After going onto TP Review site two days earlier to give M&S online service a 5* review, I was horrified when we went into the Hempstead store to return an item.
After going into store looking for Blazers, I found that in some Designs I was a 46" chest, but in others I was a 48". I found a Jacket online, so as I didn't know what size I was, I ordered both sizes. The 46" fitted perfectly, so I returned the 48 to store.
The young girl on the upstairs till unpackaged it, checked all on the price/size labels and then smelt it, scrunched her nose up and said, "Have you warn this?" I told her that I'd tried it on. I bath twice a day. What was she trying to say? I felt so insulted and I have a good mind to return the other jacket.

Went to M&S cafe at Hempstead. Its had a refurb since I last went there and it's definitely for the worse!
Tables not cleared....although when I asked a young lady she did come and clear it for me. The self serve ordering service does not speed things up....its too complicated for the older customers, my mum struggled! They have a disk system to deliver you drinks to you....it doesn't buzz or light up so can't really see the point! Think the lady found us by sheer luck. The hot chocolate, latte and an americano all came in same size cups? My cup was chipped
The chocolate and latte were barely warm while the americano was scalding! Size of the cup meant it didn't cool down despite adding cold milk! This is not an improvement and M&S can do better. Will go to Jamaica Blue cafe next time.

Unfortunately very upsetting. Rude cashier in upstairs clothing department. My toddler had chosen a toy dinosaur, something he was very excited about. First she refused to serve us and told us to go to self service. I did, although not easy with a hyper 2 year old. Then the bar code didn't work, she tutted and nodded to her checkout. My little one very happily handed her the dinosaur. She tried it once and then said "no, can't sell it... that's it I'm afraid" there was no explanation or attempt to rectify the issue. A very upset little one and very poor customer service. I could have cried! You should be ashamed of yourself.

Ordered toast and jam . Toast arrived but no jam. Was told ' jam comes with coffee' . By time the coffee arrived the toast was cold. Completely illogical. Also only 1 waitress so trays of coffee/ tea were stacking up. Such an odd system. Vegetarian breakfast was nice though.

My husband and myself were at t Hempstead Valley cafeteria yesterday (Saturday 25/11/23). We were really very disappointed in the cleaning of the tables. We sat at a four seater table with food and mugs on. The young girl cleaning by passed our table twice. Such a shame as we do enjoy M&S cafeteria.

Lovely staff and great store that has everything you need. Nice cafe upstairs for when you visit!

Free parking with lovely wide spaces.
Cafe & toilet upstairs. Makes a great alternative to the service station just uup the road!

Unable to return gifted item even at reduced price as it was just outside of the 28 day return period.

Considering we have just come out of lock down I was kind to send some money but I found the store to be very flat and uninviting.

Love the variety, styles and sizes available. Also get items delivered there from vast online items😉

Nice selection clothes however not much room to walk about especially if you have a pushchair or in wheelchair

They have good sales and loads of colourful tops dresses and jumpers

First time purchase, very pleased. Friendly, helpful staff; well laid out store; some nice pieces.
