Reformation is an interesting and welcoming community. Walks it’s talk of service and engagement in the local and global community. It’s food pantry has been offering bags of food, assembled by member volunteers for 30+years. The Reformation partners of Good Neighbors Capitol Hill have furnished 120 apartments for refugees from Afghanistan, Honduras, Eritrea, Uganda, Cameroon, El Salvador, Syria, Ethiopia, Ukraine, and more.
The music program is amazing with choir, concerts, and a gifted composer-organist-conductor.

This is such a warm and inclusive ELCA Lutheran church with a beautiful Sunday liturgy, I love being a part of this community.
Diverse and friendly congregation. Members, visitors, newcomers are always welcomed with a hearty hello. Young and vibrant clergy who are mature and professional theologians. Outstanding choir that shares peace and joy during the services. Augustana Lutheran Church provides outstanding service with the communities. Church is very close to Metro public transportation. Accessible elevator.

This church is my home away from home. Pastor Michael Wilker welcomed my wife and me to this church in 2014 and now Pastor Kevin Vandiver is continuing the important social justice ministry we all need to hear. I cannot say enough good things about this place, and I hope you join us one Sunday to experience it yourself.

I can't say enough about Luther Place. I have had the privilege of attending various services here over nearly 20 years with family friends who are longstanding members of the congregation.
When you are in the church, you are back in time to a simpler Washington DC, and at the same time the progressive agenda of this please is cutting edge.

This is such a friendly and welcoming church. An active community of people of all ages and life stages. Reformation emphasizes serving its community, is inclusive of LGBTQIA+ members and guests, has active youth and young adult groups, and has a strong music program. All of this in a Capitol Hill location that can't be beat.
A wonderful church, many activities for all age groups. The MLK project, working in the parsonage was an awesome idea. The church has been a fine institution on Capitol Hill for many years. Keep up the phenomenal work!!!
This church is a gem. It is LGBTQIA+ affirming, has great music, plenty of different ministries to get involved with, family friendly, and more. The new pastor, Kevin Vandiver, is breathing new life into the congregation as well and leading them on the next leg of the journey God has planned for Reformation. Even though I moved away a few months ago, it's still the church service I opt to tune into weekly. (Thank you, tech team!)
An inclusive and progressive church with rich history and dedicated and welcoming congregation
This is a very friendly and welcoming congregation, with a lot of energy and activity coming out of Covid. The church features a great music program and an inclusive environment for LGBT members and visitors. The sanctuary and fellowship hall are easily accessible by elevator. Good fellowship hours every week!

Beautiful high church mass. From the liturgy to the incense to the overall atmosphere, I’m able to worship using all my senses at Augustana.

The church gives back the community, sick and shut in, visit the Sr living homes, Youth groups. I truly love my church. It's a great place. Amen 🙏
My parents was married in this church in the 1940’s all their children were christened there. Two of their grandkids were also christened there. At that time the church was across the street. My siblings and I attended Vacation Bible School in the summer as did my children. My kids are adults now but this is the church they grew up in. Actually my kids were among the children who later were in the transition across the street to 1306 Vermont Ave
Amazing place to worship and fellowship!!
We happened upon this church near Navy Yard and Waterfront neighborhoods, and have been very impressed in our half dozen or so attendances. The congregation is lively and diverse, and the pastoral staff are among the friendliest and most caring we've encountered in the dozen or so protestant churches we've attended during our military careers all over the country. Bible study offerings are thoughtful and well-taught by experienced theologians, and children's and youth group offerings seem to match other well-received programs we've observed at other churches. Perhaps most remarkably, a full-time pastor is dedicated to being available on Tuesdays 9A-3P in the co-located coffee shop for questions and conversation. This speaks volumes about the spirit, dedication, and well-organized leadership of this church.
Excellent service to the needed! Restrooms provide. Limited parking space, roads very narrow, easy access to many shopping center and residential neighborhoods.

This is a wonderfully welcoming, friendly, and vibrant church. Lots of young kids, a very strong LGBTQIA presence, and an emphasis on community outreach.

Awesome Church to Worship in Downtown DC. Pastor Johnson delivers lessons that are relatable to everyday life. He is a Pastor that connects with his flock instead of disappearing through a side door with aides that play the go between. Collection (Tithe) plate appears only once unless taking donations to help someone down on their luck which includes partnering with local Sister Lutheran Churches not just for his congregation. The 1st Lady, Christine Johnson and Congregation are so warm, inviting and they make you feel so welcomed. Stop on by🙏🏽🙏🏽
I was not at the church I was at the open house for the Valor is connected to the church but I didn't like what I heard like I think is so unfair and some people pay 1500 to 1900 for two bedroom with the voucher you will not qualify because they won't pay Market rent I just think that's so not fair to disabled and handicapped people
Lovely place of worship
This church is unlike any I've ever been to before. I felt welcomed despite my sexual orientation or lack thereof, rather. I felt moved by Pastor Karen's ability to correlate religion to current events; her ability to summon the church to humanity in such trying times.

What a kind and hospitable place! We stayed in the Steinbruck Center, and it was a wonderful experience. Seems like the church is heavily used throughout the week for various activities, meetings, and services, which is fantastic!
Fantastic architecture. Great location. No real parking here. A few cars can park on the side of the road.
We attended this church for Palm Sunday service. It is a friendly place with a mission for helping the homeless. this church is very liberal and if you are a conservative Lutheran it is probably not for you.The building is historic and has been in existence since the Civil War.
I’ve been a part of this lovely and loving church for about 5 years now. The community is welcoming, the people are faithful, and there is room for people of diverse identities. I feel very at home here.
