What an unexpected great outing we had touring the Biedenharn Museum & Garden today. Antoine started with the Coke Museum and gave a grand explanation for the start of Coke bottling. Paula did an exceptional job with a wealth of information regarding the family and house. Ralph shared his extensive knowledge of the Bible Museum and garden. I took many pictures hoping to capture our trip to share. Don’t miss this treasure!
Only $10 for 4 different area and 2 tours. Very nice. Can get a coke for 5 cents so bring your nickle

Great place to know history of coca cola bottling.
Visited relatives in Louisiana and had the opportunity to visit the African American Museum in Northeast Louisiana. Our guide was not only gracious but very knowledgeable about African American history. Wish I had taken more pictures of the historical items on display because they were very interesting.

Museum was excellent in history and the gardens were so beautiful to walk around and or just sit in peace and tranquility

Interesting family history, garden and museums. We only did the Bible museum. The other is a small coke a cola museum. Ever wonder how Salvador Dalai would illustrate a Bible, you can see one here. Wonderful religious art some very valuable and historical.
Very nice local art museum. They have new exhibits come in regularly. Admission is free. Very relaxing place to visit. Usually isn't crowded. Great place for all ages to visit.
Nice place, small but lots of art to look at. Great displays. They also have a scavenger hunt for kids.
This was a nice place to visit. The Coke Bottling Part of the Museum was very informative. I learned new things about Coke. Got a bottle of Coke for a Nickel. The House was very beautiful. Learned a lot about the Opera Singer Emy Lou. The Garden was gorgeous. I imagine it's breathtaking when the flowers are in bloom. We really enjoyed the Bible Museum also.
We went to the African American artist exhibit and it was amazing! If you've never been to the Masur Museum then you are missing out on a treasure!
Awesome Coke museum. The other parts of the museum areas were great as well. Looking at all the Coke stuff took me back to my childhood growing up in Arkansas and seeing my Uncle Will who retired from the Coke plant in Batesville after 44 years. He had an old Coke machine too.
I love going to the Masur Museum. It is a great free, local place to take out of town friends. The art rotates enough that even local folks can enjoy the museum over and over. They do amazing outreach in the community.
Gayle was a wonderful guide. We loved that she was very knowledgeable and we also received a great recommended place to have lunch.

The Masur Museum of Art is the largest visual arts museum in Northeast Louisiana presents temporary exhibitions ranging from Old Master prints to works by contemporary artists. Definitely a point of interest for the art enthusiast; but, also a great place to learn about various types of art.
Masur Museum is a great place to visit for adults and children. It provides activities such as presentations, exhibitions, educational programs, and signature events. The building itself is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. If you like local Art and around Northeast Louisiana, its a must visit.

I didn't get to see it all. I went on a Sunday, and most museums in that area are not open in Sunday or Monday.
It just so happens that a retired Captain from the Fire Dept was there and he let me look around a little bit.
They had works from a real favors artist Don Cincone. Very beautiful pictures.

I was impressed with the building and artifacts, but the signage and lighting leave much to be desired. I visited at night, and I missed the road to the building. I haven't visited Chennault Park since I left Monroe in the late 1990s, so the lack of lighting was rather unnerving. Hopefully the City will remedy this situation soon.
I was very impressed with the building itself. I was, however, disappointed with the lack of directional signage and lighting that exists in the park.
I attended a private event at the museum, and arrived well after dark. Being unfamiliar with the venue, I passed the security stand and proceeded to take a leisurely drive through the golf course after 10 p.m. Thankfully I was able to call someone and get directions, but I never would have seen the museum driveway otherwise. I used Waze to help me find the museum, but it directed me to a location on Milhaven Road itself. Hopefully some other traveler will update the app to be more accurate.
My score: Museum, 4.8 for the effort. Lighting and directional signage, -3 which combined equals 1.8. (I rounded it up to 2...you're welcome.) Please, get more lights or at least shine lights on the sign at the museum driveway. Oh yeah...there was a tree limb that partially covered the sign as well, so this was a contributing factor to the lack of nighttime visibility.

It's always a welcoming environment at this museum. History is captured with paintings, artificats, as well as other visual pieces.
A GREAT place for events and historical visits.
Intriguing building. We enjoyed a walk around the outside grounds. I was disappointed to learn that this place is temporarily closed. There are signs posted on the door that they are preparing for a new exhibit and will be closed from May 14th - 29th, 2019. It is an easy to get to and quick find off the highway.
We loved visiting this quaint museum with their eclectic exhibition that is showing right now. Even though they recently encountered a fire at their storage facility, they were very professional in every expect of presentation. We loved the diversity of the exhibit and hope to go back soon.
Really nice. Interesting local artifacts and art pieces. Wonderful and friendly volunteer staff. It was recently cleaned up and landscaped by a local group, so it looks way better than it did before.
