Nie jest to żadne must see, ale jak się jest dłużej w Bilbao można zajrzeć, tym bardziej, że bilet to zaledwie 3 euro
Interesting museum dedicated to ecclesiastical art, mainly by Vizcaya artists, located in an old convent. It has paintings, statues, clothing and a large collection of jewellery.

Closed for refurbishment at the moment.

It is a museum with extravagant exterior. I really did not find the interior so exceptional. Picasso's sculptures made me think about beauty around us, but I felt strange after seeing them. He is definitely not my type of genius. I really preferred the tulips on the first floor 🌷.
We had a great time while visiting the Museum inside and outside. I like it a lot, especially the architecture of the building. The exhibitions were also interesting and we dedicated time to each other, to see and to understand it.

I totally recommend the museum. I would revisit it in future.
Great little museum within a preserved historic building. Brilliant showcase of old silver, statues, vestments and art. 100% worth a visit. But, bring a phone with you to utilise google translate, not all exhibits are translated into English!
I supposed everything that needs to be said about this iconic building is said.

I must admit after reading and seeing pictures of the Guggenheim remotely, I set the bar too high. That said, it is still an overwhelming sight. I am just glad I am able to see it in person.

If you come to Bilbao, a big part of that decision is because you want to see this. And the exhibits if they are to your taste.
The place is massive and beautiful with lots of sculptures and arts. Inside the museum is a bar and bistro, where you can get a bite and have a rest. Near the spider sculpture, a lady that takes beautiful pictures of you in an old fashioned newspaper cover p kinda print out, set up a stand there, anyone going there should definitely get their pictures taken by her.
Modern art just doesn’t interest me personally. Very glad that I visited the museum, but wouldn’t get tickets to go back inside. The architecture of the building along with the outdoor sculptures on the other hand were very impressive. If you’re not into modern art I’d definitely recommend visiting the Guggenheim from the outside.
It is a very small museum location in a neighborhood setting. There are some interesting pieces or art and a sizable collection of religious silver and vestments. The building itself is quite interesting and has what appears to be a cloister attached to a closed church nearby. If you are a student of such art. As I am, then worth a visit. It is not crowded. I covered it in detail in one hour. But if have limited time I’d visit major churches. It is free entry when I visited.

The people at the front desk were nice.

The exposition could be larger. The most memorable, for me, was the medieval trading boat.

I wish it had more maritime art, though there was some.
The museum is full of maritime history, which may not be everyone's first interest. The history of Bilbao city and especially it's transformation since the eighties however was fascinating and made the visit well worth the while.
The building was already amazing on the outside, but love to walk through it too. The exhibitions were quite diverse, so I like some of it. However, other things did not fully suit my taste. Currently the second floor is not open, so a 1 hour visit was all we needed. Luckily the tickets were relatively cheap. Definitely worth a visit!
Definitely the best experience for culture and art in Bilbao. Even though we took young children it was entertaining enough for everybody with famous artists and exhibitions that make you think, reading books for the young ones, and audio descriptions for older ones! Everything is beautiful inside and out.
This museum is awesome! The exhibitions were great, but only the building itself is worth the visit, outside and inside. The staff was also kind, and the museum was full (August holiday time), so it is good to buy tickets in advance, directly in their website.
Beautiful building and premises. Definitely worth seeing from outside. Unfortunately we were not big fans of the exposition inside. Way too expensive for what you get to see. If you’re not a fan of weird art and doubting to go, don’t do it.
The cafeteria is nice, tasty options.

I am surprised how quiet this museum was, it is so interesting! I spent a happy 3 hours inside and would recconend anyone in Bilbao to have a look. A very interesting insight to the history and present of Bilbao and the surrounding waters.

The tickets are also very cheap for students and there are bathrooms inside.
Modern and abstract art. Not my cup of tea really. Some of the art installations were so good, they were breathtaking. Some were simply confusing, and others were so bad that I could've done better with one hand tied behind my back and a blindfold on while hopping on one leg and eating an ice cream. Worth visiting for sure, but unless you're into your existentialism, and into finding inspiration where clearly none exists, then you'll struggle to have a four or five star experience here. 3.5 stars, no more. Probably five stars if you like modern and abstract. I don't.
Unique experience, both art and architecture. Worth visiting and spending a few hours to explore. Part of the exhibition is outside so having a good weather would be nice. Lower rating as the Gift shop is extremely overpriced, you can barely find any item that is less than 20 euro.
The Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao is absolutely exceptional. From its exquisite architecture to it extraordinary exhibits, it's simply a must-see attraction that anyone and everyone who has the opportunity should visit. I loved every minute and look forward to the new things I'll find next time that I visit it.
Amazing experience. Visit and walking around the gigantic museum, experiencing all the shades and reflections depending on the weather of Bilbao is an experience. As well as visiting the different exhibitions continuously researched by the Museum. The ground floor with the steel curves from Serra is a must see, no space could better fit the dynamics of the art.

A great display and introduction to the history of the region, especially how the maritime laws evolved. Well worth a visit
what a masterpiece building ! amazing on the outside and inside, the tour in the museum took us approximately 1.5 hour to see pretty much everything, we had no much time so we were on a rush. no cue when we went to buy tickets. if you visit Bilbao even for a few hours -like us- visit it! worth it 100%

I was surprised how good this place was! Interesting films and installations. It charts the history of Bilbao in an engaging way.
Title: A Serendipitous Voyage through Itsasmuseum: Bilbao's Hidden Gem

Bilbao, Spain – a city renowned for its architectural prowess, gastronomic delights, and the Guggenheim Museum. But hidden amidst the vibrant streets and bustling pintxo bars lies a lesser-known gem that caught me off guard: Itsasmuseum. Initially, I approached this maritime museum with low expectations, assuming it would be a mere collection of rusty anchors and dusty ship models. However, what awaited me inside was a delightful surprise that swept me away on an unexpected nautical adventure.

Stepping into Itsasmuseum, the first thing that struck me was its breathtaking design. Set within a restored warehouse by the river, the museum's modern and sleek architecture seamlessly merged with its industrial past, creating a sense of anticipation as I made my way through its doors. I could feel the thrill of the open seas calling me deeper into its domain.

My expectations, however, were quickly shattered as I delved into the intricate details and beauty of the exhibits. The museum's collection spanned centuries, showcasing the rich maritime history that shaped Bilbao and its people. From ancient navigational tools to a captivating display of seafaring maps, the meticulous attention to detail was awe-inspiring. Itsasmuseum breathed life into the maritime world, making me feel like an intrepid explorer on an epic voyage.

Wandering from room to room, I couldn't help but notice one minor drawback – not all the displays had translations in English. It was a regrettable oversight, and I couldn't help but wonder if I missed out on some intriguing narratives due to the language barrier. Nonetheless, the vibrant visuals and captivating artifacts managed to transcend the boundaries of language, captivating my imagination and igniting a sense of wanderlust.

One exhibit in particular stood out, showcasing the Basque region's strong connection to the sea and its fishing traditions. The vibrant photographs, the distinct aroma of the sea, and the interactive displays that allowed me to try my hand at traditional Basque fishing techniques were the highlights of this immersive experience. The museum's commitment to preserving the cultural heritage of the region was evident in every corner.

The highlight of my visit, however, was a replica of an ancient Basque whaling boat, painstakingly reconstructed with such precision that I could almost feel the waves crashing against its bow. It was as if I had stepped back in time, witnessing the courage and resilience of those who embarked on perilous journeys in pursuit of these magnificent creatures. Itsasmuseum succeeded in immersing me in the history and culture of Bilbao's maritime legacy.

Beyond the exhibits, Itsasmuseum offered breathtaking views of the Nervion River and the surrounding cityscape. The picturesque panorama from the museum's terrace provided a moment of tranquility and reflection, allowing me to appreciate the juxtaposition of Bilbao's industrial past with its modern-day vibrancy.

I urge you to venture off the beaten path and discover Itsasmuseum. Embrace the unexpected, for it is often where the true beauty lies. Despite the occasional language barrier, the museum's immersive exhibits and impeccable attention to detail will transport you on an unforgettable journey through Bilbao's maritime history. So set sail, my fellow explorers, and prepare to be pleasantly surprised. Bon voyage!
Informative museum sharing Bilbao's maritime past and future. Lots of the blurb is in English too.
Loved the museum, found it really interesting to see how Bilbao developed over time, and the surfing related history of the area.
A decent and wide selection of sacred paintings and artefacts taken from local Basque churches and displayed over two floors of this beautiful building. Highlights include some finely engraved gold and silver crosses, stone sculptures and wooden carvings as well as traditional and modern religious paintings and artworks.
Nice museum! Many beautiful works of silvercraft and paintings. Don't miss the escape room game inside!
