Went as a group of 4 adults and had an amazing time!! We paid for the masters gem bucket and it was plenty for us to split! The staff were super friendly and happy to educate us on our findings. Thank you for all you do! Inside the shop is beautiful and fun to explore as well. I only wish I had more money to buy more specimens! We will be back next time we’re in Cherokee!

This place was great! Had an amazing time with my family, the staff was very kind and knowledgeable. Even taking pictures of my family while we were mining. Will definitely be doing this again the next time we're up this way.

My roommate and I are teachers and come to NC every year for Spring Break. This is our 4th year coming and we cannot miss stopping at Rockhound Ridge. It’s an awesome experience, definitely your moneys worth and the staff are beyond friendly and knowledgable. Each year I leave with a new gem necklace that we dug from our buckets and I get so many compliments on them! Highly recommend this wonderful place!

Adored learning from Wayne and Kara (hope I'm spelling that correctly). Very enthusiastic and knowledgeable without being patronizing. Wayne really knows his way around the stones and gems and gives cool little tricks.

The parking lot is small and rather steep, so do be careful of slippage, but man, they had a lot of stuff. We did the $75 bucket for two people, the mystery bucket, and got two cutting board sizes of gems. This is not a dig it yourself. This is buckets that you sluice. The setup is really comfortable, no bending over. You get to sit on a bench, and Wayne even gives ya some tips on how to stay extra dry! So pleased with our experience and very happy we came for boyfriend's birthday

This place was such a hidden gem! (Get it?). Family owned and ran, they were so friendly and knowledgeable about each stone we found. Sam even took the time to separate all the valuable stones from the rest and had them bagged and ready for us. Lots of options to fit into any price range. Definitely recommended!!!

My family decided to try this Gem Mine due to the reviews. I am so happy and pleased to say the reviews are spot on! The staff is absolutely amazing! They took great care of my family! There were 7 of us and 2 are “littles”. I decided I would do 3 buckets at 25$ each however, when going inside to pay, the fabulous young lady at the counter helped me to pick a better bucket with more of a variety of gems! I was NOT disappointed! I have several bags of gems and the size of them! Wow!! I will definitely be coming back and most definitely be recommending this place! The gentleman outside took great care to explain all our questions regarding the stones and even cut some open for us! This was an amazing experience for me and my family! So from my family to your family…. THANK YOU!!!

I love this place! Ive gone multiple times now with the family and the experience is always uplifting, fun, and educational! The staff there are very passionate, kind and knowledgeable, as you collect more gems and minerals they will tell you the history of them, show you cool things about them like how to identify them with different techniques, characteristics or interactions with light, and where they were likely sourced! There's also a shop inside with everything you could think of, priced very fairly and of high quality. It's one of those experiences that will stick with you for a long time, I genuinely couldn't recommend them more! On a side note, I noticed they print out reviews for the team to see, so incase this makes it to paper, i wanted to thank you all for the great time with our family, and hope you all have a great rest of the week!
