Hired Ioannis for a 6 hour trip to lake Kournas. He arrived on time, spoke excellent English and was very friendly. He took us on a tour of a traditional olive mill and shared stories of his heritage. At the lake, he offered us a picnic blanket to use and water throughout our tour. The vehicle was spotless and very comfortable. He was reasonably priced and I would highly recommend him if you are visiting Chania

Giannis was an amazing tour guide!
He provided us excellent historical details and background regarding the monastery as well as the history of Crete and Greece.
We had lots of fun at the two beaches, especially the snorkeling at the second beach. We enjoyed our lunch at the seafood restaurant as well.

We really appreciated his knowledge today as well as additional future recommendations he provided for activities in Chania.

Incredible experience being shown around Chania by Yiannis who was born and raised on the Island and who has a passion to show the wonders, history, and culture of the Island while sharing stories of his families life in Chania. During our entire 1 week stay, even when not on tour, Yiannis made sure to be available via WhatsApp to coach and advise and ensure we had a great experience. He even delivers a PDF of favorite restaurants and tips on maximizing experience. WOW!

What sold us from Canada PRE arrival to reserve our tours with Yiannis was his rapid availability by WhatsAPP for texts and calls on all things Greece and his generosity with planning and information ... something that he continued to deliver on throughout our stay in Greece.

Did 3 tours with Yiannis and would strongly recommend the first TWO.

(1) Chania City Tours ... loved the experience of being walked through the old and new cities, then driving to an Old Monastery, and landing on a local beach where we had wonderful lunch and swimming.

(2) Elafonissi Tour ... a nearly 2-hour drive to the coast during which Yiannis enriches the experience with stories about Olive trees, family weddings, and a number of key stops along the way. The PINK sand beach (where he drops you, waits in the parking lot, and you go on your own for a few hours of amazing beach time and text him when ready to leave) was INCREDIBLE BEST BEACH EVER!! On way back, he stops you off at a number of secluded beaches as we winded through his father's Olive trees on the mountain and lands at his cousins secluded, beach-side, fishery/restaurant where we got to choose from the catches of the day.

(3) Heraklion / Palace of Knossos tour. This was essentially a private TAXI service from Chania to Heraklion, and back. At the Palace, you need to buy your own tickets and hire local certified guides to see the tour. NOTE: they have an APP can download that is geolocated and can walk you through. Given this was 3rd tour and thus 3rd full day together, stories seem to have been flowed less and the 'experience' of a 'private tour' lessened. If visiting the Palace of Knossos is essential, try and plan your arrival to Crete in such a way that don't need to travel back 'n forth as this was our least favorite yet most expensive day of our two week trip in Greece.

Yiannis being a young and dynamic local with a recent MBA from London is very open to feedback and am certain his tours will keep getting better and better.

My husband and I had a wonderful experience with Yiannis. He customized our two private tours to our interests and abilities and shared his enthusiasm and knowledge of the island. He is a genuine and caring person and great company- we cannot recommend him highly enough!

Friendly staff, nice boats but very pricy when it comes to fuel and they don’t tell you upfront. Paid 2.3 euros per mile, for 40 miles they have charged me 90 euros. I’ve rented boats in the past and never had to pay more than 25-30 euros for the fuel.

Anyway,

Assuming the following:

• The boat cruises at a speed of 20 miles per hour (this is a common cruising speed for small boats).
• The average fuel consumption at cruising speed for a 30hp engine is around 2.5 gallons per hour (approximately 9.5 liters per hour).

Here are the steps to calculate the fuel consumption for a 40-mile trip:

1. Determine the duration of the trip:

Time = Distance : Speed = 40 : 20 = 2 hours

2. Calculate the total fuel consumption:

Fuel Consumption = Time * Fuel Consumption Rate = 2 * 9.5 (liters per hour average) = 19 liters

Therefore, a 40-mile trip with a 5.6-meter boat powered by a 30hp engine cruising at around 20 mph would consume approximately 19 liters of fuel. 19 * 2.3 = 43.7 euros. Not 91.7 euros that i was charged. Thank you for your reply but i think you overcharge for fuel.

We booked a day trip to tour beaches on the west side of the island. Getting there was a bit long (1.5 hrs) and bumpy, but well worth it- pristine beaches, magnificent mountains, goats climbing dizzying verticals, snorkeling, WWII bomber at 5 meter depths and a leprasorium island. Our skipper Kostas knew all right places and was a great guide and a companion.

Had a great time hiring a self-drive boat today for me and my two late teenage sons. Can't fault this operator at all. I had very limited experience of boating, but the tuition and whole experience was great! The boat was great fun and the coves/islands lovely. Plus the price was very reasonable for 4 hours, plus 30 mins tuition at 150Eur. Can't this recommend enough. Thanks for the experience!!

We used Creta Luxury Cruises on our trip to Greece in June 2024. Every step of the process was smooth and the service was TOP NOTCH! We had 9 people in our group and every single one of us had a great day! The boat, the crew, the food/drinks and the day were all just spectacular. I can't recommend this company enough! 10 out of 10!

We were a party of 10 and booked the Lady Roula boat to take us out on a day tour from 9am - 5pm. The booking process was simple and well communicated and we were asked to provide ID and choose our menu a day before departure. When we arrived we were welcomed by the captain and crew and given a short briefing on the boat. The boat has more than enough space for 10 people with a sun pad at the front, seating at the back, an upper deck and more than enough space inside. It’s a nice sized boat for 10 and we were all able to seat around the table for the food. Food and drink was plentiful and the food especially was delicious. Tuna cooked fresh by the captain or other a choice of meat dishes and plenty of very tasty side dishes. You will not go hungry. We visited a variety of stunning locations with plenty of time to swim, snorkel jump/dive from the boat or cliffs. Everyone really enjoyed the day and we would all highly recommend Creta Luxury Cruises.

Even though it was my first time, I had the best experience at this company— IT WAS SO FUNNNNN. I will definitely be returning.

Went on two tours with Yannis on our holiday and can’t recommend him enough. He was really professional and accommodating for us all, knowing when we wanted to chat lots and when we all wanted to sleep! He took us to some beautiful secret locations, with all the local know how (to avoid busy periods and find good restaurants). He also offered us drinks and towels, and even baked us cookies. Highly recommend!

Great experience highly recommended for a personal trip with no detail too difficult, not low budget but the boat and our captain were first rate. Take their advice on weather and location to get the best of the time.

Highly recommend Chania Boat Tours! From inquiry, to booking, to the actual trip and boat, everything was incredible and honestly perfect. Their communication was clear and helpful, and Manos and Adonis were excellent skippers and hosts. Our lunch was delicious (like actually amazing) and we really felt like we had the whole boat to ourselves. It was such an amazing experience and our favorite day in Chania. If I could give more than 5 stars I would!

Booked the Lady Roula yacht for the Balos​-Gramvousa all day cruise. I had questions and contacted via email. Quick, tailored and thorough responses from the company. The yacht was easy to find at the Old Town Marina in Chania. The crew were fantastic and friendly, with a perfect balance of engaging with us (attending to our needs) and allowing us to enjoy the yacht in privacy. Food provided was excellent with traditional Greek dishes and wine. The team went to the extra mile and provided a specific type of wine I requested. Would use again and recommend.

Had an absolutely amazing time on our day boat cruise to Balos! Also made a stop on another island off of Crete and explore some Venetian ruins on the top. Captain even added an additional stop to another part of Crete to see an additional monastery. The food was delicious and had an open bar. Our captain was very knowledgeable about Greek history and so kind! This cruise would be a perfect additional to your stay here!

Highly recommend Chania Boat Tours, Manus and Antonio (sorry if I've misspelled your names) were great. Showed us some beautiful spots for snorkeling, made a nice lunch and were very respectful of our space so it felt like we had the boat to ourselves. I also lost a snorkel in the sea which was retrieved by Manus, so thanks for that! Beautiful boat too!! 😎

Mano and Adonis, the two crew on the boat were wonderful! Great fruit and sandwiches were provided, safety was taken care of, and the locations we were taken to were incredible.

Fantastic trip, we originally booked a no license boat. I’d never driven a motor boat before, so I was shown how to use the boat by one of the members of staff. Due to the sea conditions combined with my lack of experienced, after the training I was advised by their staff that it would not be a good idea to take the boat out.

I appreciated the staff looking out for us and caring about our health and safety and I also agreed it would not be wise to take the boat out on my own in the choppy sea.

Instead of cancelling, Sea Adventure resolved the issue by providing a solution of going out with a skipper for a discounted price. The No license boat was in our budget whereas the original skipper price with a different boat was not, so I appreciated them offering this as this was a big part of our holiday.

We were then given Nikolas as our skipper. A reason I wanted to take the no license boat was due to the privacy, however Nikolas was great company and did not ruin the experience whatsoever, in fact improved it. He was of a similar age, spoke perfect English and was a joy to have around. He provided suggestions of where to go, was happy to take us wherever we wanted, allowed us to connect our music to the Bluetooth speaker and was a laugh. He even showed us some magic card tricks which was fantastic. Without Nikolas I think our experience would have been a lot worse. He took us to a great spot in the sea to watch the sun go down which was beautiful and a memory I’ll hold on to with my girlfriend forever.

Overall, a worthwhile experience that will be a highlight of your holiday and fantastic customer service from the Sea Adventure team.

Absolutely AMAZING and worth every penny. We did the Balos Beach and Gramvousa Island Cruise from Old Town Chania in the Axopar 37. It was 10/10. Truly a world class day. The Axopar was a rockstar, very comfortable at 27-30 knots even in a few choppy spots, fantastic seating and overall build quality. We found our Captain Nikos to be highly experienced, knowledgeable and friendly. The food and wine provided was spectacular as well.

Yiannis was an amazing host and concierge! He is personable, knowledgeable and runs a 5 Star luxury business! We loved our personalized experience from Chania to Gramvousa, Balos Beach and Falasarna Beach. Yiannis provided all necessary amenities and luxury items, as well! During the trip: very professional. We've been on boats in Spain, Portugal. Ibiza... we were impressed with their professionalism. Giving us room for privacy. Also, as everyone knows - locals know the best.. they recommended when and which stop to go- we were able to avoid bug boats coming in. We had our 3 year old son with us on the boat and they made sure he is taken care of... they also found a good place to have lunch - steady water.

End of trip- just pleasant and nice... we would be on this boat, Apollo, again when we are back in Crete. We loved both gentlemen that were handling the boat and welcoming us. Very professional...

Wow! Words cannot express what a magical experience we had on the Southwestern Crete tour aboard the Axopar. The scenery was absolutely gorgeous, and Nikos and Angelos handled the boat masterfully. They were always looking out for our comfort, as well. We stopped at so many picturesque places, including Elafonisi and Balos. The caves at Marmara were a true highlight.

We had originally booked a shorter cruise, but high winds forced a change of plans. Callie kindly offered us a change of date, a full refund, or the opportunity to upgrade to a longer cruise at only the additional cost of the car transfer. We chose the upgrade, and we are beyond grateful for the opportunity. We were so lucky to see so much of Crete. We’ll always remember this incredible day!

We had a fabulous time aboard the Axopar. Our captain was Stelios (forgive me if I typed his name wrong, he said to call him Steve). We booked a trip to Balos lagoon and Groumvasa and it was gorgeous.

Between the lagoon and hiking up to the old Venetian fort the views were everything we dreamed of. Lunch served aboard was delicious and the drinks provided even better.

We had a bit of rough seas and high winds. Our captain proposed going to Agios Theodoros to avoid the rough weather and even let us stay longer than scheduled to make up for the rough return from Balos.

If you’re looking for a luxury cruise departing from Chania we highly recommend!

We had a great experience with Sea Adventures the crew were great, super friendly and patient when explaining how to use the boat. We rented a boat for the full day and found an amazing beach on the map where we tethered the boat. There was a small beach bar and loungers there which we really enjoyed. This is definitely an adventure that we would recommend!

Two cruises on separate days with Captain Kyriakos. Both were incredible but the highlight was the full day trip to Balos. Just insanely beautiful. Boat was brand new and plush! So good:) Food was great and Kyriakos did everything to make our trip the best. And he succeeded! Definitely the best two days of our holiday and the Balos trip was one I won’t be forgetting for a long long time!!
