I had the most amazing time here! Wonderful staff, vibes, drinks, and music. I enjoyed the J. Love Band - they were a whole experience! 😎
I have wanted this experience for years and The Blue Room delivered!! The music got into my soul and I don't think I'll ever be the same after. The vibe is on point, the service immaculate and prompt, the Mayor recognized me from earlier in the day at the museum and walked my wife and I in and sat us.

The musicians are truly special. I felt so fortunate to sit right in front of the action. So close, that I could hear them chatting between songs. I'd have never known how much improv was happening otherwise i was left even more impressed. There were a few guest artist that stepped up and joined in. The night ended with a rocking jam session. I got jazz, I got the blues I'd been craving, I left satisfied.

I would do this again!! I can't wait.
This is the best spot in Power & Light! Live music, great service from the bartenders and servers (especially Bekah), and fair drink prices. Love it here.

This is a Jazz bar... that night we were there to see a new singer named Nya, look out for her, she was very good! I live in KC, all my life so my family visits the Blue Room at least once, twice a year! But since Covid not as much as before. They do not serve food, parking is on the street or nearby parking lots and they sell bar liquor/sodas only.
The atmosphere is fun, and "jazz-y" so anyone would enjoy going there. Don't go hungry! Lol
Good local musicians and sometimes world renowned musicians play there... the cover charge depends on who is playing that night, from free to $30 .
I recommend the Blue Room ! Should have taken pictures that night but didn't unfortunately...you won't be disappointed if you go!
Howl At the Moon is always an amazing experience. Bartenders and waitresses are always helpful and in a great mood. The atmosphere is out of this world and is a great place for fun always!! I would 10/10 recommend to anyone looking for some fun at a great place with great music.
Ali is by far the best person I've ever had the pleasure of interacting with. She was very attentive and made sure that our evening was the best that it could be. I will be back and I hope that I'll have the pleasure of having her wait on us again! Well done Howl at the Moon!

Great place. The service was awesome. The band was talented and interactive. Loved it.
I’ve been here a total of two times now and I really love it! My first visit was one of their themed nights (emo night). I didn’t have a table and it was pretty busy that night so I stood by the railings near the back of the bar. The band was fantastic! The bartenders were fast and super nice. The second time I visited I paid $120 for a table and honestly will do so every time I go. It was super nice to be closer to the stage and have somewhere to set our drinks. You can have friends with you by your table even if they didn’t want to buy one which (I guess contrary to others opinion) I really enjoyed! I saw in other reviews that people didn’t like how crowded it was by the stage. I actually didn’t mind it. The open space by the staged is used more as a dance floor and I thought it was fun to get up from our table and go dance and socialize. The band engages with the crowd, played our requests, and was very talented. I really don’t have anything to complain about with this place. Everyone I brought with me (all different ages) really enjoyed it too! Definitely my favorite!!!
Really disappointed with the experience here. A couple of the musicians were really talented but the rest were embarrassing to listen to. Playing several instruments poorly is not what we were expecting in a piano bar at all. The music selections were like from a cheap wedding.

We paid $140 (you get a $40 drink credit) for a table and were excited to be seated right up front but after like 2 songs the whole front area was filled with people dancing (terribly) and so we couldn't see the musicians at all. Plus everyone was really drunk so they were spilling drinks everywhere and bumping into our table trying to shove the chairs out of the way. Complete rip off. The server was either really slow or just totally overwhelmed so the drinks took forever.

We've been to piano bars before and so I was really excited for high quality musicians and a good show but all we really got were a couple dudes screaming into a mic, one really good female singer and a TON of very drunk college kids and their parents. So weird.

Definitely don't waste your money here.

The performance was excellent. The service was disappointing. The server ignored our group the entire time we were there. We even tried getting her attention, which she also ignored and continued to serve patrons who entered after our party. We ended up getting our own drinks from the bar. We were there to see friends perform, but will not return after this experience. I expected more from this establishment 😔

We really enjoyed our time there at The American Jazz Museum particularly the Blue Room where they had some Live Jazz. It was great!! We were visiting from El Paso Texas. We were there for the Thursday Night Football game at Arrowhead but got to experience a lot of the nice places Kansas City has to offer.
This was the worst piano bar we've ever been to. I paid $240 in table fees for a prime spot for my husband's birthday just to have people stand all in front of us and not be able to see or get to the stage for request. I don't think they even played our request. I left to go to the bathroom and when I came back someone had pushed our seats out of the way to make room for their group. We always go the Howl at the Moon or Pete's Piano Bar when we travel and this was hands down the worst one. We just moved here and will not be back unless they adhere to the typical piano bar seating policies. I want a refund.. total waste of money.

First time going to a Jass club, so I figured I would go to one of the best! We were able to get a table and share a couple of drinks watching Lady D and the band. It was a wonderful experience and a great performance. We truly enjoyed it. I would go back anytime. I met a couple of locals and had a blast! Highly recommend coming her for a show!
Overpriced mediocrity. Almost $30 for two beers on draft. Also, charging a "facility fee" at a bar is entirely unnecessary & pathetic. Reeks of a scam. If you want to be grifted through this proxy of a development company, then the Indie On Main is for you! The bartender was at least a kind & friendly person which helps bump the rating from one to two stars.

First time visiting The Blue Room for a show. This happened to be the 5 o'clock Friday night free jazz show. It was a real treat seeing (hearing) Lady D and her band! Great ambience, a wonderful mix of people in a really welcoming space. Had previously visited the museum, a "don't miss!" and was just as thrilled with this experience. Highly recommend!
Went here for my birthday on Feb 5th! We had a blast, they have a special birthday gift basket that they give out. $40 gift card and a jello shooter thing and a shot glass and other things. They took me on stage and I did this cowbell thing too. 5 stars! Staff was also amazing.
What an experience! The small bachelorette group we had came to this bar and we’re almost going to leave when we heard there was a cover, but worth every single penny. The dueling pianos and musicians was the highlight of the night. I cannot wait to see them live again! What a fun night and exceptional music.

This is a great bar to start your night if you're heading into The Midland to see a show, or exploring downtown. They have a huge and unique cocktail menu and the staff is always friendly!
Came here during the Super Bowl. The staff couldn't have been nicer. The restrooms are downstairs and really nice. We made the best decision coming in here to watch the big game. Great bar!

If you are going to any concert that allows anyone under 21 you can go through this bar and skip the long line outside. It's just your typical bar. Beer is cold and bartenders are friendly.

Seriously fun if you're into karaoke. The atmosphere is good. Sometimes a bit loud, so maybe not a first date kind of establishment but definitely worth a visit!

Loved this little spot. Cool vibe and wood finishes. Got a large beer at a slightly cheaper price than a comparable in the area.
The bar wasn't packed so I got served and got my beer within two minutes of being in the place.

Not a bad spot, but they have no food, and generally do not support the local music scene, though they seem to have the perfect space and location for it... in the end, it is just a Bar and offers nothing more...except popcorn and generally good service.
