I was actually waiting for Madeline outside to pick her up from work while you were at typo doing your last minute shopping right at closing. I saw from outside that Madeline was very stressed and had a line up until past closing, yet she was still inside serving customers until past 5:10. If you really came in at 4:40pm, 20 minutes before closing, and you only made it to the counter at 5:02, you spent over 20 mins deciding on what to buy in a store that was closing, and then insisted she individually wrap each of your mugs.
Considering your retail background, one might expect more empathy. Madeline advised on coming earlier for such requests, a common courtesy regardless of one's background. A 1-star review seems unjust, given Madeline's extended assistance, allowing you to stay beyond closing and her shifted work time. She maintained professionalism, never blaming you, and even accommodated your late request.
Gratitude for service past closing should be acknowledged as a commendable customer service standard instead!!!

went to typo to do some Christmas shopping and was met with an amazing staff who were super helpful. special shoutout to a lady with dark hair and glasses (think it was madeline), she was extremely bubbly and had amazing suggestions. made my shopping experience so much more streamlined and stress free
staff was super friendly and helpful with my shop. madeline helped me choose gifts for my kids that they absolutely loved.
Really bad shopping experience, bad attitude staff named Madeline. The store closes at 5pm and I came in around 4:40. There was a long queue when I lined up so it turned out to be 5:02 when I made the payment. The staff talked in a very impatient and rude manner saying that it’s my fault and I should have came earlier, making her work difficult because she’s closing the store late. It’s not my fault that the queue was long which caused her to close the store late. I’m very unhappy about this shopping experience.
I was served by Sandra today who was absolutely lovely. She was very helpful when I was telling her what kind of gift I was trying to buy. She made some great suggestions. Amazing customer service
