place for a Wedding Venue if You're a Member or know someone who is and is willing to Sponsor You! Enjoy!

My husband and I attended a wedding here. The country club and grounds were beautiful. The staff was amazing and friendly. The food was delicious.

Course has a good layout but is in terrible condition, be ready to hit irons and chip off of hard dirt ground. There’s almost no green grass left on the fairways If they get a hurricanes worth of rain or sprinklers installed it would be a nice place. Great clubhouse and food though.

Absolutely beautiful! The service was top notch. The Golf Course was very well kept and cared for. The members love this place and speak very highly of it.

World-class course and service!

Restaurant was very good. Lunch on Saturday had a menu that was half price. Flank steak was delicious. Salad was crisp. Quesadillas were good. Enjoyed the quiet setting and attentive service.

My wife and I have been members for about a year. The course has been in excellent shape, and the staff is second to none. We struggled with the Investment that was required to become a member, I can honestly say all of those fears have been put to rest. We definitely use it enough to justify the expense. We were golfers so we didn’t think we would use the other facilities that much but we have recently gotten in the pickle ball after taking a clinic from the pro and we also enjoy working out in their state of the yard workout facility. The members are down to earth and the staff keeps everyone involved.

I attended a luncheon meeting/ presentation here this week. The Main Street up to the club house was very eye appealing. Beautiful landscape in the road median. The clubhouse was enormous and well appointed. Very nice upkeep. The presentation hall was grand, the food was nicely prepared and the service was tops.

The cy fair orchestra has their banquet here every year and I just have to say this place will make high school a memorable time and their raspberry tea is good as well as the chicken parm.

Pine Forest Country Club just hosted our annual tournament to benefit Houston Firefighters on May 15. This was after days and days of drenching, soaking rain. But we were still able to play. The course was in great shape. All of the staff at Pine Forest are extremely nice, helpful and professional. You can tell they take great pride in their club. We have been at Pine Forest for several years and I will say I don't think you could find a better place to host an event. It is a real pleasure to work with Evangelia, Tommy, Marci and all the staff there to put this together. First class all the way from the golf to the lunch.

The operations manager Louis, is rude and very condescending, especially towards women. He’s very dirty and disorganized, dirty table cloths, scoops ice with ceramic plates, no ice scoops, does not adhere to any sanitary procedures. Not to mention, he’s incredibly RACIST. Would NOT recommend at all. Go somewhere else for events!!!!!

We attended the Easter Brunch today and had a wonderful time. The staff was attentive, kind and professional. The food presentation was outstanding. The entire morning was filled with fun, laughter and was an enjoyable experience for the entire family! Well done Royal Oaks!

The experience was amazing!!! We visited the club for a conference and had the honor of walking the whole club showing us their amenities. In the evening we were also presented with a cocktail reception and an amazing 4 course dinner. Loved it!

An incredible venue. Perhaps one of the most beautiful settings around. The architecture and ombiance os state of the art. This place is top-notch with excellent management, impressive service, great food, and the restrooms are as clean as I've ever seen. This entire facility / resort / events center is as classy as they get. An excellent place for any event, weddings, fundraisers, or large parties. The food is very good, and they also have a ton of parking as well as valet service. I definitely recommend this venue for anyone looking!

Shout out to Evangelia! As we were planning our wedding, PFCC never crossed our mind. There were not many pictures nor reviews about this venue. However, after getting disappointed with other venue coordinators unprofessionalism, Eva was the reason why we gave PFCC a try. From the first phone call to after our wedding day, she made it very pleasant to work with. Most importantly, she is super patient with our changes and my endless questions for almost a year.

Her excellent customer service, promptness, making us feel like we were her only clients, and exceeding our expectations (we have high expectations when it comes to customer service, because we are also in the customer service industry) are some of our favorite traits about Eva!

We got so many compliments about how beautiful the venue was (even on a rainy day) and great food and drinks.

We want to give this place negative stars because of their unprofessional event coordinator Allyson, but the option is not available.

Allyson took forever to reply to our email (like once every 3 weeks) and was never available for a phone call, yet she told us to set an appointment to get a hold of her, when she was too busy to respond to our emails and phone calls.

One time she said she couldn’t return our phone call because she had to leave the office before 5pm to pick up her sons at daycare or else they would charge her by the minutes.

After making us wait for her responses for a few months, she said there is a chance the club was going to have construction during our wedding day.

But it doesn’t look like the club has any construction as of today.

We wasted months of planning, because of Allyson , but glad that we experienced this in the beginning before putting down the deposit and committing to have our wedding here.

I love meeting people and networking at the Houston Country Club! We have an incredible monthly event called the Toolbox Ministries! I highly recommend looking into this!

We love the members and staff! The food and club activities are great and very entertaining. We enjoy and have fun every time we come out to Pine Forest Country Club. We enjoy Golf, Tennis, Pickleball, Mahjong, Poker. There is a great pro-shop. The Golf pro and tennis coaches are very knowledgeable and really helpful at improving your game. There is a great venue with a beautiful view of the well maintained golf course to share great memories. If you want to throw a party, wedding this is your place. The staff is so attentive!
It really is a great safe place to hangout with little kids by the pool or check them into the childcare center. A nice place with crafts and playtime with staff and other children.
We round up our teenagers for all the fun activities they have weekly. We enjoy great meals with another special menu that menu changes weekly. Delicious food all the time!!! ⛳️

Fun patio bar off the golf course. Went with a friend in a Friday night. Very enjoyable crowd. Kid friendly and spacious area. They have TVs and outdoor space heaters with lots of tables for all size groups. The service was terrific and the martinis were great! Greg took good care of us. The atmosphere is comfortable. No stuffy, snootiness here! Love that!
We went inside to have dinner. Eric was very attentive. We ordered the calamari which was fantastic! We had an order of gumbo to go since they were about to close. I didn’t get a photo, but it was very tasty! They give you lots of club cracks with the gumbo. Highly recommend both the calamari and gumbo!

The operation manager for the banquet hall is very rude. The place is absolutely gorgeous but the service is horrible. Dirty table clothes . Food stain on chairs. Only gulf wouldn’t recommend eating. The food presentation should be a lot better for the amount of money you spend there.

Great course in great condition. They have a good deal where they include a burger and a beer when you book directly with them. You also get free unlimited range balls to practice. Greens were in good condition as were the fairways. Staff and friendly and helpful.

Wow golf course is incredible

As a member I’m probably biased, but the golf course after the latest renovation is one of the purest golf courses in Texas. The staff is as friendly and helpful as any in Texas. The members are also nice people.

So..we grew up maybe a mile away, just south of Memorial. My gp’s had the membership. My dad took me fishing there every Sunday..me and my father’s other children went to summer camp every year there, and they had their own bus pick us up off of Memorial (with monogrammed clothes, bags, tennis rackets, etc). And my grandparents were so well received, no matter that my DadDad had passed, they still greeted us like Royals and took care of my grandmother. I was very young when that happened, but I remember after playing a round with him and then going into the mens’ locker room (which had its own separate bar) - I remember him being greeted by so many and him accepting the offers to give me a cherry coke or whatever.

(And don’t even ask me how incredibly, beautifully, awesome, their free firework shows were and how important they were to the community and the spirits they lifted).

My family’s biggest weekly, or maybe it was monthly, function was the fried chicken night they’d have. I don’t mean some popeye’s or kfc stuff…this was a gourmet, top-notch, 5* family meal. I can still picture the sweet man’s face that would come and love my MeMaw and lift her spirits so much. Really wish I could remember his name.

I had friends who belonged to HRC and the Houstonian etc, even one being a sibling of a pro that doubled with McEnroe. And my mom hit a hole in one on 12 at age 12.

There was class in the ‘80’s people forget about. While we’ll never be able to afford a membership again, I really hope this heritage has been passed down to other kids and they get to experience the Classiness at Lakeside I grew up with. It was so cool to be a 8,9,10 year old boy dressing up and feeling like an AllStar CEO or something. …they always made you feel like the most important person. …were a huge part of our lives

I understand the club had a total makeover after Harvey. What an awesome job they did! The grounds and Country Club are beautiful. The service was impeccable. I went for a benefit luncheon for The West Houston Alliance Ministries. What an awesome call to have it here. The food was good as well.

Love coming here every year for the Clay Court Championship! They update it every year and this past one was the best yet! The overhaul of the entire event was amazing! Sad that the championship falls on Easter this year so we will not be able to attend. The one thing that needs updating are the stands. They are very tight and not comfortable at all; hardly any leg room.

Had company's crawfish boil on first Sunday in May 2019. The country club is big and nice with golf, tennis, swimming pool and lots of trees.

My neighbor took me as her guest to an event that was held at the Braeburn Country Club. (Neither of us our members.) The self parking was easy; there is valet, of course, and the valet parkers where very nice in greeting me even though I self parked. The room the event was in was very nice. There was a runway for a fashion show and the material used on the runway was pretty shoddy looking (the material on the walkway as well as the skirts on the walkway). The food (a steak and chicken combo dish) was outstanding. I didn't think you could take leftovers, so I ate the steak and the chicken after devouring the delicious starter salad, too. (Note: You can take leftovers.) The crème brule (sp.) dessert was not good at all (it was very gloppy!), but the others at the table ate it all. I didn't need it anyway. My most constructive criticism for Braeburn management was for the lady who answered the phone when I called in advance to ask about parking and to confirm the location of the entrance off of Bissonnet. I felt like I had to pull information out of her to learn the exact location of the club and how they handled parking. Not friendly or helpful at all. Bad first impression.

My first time at the Houston Country Club was for a fundraising gala and it was a great experience, overall. The staff there were very friendly. The facilities were very nice considering they had to set up 25 tables. I didn't get to see much else, but they've got a golf course and I think a tennis court.

This place is amazing! The members and employees have been such a breath of fresh air! The golf course is great and the place makes for a fabulous wedding venue. It also has space for smaller parties as well. If you never had Royal Oaks treatment, you are missing out! Check it when you can. You won't be disappointed in your choice!

Without a doubt, one of the most gorgeous wedding reception venues in Houston, Texas. Excellent service and formidable wedding coordination make this wedding reception venue one the best!

A great, old Houston golf course that was designed in 1926 by John Bredemus with help from Jimmy Demaret, who went on to become one of the founders of Champions Golf Club with Jack Burke, Jr. Brademus designed BraeBurn shortly after his more well-known Houston masterpiece, Memorial Park Golf Course.

In 1992, BraeBurn underwent a significant renovation that was partly funded through a contribution from the Harris County Flood Control District, which now uses BraeBurn as a temporary flood control area during periods of heavy rain. The late Carlton Gipson, a well-known designer of golf courses throughout the coastal plain of Texas, designed the renovation and moved substantial amounts of earth in creating interesting elevation changes that were not a part of the original design. The result was a more interesting and delightful course that places a premium on shot-making.

In 2021-22, the club hired Tripp Davis of Norman, Oklahoma to update and renovate the course again. Davis used the same routing of the original course, but he and his firm rebuilt and reshaped the greens, contoured the fairways, rebuilt and shifted tee boxes, and rebuilt the bunkers in a more classic style. The course was reseeded with NorthBridge Bermudagrass and a new irrigation and drainage system was installed.

The result is spectacular. Although not as well-known as the courses at Houston's two most prominent country clubs -- River Oaks and Houston Country Club -- BraeBurn's course is every bit the equal of those courses. If you get a chance to play BraeBurn, I highly recommend it.
