Booked a bulky wasted removal with Hackney incompetent council for the 9th of October they failed to pick it up and I paid £20 for the service . They stole my money and 10days later the items are still outside and haven’t been collected I’ve called for 2weeks with someone to help but no one has helped me !!! incompetent pathetic people now my neighbours are annoyed with me USLESS PEOPLE !!!

Hands down the WORST council group I have ever had the displeasure to be bound by.
I move into a new build with NO option to purchase resident’s parking for the first month and I have been slapped with £600 in fines. Absolute joke, they should be ashamed of themselves.

The staff are useless, they send emails saying what they want and you have a dead line to stick to or you won't be able to work commercially then don't bother to respond to the emails until the days before the deadline saying they want other information!! Ridiculous, the staff are lazy even worse since covid no one cares at all .

They sent letter to me to go to the court as I didn't pay my business rate even I told them 2 years ago my rent is small and my business is small business by the law I shouldn't pay business rate and they agreed and now they asked me again and taking me to the court without agreement. That council no good service.

Big compliment to Kemi in complaints team at Hackney Council who dealt with my complaint on some outstanding repairs from Purdys great communication and kept me up to date on everything she pushed through till the job got completed thanks again for all your help you a great asset to the council very professional and approachable great at what you do!

been constantly chased for years about council tax for a period after I moved out of the property. i have uploaded evidence multiple times over the years and been told this is resolved. but they keep sending me reminder letters. after calling again to check whats going on they tell me i did not upload evidence. only when i give them the reference number they find it in the system but nobody ever looked at it. literally no way to trust them unless you get something in writing. still on this case hope this won't affect my credit score.
UPDATE: it "seems" to be resolved now. sometimes you just need to get the right person on the line. hope this is not coming back anymore.

Anyone using the house exchange service to move in this borough (haringey council) think twice. Ive been in this country for 35 years and never experience anything like this. They refuse to do any kind of repair if your an exchange tenant. They will respond to a house flood in one month. You have to repair everthing yourself as nothing gets done even after several visits they just keep putting the job on each other.

I would give 0 stars if I could. If a private body acted like Haringey council it would be illegal. They also know judicial review is not a real option, end result being constituents are treated like vermin.

If you are bidding for housing, You’ll notice a very doggy bidding situation happening. There’s definitely corruption because even if you are No1 in the list where the house is near to transportation or is a new building, you will see it being directly offered to someone who is not even in the list or is no where near the top bidders. This happens 100% of the time to houses new or by train stations.
An interested media or authority should dig into this because a shocking story of corruption in Hackney housing will come to light.

The staff here are the rudest people you will ever meet. They are not only rude but can sometimes be verbally abusive. They just want to do the bare minimum and do everything in their power to show you their detest for their job. Appalling !

My recent experiences with Haringey council have been positive and responsive.
My cat went missing, and I feared the worst so I contacted them using their 'Other' form to see if any sadly dead cats resembling him had been collected. I expected the response to be slow or non-existent based on other reviews here, but was pleasantly surprised and was emailed the next day by Veolia and a Haringey council team member (Claire). Luckily he was found trapped in a neighbours house whilst they were away on holiday, but the fact they took my issue seriously was so reassuring.
I also contacted their general phone line a few months ago to request paper parking vouchers (as opposed to the new online ones) and they mailed me an application form the next day. I sent this off, and received my paper vouchers within two days.

Hackney Council has been nothing but difficult and not understanding and their PCN system seems driven to pressure people into paying without considering appeal.
My wife got a PCN for driving through a certain area. She made an appeal online and a week later we got a letter from them saying they don't accept representations from a 'third party' (car is registered in my name) and one needs to send a letter of authority (no way to do online!). We sent it but they said they haven't received it after a week when I queried over the phone (which I honestly don't believe or they take ages to open it) and wouldn't even accept granting authority over the phone and pressurise into paying because otherwise the fine would increase since it's been 14 days. To me that is unfair tactics and meant our appeal wasn't even considered. The only response I got was that I should've sent the letter as a tracking letter but that's just the symptoms of a system that is clearly not fit for purpose. No understanding, willingness to cooperate or humanity, I was told every action has a consequence and to better look at signs next time!

1. Recycling centre; staff are rude and it`s hard to book.
2. We have been charged for a recycling bin even though it is hardly anyone`s responsibility to provide enough bins but the council`s in the first place.
3. Council tax department; is unorganised. Recently the council have massively over charged us and we are still waiting for a refund after 3 calls and 4 emails.If we hadn't caught and contacted, the council was just keeping our money. (and it is really difficult to contact)
4. Parking department; doesn't remind when the residents permit is running out and then leaves a penalty charge. Also the cheeky parking warden waiting in every corner for the most minor mistake or 3 minute wait to leave a PCN.
Note: Some people on the phone has been very sweet and trying to be helpful but the management,rules and the organisation is quite unsatisfactory.

The Road traffic system is absolutely disaster. There is way more traffic lights in every 15/20 yards and unplanned. Central London roads are more free then Hackney roads.

Especially for disabled people!
Did you know that your TAXICARD has an expiry date connected to your ESA/PIP claim? Well l certainly did not. As a TAXICARD HOLDER my card was suspended without any warning or advance notification! Apparently due to my ESA/ PIP claim terminating but it has not terminated and if LONDON COUNCILS used it's access to the DWP database effectively this suspension would have been avoded. I was due to travel using my wheelchair to go in a taxi to my hospital appointment which l missed because of this companies action.
Shoddy treatment of disabled people, the telephone representative, just to be even more obstructive, said it takes 10 WEEKS to process and she was almost smug about it. Nothing being done by this organisation to promote disability so disabled travellers please beware of this loophole it does not appear to be widely published. The action to suspend a disabled persons taxicard takes away their ability to travel, engage with the community potentially impacting their mental health and failing in its duty to promote disability equality; which is the whole point of the card!! Absolutely disgusting policy directly affecting ONLY DISABLED PEOPLE should be ashamed of yourselves London councils because my ESA/PIP was appealed and now has indefinite status !!

It was easier getting a passport and Visa application. Online application? A bad joke. They take details including age (?) intrusive details vis-a-vis my flat and then say that they will call in 5 days for payment.
Perhaps they are unaware it is the 21st Century and online MEANS ONLINE.
8 days later, still waiting and a 7 minute call to their number went unanswered.
