Unfortunately google requires 1 star. Covenant deserves negative stars for my wife’s experience. They put an IV in that failed and they dismissed the pain she experienced. Finally hours later a nurse (someone other than her nurse) finally removed her 2 day old IV and it ooozed as if infected. They had someone else put a new IV in her other arm and again dismissed the pain created the arm with original IV. After a night of horrible pain with no treatment Dr Jonathan Schwartz opens our hospital room door and asks “do you want to go home”? With her arm swollen and in pain they discharge her. 8 hours later the pain was SO bad we took her to St Mary’s ER. They diagnosed her with cellulitis. My wife was hospitalized for 2 months with sepsis in July and covenant did not care if this happened again. Extremely disappointed in the care received from this hospital. I will be contacting the medical board Follow this review for updates.
Seriously the WORST hospital I have ever been to. We came in to have our newborn treated for her jaundice and were here for 4 hours before they told us they are admitting her. We should not be here this long with a newborn and have her exposed to everything in this ER floor. About 6 different staff members came in and asked us the same questions and we had to explain 6 times why we
were here (even though it was already written in her chart) Every time my husband or I had a question, they dismissed it and every time we asked for their help with supplies, they would run off and say they would be back in 2 minutes. Almost every time we never saw that person again. We wanted to go to Mid Michigan, but they did not have the proper treatment for her. Would NEVER recommend Covenant to anyone.
This pathetic excuse for a hospital had my son for at least 8 hours in emergency care, and even though they had his passport, his driver's license, and his bank card, the incompetent staff could not be bothered to actually record what his name is correctly. Then to make matters worse after hours of calls, his mother, who is trying to locate our son, shr just drives to the hospital where the staff denies his presence at this so called hospital and the staff still refused to help her while my son was unconscious in a room just 20 or 30 feet from the desk where they refused to help her. Eventually my son finally my son regained consciousness and immediately called his mother and he resolved the situation this incompetent staff created.

For the love God don't let your loved ones end up in this place you have no idea what may come from such absolute incompetence.
I use to think covenant was a very good hospital but after my last visit 4/23 I would not recommend going there unless you have no other choice. I went to ER they admitted me to the cardiac floor for 3 days the dr they were waiting to come see me still had not seen me. I checked myself out. Now 2/24 I got a ER bill for $200 because they said I was not admitted I was just under observation. The staff I interacted with were ok but I had an IV in and they never used it for flushed it for 3 days. I am a nurse I know what they are suppose to do. My experience was horrible and they never addressed my issue AND I seen 9 different providers in 3 days but they were waiting for this GI dr that never came. The providers I did see kept apologizing for him not coming. They said that he knew and maybe he forgot. I will discourage anyone who asks from going to covenant.
In every patient room covenant states that our the patients comfort is their goal. Well I can tell you today that they failed miserably. I arrive in the emergency room in the morning at around 9:30. I was having chest pains due to the heart condition the pain was stabbing and radiating. I requested pain medication numerous times. Each time the nurse is told me that they've been paging the doctor but had not heard back from him. It took me 6 hours to get pain medication. What started off as a six or seven was then a 10. By the time they found me a room, which was about an hour after that they moved me to a basement in a observe a story room. I was told I could have pain medication every 2 hours as long as I was having pain. The last thing I wanted was to relive the events from earlier that day. I am prescribed a trazodone to help me sleep for a medical condition. I requested my trazodone and pain medication in addition to my other nighttime meds. They denied me the trazodone and the pain medicine because my blood pressure was sporadic throughout the day. So as a patient I'm supposed to be an extreme pain and not be able to sleep rather than for the hospital to give me something to keep my blood pressure elevated. And mind you the reason that I am in the hospital to start with is because covenant cardiology could not seem to manage to call in prescriptions four of them by the way that I had been requesting for the last month. So having surgery to prevent afib, I was in afib this morning. I would recommend any other hospital and any other cardiologist away from covenant
Big mad. Was there a Friday night for false labor with my son and I ended up getting head lice from the bed I was in. These people seriously need to keep up on cleaning and not let patients in used beds. This is so nasty and just uncaring. I'm definitely going to let them know.
My 3 day hospital stay was the saddest, loneliness awful time I've experienced in years. I got a cat bite which turned seriously infected quick and I knew I needed IV antibiotics. Emergency room great but my room at the end of 6th floor was not. Toilet had filth all inside rim..no towels, one nurse whole floor.....IV broke every single time and many nights stayed that way..no towels, and didn't see bucket on windowsill for 2 days with tooth brush etc...no one cared. ..meds forgotten, lights on all night .poor lady in other bed screamed WHOLE night..alone...3rd day I lost all joy and demanded to go home. The IV not working, at that point doctor finally came and requested scalpel (nurse got offended!) and sliced my hand open on my bedstand. Pus and blood gushed on towels which were thrown on window sil with bloody tools and left there while doc said see me in Jan!!!!!. I am not high maintenance and kept my joy 2 days before pain, wet bed, dirty gown, broken IV and pillows without pillowcases I'm down to one hand)Didn't even get ice water two days and my lips peeled!! . I've been in Guatemala hospital that was cleaner and friendlier. God bless the nurses they are understaffed, overworked and exhausted. I never type criticism I like to speak life but this was a nightmare. If it had been more serious I think they might of killed me. COVID changed us and not for better. We have an extremely broken system that isn't gonna magically fix it self. I am gonna gather volunteers and get people visiting cuz it broke my spirit which takes ALOT. God bless Michelle my first nurse I loved her and she said they work way too many hours. PLEASE visit anyone you care about hospitalized because without a voice you won't get care. Worst stay ever and I've been around. Heartbreaking the apathy and complacency in our city...country
I THANK & HIGHLY COMMEND THE ENTIRE STAFF of COVENANT HOSPITAL!
Because of prior mistreatment from other clinic/hospitals... I literally have to be dying to go to an Emergency room.
The Nurses, Doctors, Aides & Kitchen staff ACTUALLY listened to me and my list of allergies to make sure I didn't have ANY allergenic reactions to meds OR food!
I was released after 8 days. 24 hours later... one of the Doctors that took care of me - CALLED ME to see how I was doing!
It's been a week now & I'm feeling much better. I Thank ALL of you! You're Absolutely Amazing! <3
Disrespectful of people. Don’t go there if you any ounce of self-respect.
