The service was excellent, as was the food. I was impressed they had GF and DF options. The chef even made some small meringues for us, which were delicious.
30 January 2024

We ( 2 persons ) have lunch at The Gallery 12pm. Our order is Monet champagne and Grilled Salmon. We are not disappointed at all, presently surprised with the quality on both services and food.

Grilled salmon was very well presented and cooked just right combination with the sides.

We were treated with a beautiful plate of cheese cake as birthday desert on the house.

Great space and comfortable furniture, not crowded nor noisy. Just how I preferred.

I am not comparing Sheraton with Crown, Park Hyatt and other 5 stars hotel. The Gallery is worth its presence, F&B have improved nicely…. !

I am happy to return for another lunch / dinner.
Visit every time we go to Sydney, never disappoints. Great food, lots of options at an an affordable price.

I was underwhelmed by the experience. The entry to the Sheraton is spectacular, then you are seated toward the back in a room with little aircon and low chairs. The food was reasonable but not what I expect from a high tea. The buffet style didn’t excite.
There were 3 stations, one of which was basically a charcuterie board. The desserts weren’t amazing and there were no cucumber sandwiches - an important item in a high tea for me.
The scones were ok, but the cream was sitting under a hot lamp and wasn’t toppped up.
The tea service was great, you can try different teas and beverage top up’s and frequent.
Overall, I would not recommend. There are other places that do high tea better, even if you’re looking for the buffet style.

Good no frills korean bbq place. Seemed popular on a Sunday night bit still managed to get a table straight away as a walk in.

Staff were very accomodating to us and the food came out quickly. Works out to be $40pp. Atmosphere is very typical for a korean bbq place (dark-ish, noisy), perfect environment to drink as well.

Went to have their Spring High Tea. It was a 2hr sitting time with a classic three tier stand of sweet and savoury delights and scones with unlimited orders of tea and coffee. 🙂

I liked the idea of using honey to create this menu for which the honey was harvested from their rooftop bees. However the end products were not as refined as I expected, especially from a 5-star hotel restaurant. 😐

The Scones were probably the most delicious items from the lot. They were freshly baked with a soft, light and tender texture. They were crispy on the edge and with a moist center. 🙂
There was a classic version and a sweet version. The sweet version was made with bee pollen, orange & chocolate which was nice and something different. 😀

Excellent customer service, staff was friendly and helpful from start to finish. 🙂

Unfortunately we can’t not rate this restaurant more than 2 stars. This restaurant used to be on the first floor and was up to a few years ago one of Sydney go to buffet’s with top quality food and a vibrant buzzing atmosphere.

We were here for the Friday dinner buffet which was far from a wow experience it once was and was fabulous for.
The selection of food was small ( hardly any seafood) and more focused on cold ( salades, breads, cheeses) than hot food.
The restaurant was also empty only 30% of the tables were in use by other guests.

The staff was friendly and the manager did ask
us how our dining experience was that evening.
We have explained our experience and our disappointment and were explained by the manager that the restaurant is about to close down in December, The restaurant will get renovated and then will reopen in 2024.
The hot and cold food was very average, on a positive note, the sweets and deserts were better quality.
But overall the quality does not justify the price being charged.

The best burger I have ever had in my 30 years alive. Little too dark inside for me but the food was exceptional. The potatoes gratin were also possibly top 3 I’ve ever had.

Only big negative is we had a lot of leftovers and it seems they don’t let you take any food home? Not sure but we didn’t ask !

Fantastic restaurant! Best steak I’ve had in a long time. I had the boneless rib eye chop which had been smoked on cherry wood and bourbon and cooked perfectly. Great service and atmosphere, particularly the booths which were a cosy touch for a long lunch. Highly recommend it for any occasion - business, friends or romantic.

What a gorgeous place! It’s like an old fashioned bar / restaurant in the middle of Sydney which is really cool. They take your phones off you when you’re seated which we actually really liked - even though we wanted pictures! The steak is incredible - some of the best we’ve ever had. The chips and asparagus were great sides; I tried the hash browns but I wasn’t a fan - they tasted like crisps (or chips if you’re American) to me as they were very finely cut and very crispy. The drinks were delicious too - you can ask for cocktails that aren’t on the menu which was great. Service was excellent!!! The attention to detail was great and they were incredibly attentive. Would definitely visit again!

Visited on Monday night for their Korean BBQ. There is a very good range of meats as well as cooked dishes. The hot plate on each table is huge which allows you to cook faster than you can eat!

A nice selection of Cooked dishes including Soup and an area to make your own Bibimbap. I only wish they had a larger variety of Desserts. Overall, pretty good value at $40pp (if you pay cash).

Booked for a birthday and didn't disappoint. Service was top-notch from Harry. Great atmosphere. My personal fave was the prawn cocktail. The seasoned deep-fried prawn head was a tasty touch. Their serving size was pretty good compared to other restaurants with the same price range.

There are not a lot of food options compared to other buffets we’ve been to. The food itself was alright. Considering what we paid (it was around $30pp for lunch all-you-can-eat if you didn’t select the bbq option) the experience overall wasn’t that bad, but I would recommend checking out other buffet options in the city instead.
Meat are always good here. They are strict about the 90min time allocated. Have not had issued about wastage, they always stress the issue when seating customers. We usually take small portions at a time so never had an issue with it
We just tried this for once and will never return again. Not satisfied with the food. Expected much because of its price but only few choices unlike the other buffet that we use to eat at. No fishcake, japchae is bland, only few desserts and place looks dirty.

One of my all time favourite restaurants in Sydney and the very best opulent steak house you will find anywhere in the country. No others come close.

The Gidley understands hospitality and the team running this restaurant are absolute pros at what they do.

Last night my group of 4 were so well looked after. We were seated for cocktails first at 6pm in the bar then moved to our beautiful booth seating. My husband and our friends hadn’t been before and I was so looking forward to introducing them to The Gidley- it did not disappoint!

The lovely polish gentleman Matt (I believe this was him name) who looked after us gave us excellent recommendations and was so on top of everything along with the others on the floor.

The ambience, the food, the drinks- everything was superb. You can’t find a single flaw.

I only give Google recommendations to businesses that I believe are extremely worthy and The Gidley is that and more. I can’t wait for the next time. Thank you so much for a perfect night!

Excellent dinner night. Service was wonderful, very professional and friendly. We had some changes to our dinner plan which was taken care of without any issues. Very helpful suggestions by our wonderful waiter, who looked after us so well. Views are amazing & quality of food is right up there with the views. Really good value for money too. We’ll be back!

It's a very nice restaurant. The view was amazing, the place was crisp and clean, and very well presented. The food and wine selection was really good. The service was good but I expected better for the location and price. We would ask for something and it would take so long to happen, almost like the server forgot. It took almost 10 minutes to get some salt because the slat grinder was empty we were given.

Lunch buffet is good enough and food is very yummy with Korean food style. I like the noodles with beef very much and chicken wings are good as well! Price is very nice for 20 dollar per person!

Absolutely loved our experience at The Gidley! Great service, food and atmosphere. No pictures of food or drinks to show because they do take your phone away to ensure to socially connect and enjoy each part of the experience (which actually I loved more than I thought I would!). Definitely get the burger, and the rib-eye! 100% would recommend to anyone!

I revisited the place with my friend for the lunch buffet recently. We arrived at 2 pm. We were shocked when we saw 5-6 options of dishes to choose only, and some of them were a few pieces left (not includes salad bar). The fried chicken wing was the only thing we enjoyed. extremely disappointed!!!
The perfect place for the celebration of a special event. The views of the night lights is magical. The service was friendly and attentive. A good selection of wine. The icing on the top was the food. If you are a foodie or in to fine dining or want to discover what fine dining is then you won't be disappointed. The combination of flavours was heavenly and very rich. It was a pleasure to eat slowly to savour the flavours.

This restaurant located on the Lobby of Sheraton Grand Sydney Hyde Park is opened all day, from breakfast to dinner, serving a limited menu ala-carte.

However, you will find your typical meats, burgers and sandwiches. Both the steak and salmon are highly recommended.👍🏼

We would have preferred to dine and meet at Sydney Commons but on L1 but is was not open.

Probably one of the best steaks I've had in Sydney. The spinalis was such a great cut and cooked to perfection. Everything about that cut was so good. Then the English roast was a great alternative to the steak. So much flavour, though its definitely a sharing piece. The burger is quite delicious, but I found the bacon better on its own thing, but the egg was great.

They brought out a surprise bagel with some dips, and they were warm. The taramosalata was easy best sauce with it. We wanted something different for the entre, and the deep fried prawn heads were awesome though I can see that some people wouldn't like to eat a prawn head. Wrapped with lettuce dipped into the sauce, so good.

There wasn't too much to write home about with the sides and desserts, but it was good enough for me. Enjoyable way to end the meal. The entrance can be hard to find, but its located down some steps. Highly recommend getting a booking first.

It's great to find another good vegetarian degustation!
Beautiful flavours paired well with non-alcoholic wines. Loved all on the menu, although the cauliflower dish could do better in flavours and texture. Service was beautiful, although one brought out a different drink by mistake and difficult to hear menu explanations at times.
Lovely touch to the experience when they surprised us with a card and cute dessert that looks like Minnie mouse as it was for a birthday~
Great views, although can get a little disoriented trying to return to the table or dizzy and the dining area revolves around the core!
Highly recommend, especially if you're looking for good vegetarian degustation~

I was so happy with my experience here for my birthday last year, that I surprised my partner for his birthday with O Bar. (We liked it that much!) Once again, treated ourselves to their “silver” 3 course meal, drinks. Had to order the Vivid special cocktail in glowingly red glasses! Everything I ordered was perfection. And my 2 other guests, equally happy with the “explosion of flavours.” We were lucky enough to be positioned in the right spot at the right time to see the Drone show in action down below at Circular Quay (Vivid Sydney). The staff were excellent. Everything was pure perfection. Another fabulous experience with O Bar. Many thanks to the staff!
The service was impeccable. They have really good serving portions and the food are flavourful. The team made our wedding anniversary dinner extra special with an on the house dessert and a thoughtful card. Will definitely go back! A really good experience/treat for yourself or for friends/family for special occasions.

Special mention to Antoine, who was superb! Very accommodating and sensitive to our needs.

VIVID UPDATE
Combine excellent food service and surrounding with the magic of vivid festival. A lovely way to view the lights of vivid.
Perfect food, views and service
Highly recommend this restaurant the overall experience was exceptional. We booked the silver experience for four of us which included guaranteed window seat (a must have), a glass of champagne and 3 course meal - a choice of entree, main and desert all were fantastic. Food beautifully presented on lovely and unusual plates. We also got some oysters as an extra. The wine list extensive, wine poured from a decanter into nice glassware.
It’s the little extra touched that make this a must place to go with your family, on a date (they have proposal packages) or with a few friends. Also have some single seats at a bar that looks over the city. It was a birthday and they brought out a small cake with a candle, a small birthday card and handmade chocolates. All unprompted just had birthday in the booking!
The restaurant slowly spins so the view is ever changing.
Walkable from train station and restrooms excellent.

Cheap buffet with no frills. There were plenty of meats to choose from and sides. The waitress changed our grill plate 3 times. I liked it that you go and choose your meats than have big plates of the same meat served to the table. I would have liked more options of sauces.

Booked the high tea buffet a bit over a month ago, only to show up to discover that there was no buffet and apparently hadn't been for about four weeks. When pressed about why I wasn't informed that there would be no buffet I just got the same line about it being removed four weeks ago over and over again. The majority of the staff were unfriendly (with the exception of one server who was actually nice and made jokes) and really did not seem to want to be there. The coordination was astonishingly bad. We ordered some tea, only for them to come back and tell us it was out of stock. How they didn't know it was out of stock to begin with is beyond me, but also, like, it's a high tea, the tea is half of the point, tea doesn't go bad, how hard is it to keep it in stock. The server who seated us asked if we'd like some water to start, we said yes, and she just... never brought the water. The place was mostly empty, it wasn't like they were flat out keeping up with other customers. Despite the place being mostly empty it still managed to be loud, wouldn't want to be there if it was full.

The food was all right, but we showed up with the expectation of a buffet, it's just not the same thing. Even then, the quality of the food was inconsistent, one of the raspberry and white chocolate scones was significantly nicer than the other two, it was even a slightly different colour. Only one of the tarts had fairy floss/pashmak on it, despite the menu indicating that it should've been a standard feature.

The only feature that made this place unique is gone, if you want high tea, just go somewhere else.

Great place in the city for some Wagyu BBQ Buffet in the city.

Heaps of meat and sides to choose from.

Had a great experience with the allocated time of dining experience. Worth the price.

Definitely going back with some company for some bbq sharing!

Went for the weekend high tea, served buffet style. Very small selection of sweet and savoury items.

Savoury: falafel, arancini, mini chicken pies, finger sandwiches (smoked salmon, chicken & mayo, egg salad), three cheeses, salami, ham, watermelon & feta salad. Very average, I think the watermelon salad and the chicken sandwich were the best items.

Sweet: assorted cake slices, cheesecake, plain scones, date & orange scones, brownies, lemon meringue tart, cannoli, fruits & chocolate fountain
Most items were way too sweet. I usually love desserts but the only thing I bothered getting seconds for was the fruits and plain scones. There were quite a few fruit flies buzzing around however, which made it a bit unappealing.

The almond cap was pretty good.

Personally I don't think it was worth $80 for the limited range and quality. Much better high tea options elsewhere.

Service was alright when we were there but it was nearly impossible to contact them prior to our visit. Emails and phone calls both went unanswered, and the reception was unable to assist over the phone either.
