This place is a true gem! Worcester needed a refillery and this place is so much more. So many local crafts, great classes, eco-friendly products, and community events. This is my go-to spot for unique gifts.
Recently had 3 prints framed, and they came out spectacular. We are extremely happy with the service, communication, and end product. The store is a little gem.
One of the key cultural institutions of the City of Worcester and a valuable community resource for art education/development of creativity. The museum has a surprisingly good permanent collection of Western art from the Middle Ages through the present. Excellent curatorial staff that keeps both permanent and temporary exhibits in top shape. An outdoor garden with seating is accessible to visitors. Snack bar in the main hall area; gift shop by the main entrance; and cafeteria is first level below grade.
This museum really does have an impressive collection, but whoever is in charge of painting these galleries needs some guidance. As someone who considers going to museums and viewing art a hobby of sorts, I was fully distracted by the mismatched patches of paint everywhere.

Love BCAW! Great place to poke around, stock up on cleaning supplies, soaps, and sustainable home products. A go to stop for gifts, art, and handmade goods.
We just had our 7-year old’s kitty craft themed birthday party at BCAW today, and the whole experience from planning to party was stress-free and completely seamless. So many fun and adorable details—everyone had such a good time! Thanks again, Babs & Kim!
My favorite museum, for many reasons. Okay, I'm a bit biased because my spouse and I were married here in 2023 (ceremony in the Chapter House and reception in the Renaissance Court). But after a couple years of visiting, being enthralled by the collection and special exhibitions, there was a reason why we chose WAM to celebrate our special day. It's because Worcester Art Museum is amazing! I love museums, but oftentimes I feel overwhelmed by how much they usually have to see and feel like I rush through them, or intentionally only visit some rooms of choice vs. seeing the entire museum. Boston's Museum of Fine Arts is a prime example of this; it's amazing, a true cultural icon, but you definitely need to visit more than once to be able to truly absorb everything. WAM is, in my opinion, the perfect size, well within the Goldilocks zone of museums. It's not too big, it's not too small, everything feels just right. Interactions with employees have always been extremely pleasant on every visit, and I can personally attest that our wedding coordinators were beyond amazing. A true gem.
Where else can you go on a cool Spring Sunday and sit in silence amidst beautiful art? The exhibits are lovely. Be sure to weave around to the back wing where public school students have their art displayed. There is nothing more inspiring than children being able to explore their creative nature.
I love having a refillery in the neighborhood! Great little shop with sustainable cleaning supplies and gifts and other items. They put on community events featuring local vendors throughout the year. Highly recommend stopping by!
Such a cool museum! They have a variety of different kids of art (painting, sculpture, pottery, carvings, etc) from several different cultures and time periods including a reconstructed cathedral room. There are a smattering of touchable or even wearable recreations of period pieces for the younger kids to explore.
The BCAW is a very special place. Not only do they have a well-stocked and well-organized refillery but they also have wonderful unique gifts (yes, you can also treat yourself!) with new items added frequently, and the most helpful, patient and kind staff working at the store each and every visit.

I love this place! Bring your empty or partially empty containers and fill them up with quality products. Whether you are looking to save money, reduce plastic consumption or support local artists and vendors, Burncoat Center for A&W is where you need to go. The owners are super nice and they offer a variety of classes. I learned how to add color to my own soap making skills. Highly recommend!
A wonderful gem so close to home! Special points for being fully handicap accessible, even in a snow covered winter month like January in New England. We were drawn to visit by the museum because of the Rembrandt exhibit of beautiful (yet tiny) etchings. Spent about four hours exploring and know there was much more that we were forced to save for another visit. Easy to get to, plenty of accessible parking, great wheelchair ramps, friendly, polite, and helpful staff — a great outing with my dad. Highly recommend WAM. And while you’re in town, some other beautiful old church buildings and other architecture if you’re into that sort of thing. The Roman and Greek sculpture is always my favorite, but many individual galleries of painters, sculptures, medieval armor and weapons, beautiful mosaics, and more. I’ll post a few photos, but didn’t take very many.

It had been several years since Id been to the museum. What brought us back this time was to.view the wonderful Denholm exhibit. We were greeted by a friendly and knowledgeable volunteer. From there we made our way through the museum's permanent exhibits that are very informative and with each visit I learn something new! We very much enjoyed the Denholm exhibit. Viewing it brought us both back to our own happy days 😊
A true gem. There are many interesting thematic exhibitions while their permanent collection is expansive in terms of period and geography. I loved the collection of early New England artwork.
A well designed art museum having a wide variety of paintings, sculpture and most surprisingly a whole mosaic from Ancient Turkey. Unfortunately several rooms are closed and the elevator is not working. Parking free and spacious. The museum officers are kind and friendly. There some educational activities for children on weekends. You can reserve your tickets cheaper by using your local library network.
We visited on 1st sunday of july which means we got a free entry. Loved how a heavy rainy day turned fruitful by visiting this absolutely beautiful museum. Loved all the arts and artworks here. Parking is free and might be a tiny bit difficult to park if you go 1st sunday of a month.

It was Wednesday day at 1 pm so there weren't that many people. A very open space with very interesting pictures. Additionally there were old swords and guns on display.

The WHM is an amazing place to see. It is fascinating to see and learn about all those who were part of Worcester's great history. From inventors, famous poets, artists, founders, planners, sports stars, and all those who paved the way to make Worcester such an interesting place to be. Trying to imagine the streets filled with people cheering people like Marshal Taylor or Bob Cousy is easier to imagine walking through this gem of a museum in Worcester. I look forward to the upcoming Denholm's exhibit!
Beautiful place with lots of nice stuff to buy. I brought in paintings to see how I should mount them. The painter was very helpful, giving several ideas, helping me with quotes for different methods, etc. I appreciated his expertise.
Love it! Is a place with lots of things to learn from Massachusetts even to know the real creator of the famous Smiley Face Emoji 😊😘😂😔🥴😋🥰. If you are around Worcester Ma you can't miss it !!
The Burncoat Center for Arts and Wellness has brought so much to our neighborhood! Where do I even begin??? There are classes and events for all ages and every month there are new and exciting classes to try! My kids have done arts and crafts classes, I’ve had tarot card readings, block printing, yoga, and natural remedies (what a variety)! I buy pretty much all of my household cleaning products from BCAW now and have significantly reduced my plastic use! Hand soap, cleaner, laundry sheets, shampoo, conditioner etc. I don’t know anyone else who has a store with sustainable products so close to home. Then there’s gifts for everyone for all occasions! A birthday? Going to BCAW! Christmas gifts? Stop by BCAW! And then there are the festivals!!!! Haven’t been? Come to the next one to see for yourself what a beautiful community BCAW has brought together. I can not say enough good things!
I love everything about BCAW. The store is full of unique items made by local artists; they're always having great classes and events; the refillery is amazing; and lastly the owners, Kim and Barbara, are just the best! They've created so much more than a store. They've created a community where all are welcome. I can't recommend BCAW enough.
Absolutely delightful! Finally visited with my 2 boys. Sadly we arrived after school and the museum closes at 4pm so we couldn't see the upper floors.
The staff is so friendly and very helpful. We had a great brief history of medieval weapons and armour which my boys enjoyed very much.
They have a diversity of art work, from paintings to sculptures and jewelry.

A gorgeous art museum found in the second largest city in Massachusetts. While most tourists may gravitate to the museums in Boston, this one should not be overlooked. Their permanent collection consists of art and items from around the globe and include the Higgins Armory Collection after that museum closed several years ago. The rotating galleries always feature a new, fascinating collection. I'm fortunate enough to have seen the Jewels of the Nile exhibit and was blown away by the presentation. Truly a must visit for art lovers!
We recently had a pair of sketches framed here, and we could not be happier with the result! Norman was very helpful in the initial consultation, giving some suggestions that were very helpful and helping us achieve the exact look we were going for with the final piece. The piece took much less time than we’ve experienced at other places before and so much care is evident in the little details of the framing. The materials are all top quality and, well, like I said we couldn’t be happier. We will definitely be back!
I've been here at the Worcester Historical Museum 5 times in the pasted few years, with family this is a beautiful Museum dedicated to our wonderful amazing City of Worcester MA! The reason that brought us in to go to the Worcester Historical MA this pasted Tuesday 8-16-22 , was that my 96 year old Grandfather is coming to visit from Florida with my 94 year Grandmother, we wanted to get him the the wicked cool black tee- shirt that ("say's all the different ways you can Pronounce WORCESTER ")! I'd gotten one a few years ago pior, my grandfather lived in Worcester MA, many years ago. So this shirt has some meaning behind it. This Museum is a great place to go to with young children and adults . It was (FREE Admission ) for us to enter if Im correct It's been (" FREE Admission since Middle of July till the End of August 2022") ,this is another part of celebrating Worcester 300th Tercentennial . Also, during the entire month of February they usually run " FREE " Admission because the kids that are in the Worcester Public schools are on February vacation! Great time to go too! A few things did change, I'd noticed that a few things were up & running at the Museum! Not many people there when we were there.
After our son died we asked Norman Ringdahl to put together two large shadow boxes that contained his precious toys, medals and other memories of him. Norman took so much care in placing the items in the shadow box. The framing and the glass were absolutely meticulous and perfect! You could see that he was doing it out of great care and thoughtfulness. He did a beautiful job with the boxes! We are very grateful.
This is a fantastic art museum with a wide array of well organized paintings, sculptures, relics, and special exhibits. We went specifically for the Higgins collection of medieval arms and armor. I also enjoyed the collection from the National Portrait Gallery. Staff and docents were friendly, and the scavenger hunt for my 9yo son was fun. With the holidays, they also had decorated trees, a guest train layout, and various activities from ice carving to hands-on armor tryouts. The proximity to parks and historical sites makes WAM and Worcester overall a great day trip.
I love exploring new museums and this was a hidden gem!! It was so fun learning about the history of Worcester. I also took some souvenirs home from the gift shop! Will definitely be checking out the Salisbury mansion too! Thank you....
I reached out to this shop because I learned that they carry one of my favorite artist's work. Although I didn't visit in-person, I received wonderful customer service from Norman and Christine. They sent photos for me to peruse, when I needed close-ups, they provided additional images, and shipping was done with great care. I am so grateful for their help, and hope to find more items in the future!

The museum is relatively small, but there is a lot of stuff packed in, particularly in the room filled with all the industries that have called Worcester home throughout the years.
We also drove the short distance to the Salisbury Mansion (part of the museum). The tour we got was a little rushed as it was the end of the day, but the guide was incredibly knowledgeable and it was both fun and interesting.

Went to Visit the For the Record GLBQ+ Exhibit. Easy to get to. Easy parking. Low price admission. Greeted at the door by friendly volunteer staff. Temporary exhibits are right off the lobby and were easy to find. Well lit and spacious halls. Great local museum. A real treasure.

I had an original oil painting, over 100 years old, with a rip in the canvas and so dirty you could barely see what was painted on it. I had seen youtube videos of art restoration and knew it would take some talent to restore the painting. I took it to The Prints and the Potter Gallery where they restored my art work and it is now masterpiece that I treasure. I had no idea they could make this painting come alive the way they did. It is beautiful thanks to their excellent professional work.
This store is absolutely beautiful the service was attentive and what they have is lovely handmade eclectic forms of art that can be gifts. There are some jewelry pieces at a lower price point but I was looking for a gift for a friend and found it difficult to find something affordable. It is not a large place and definitely high-end but the pieces they have there are top notch.
Provided good instruction for our girl scout troop. They learned how to make and glaze a clay pot. The kids we very into it and the teacher kept their interest the whole time. Dei keep well go back during one of their drop in times!
