Outstanding opportunity to see modern manufacturing technology at work. It was absolutely fascinating to see pickup trucks assembled right before your eyes by a combination of automation and efficient use of human resources. I especially appreciated that we were not herded through in a group, but were allowed to proceed at our own pace. This tour should be a "must see" for any Michigan visit.

This place is amazing. There is so much history to be learned here. They have the bus Rosa Parks made history own. You are able to sit inside of it. If you're planning on going here. Make it more of a day thing. I didn't realize how much there really was to do here. There's a village too which we didn't get to do because of the time we arrived.

Our family stopped in to visit the museum on the way back from a trip through Canada and we're glad we took the slight detour on our way back home.
There is so much automotive and American history packed into this space.
We could have spent many more hours walking around looking at exhibits but the youngest of our kids had finally had enough after 3 hours.
Be sure to check out the paper airplane creation space if you have little ones. We spent the most time there tweaking our designs for the ultimate flight distance.
The presidential limos and train area were really cool as well.

Very high ticket price plus paid parking is extreme, but the museum does have a nice collection. The layout is a labyrinth that you have to snake through to see everything. If you read every sign and marker, you could spend more than a day here probably. Even with a more casual interest, I spent a few hours wandering around. Some interesting oddities include the bus Rosa Parks protested on, the chair Abraham Lincoln was shot in, and JFK's infamous car. Interesting pieces of history, albeit at an exorbitant cost.

My boyfriend and I visited the Ford museum the end of August last year. We live about 6 hours away in Kentucky. He works in the automotive industry. We both enjoy learning and going to museums. This museum was spectacular! It was huge! It definitely takes a few hours to get through. We bought our tickets once we arrived. You can also purchase them online in advance. There is plenty of parking. There is a restaurant inside the museum as well as a food court area. We had a great day! We did not go to the Village but plan to go there next time!

Hands down the most fascinating museum of all time and to think how priceless this exhibit is! You see everything from the light bulb is invented to the car JFK was assassinated to riding in the cars that put the world on wheels…..the Model T. You can watch glass blowing, pottery making, knitting and weaving, printing and more! There is so much effort and truly honoring exhibits to the American legacy as a country and the inventions made that have bettered the lives of many for more than a century! What an honor to come see all this in person! They even had a Tucker Torpedo! Such a rare vehicle! You can go in trains and the stations for kids were neat too! Kids could do some neat projects too! Hands down a MUST

Exceeded my expectations!
This place is broken up into so many subcategories and is so massive it just goes on and on and I really was blown away by it!
If you want to see everything you need to plan on a couple days. There are tickets that you can buy that you can keep overnight and bring back the next day if that's necessary in your situation.
I only went through the museum itself which would be 3 to 4 hours if you walk briskly. There's also the village area which would take an entire day as well. At the time of writing this the museum ticket was $35 per adult in the village area ticket was $41 per adult. The museum has an area with miniature doll houses, steam engines, agricultural equipment from long ago, etc.
There was even mathematics exhibit and science center where you can get your geek on... There were a lot of kids in this area as well as the area that had dinosaurs.
There are full size airplanes hanging.
There were massive train engines and cars throughout the exhibit showing you how massive and big this building is!
I did not see everything so I look forward to going back someday!

Very disappointed they make you pay to park here. The ticket prices are high enough as it is.
That is my only complaint. Other than that, this place is phenomenal. Spiritual almost when you interact with some of the artifacts and displays. Getting to sit in the bus Rosa Parks made history on was unforgettable.
The ticket price is high and worth it. The parking is a scam.

Really good time. Had 4 hours to kill before a flight and spent it wandering here. In the four hours I was there I probably saw half or less of what the museum offers. I could easily spend two days here. The staff was fantastic and the kids loved it.

I highly recommend touring this place! It is a neat piece of history and innovation. We were there on a holiday weekend, so we did not get to see the factory in full operation, but it is still very worthwhile. Overall a very worthwhile place to visit!

We gad the all acess tour with factory, museum and village for 191 Dollar for two people. But "all acess" does not mean, that the rides in the village are included. I understand, that the borrowing of the Ford T in the village costs extra. But not including the train ride for nearly 200 Bucks seems a little greedy to me.
Anyway, the factorytpor is great, although no pictures are allowed. The rather small and expensive giftshop is nice. The stuff is very friendly! Take notice that in the museum there is the famous Spirit of St Louis, Rosa Barks Bus and Lincoln's chair, in which he was assassinated!

Amazing experience! You get to see the assemble line of the Ford F-150 (photos are prohibited) and learn about how everything works inside the plant. Recommended for everybody, whether you are interested in the industry or not!

A very cool tour I wasn't able to take many pictures. There was about 6 stations to look at, 2 videos and a few stations to view cars, there was a factory over look.

Just one amazing place. God Bless the Ford family and God Bless the men and women who work there. This place is truly a testament to the passion and drive of hard working Americans!!!

The tour was GREAT! Very informative, educational and well designed. The staff from start to finish were friendly and professional. The assembly line was amazing to see!

We went for free. Got my monies worth. I love cars but this is not my cup of tea. As others have stated it is a person museum not an automotive museum.

A fantastic gem for those who love all things automotive. Great historic details and background on the giants who built the industry, and those who lead it today. Well worth the visit!

Very nice museum! full of biographic information from the pioneers of the automobile industry! a must for visitors that want to know more about the people who made and change the industry.

A nice experience. Very interesting to see how the F-150 is made. You can't take pictures until you get to the viewing deck where you'll get an interesting presentation on how Ford 8s making the plant environmentally friendly.

Good tour for the price. Only F-150’s being made. No photos allowed in the factory and first two parts of the tour.

A great experience for the automotive industry lover! There's so much information about the "behind the scenes" people that I never realized. Did you know the inventor of the cruise control was blind?? A very informative look at the industry for someone either in or going into the business.

First time visiting very interesting would highly recommend. The lady that we purchased our tickets from at the main entrance was extremely informative and helpful made for such a nice experience. They are not opened every day, so check their website to make sure they’re open on the day you’re planning to go. Another added bonus was free EV charging at the front.

Tickets for the tour can be bought from Ford Museum/Greenfield Village entrance, but be aware: it takes at least two hours to finnish the tour (although you can leave when you want), so if you arrive late at the site you won't be able to do all three of them. The tickets are valid for several days, so you can visit one at a time. It takes about 20 minutes to reach the factory by bus, which leaves from the front of the Ford Museum. The tour is comprised of 5 stations: history of Ford Factory movie, car production presentation, overview of the factory from up above, the actual factory tour (you get to walk through some corridors above the factory lines) and a hall in which some symbol-cars of the company are exhibited. You can't take pictures anywhere except for the overview deck.

This was definitely the highlight of my visit to the greater Detroit area. We booked the factory tour online 2 weeks ahead of time and parking was included as an additional cost. When we arrived, we found a spot pretty close to the Welcome Center and made our way to the bus pickup location. If you arrive ahead of your time, they will try to get you included on an earlier tour. The ride to the factory seemed long but it was worth it. No pictures were allowed but the tour was amazing and well thought out. The video at the beginning was informative and kept everyone’s attention. Production was halted for the day but we were still allowed to walk and see the production lines. It was really cool, so I can only imagine how much more we wouldn’t have enjoyed it if we had seen some real action. I’d love to go again and highly recommend!

Wow! This was an extraordinary experience for me and the whole family. The 3D movie, history movie and factory tour were amazing, staff explained very nicely and we're so friendly.
Bus ride was right on time.
We tried going to the museum and the village after the factory tour, it was a bit too much for one day. I recommend choosing 2 out of the 3 if you are traveling with little ones
Tour was fully accessible with the baby stroller.

Awesome Tour. This is our first time visiting an assembly plant. You get to see how F150 is built, in front of your eyes. Photos are not allowed inside the plant. No time limit, you can watch the assembly line for the whole day if you like. 10 mins bus ride from main visitor centre.

Great museum. I didn't do outside as it was raining, but the normal and limited museum exhibitions are always worthy of a visit. The things to do and see are fairly varied, from cars to art.

I took the factory tour on July 3rd, and it was worth every penny!
Make sure you get here with some time to spare beforehand (I would recommend 20min before the shuttle departure), as there can be some distance from the parking area to the shuttle bus station, depending on where you park. I miscalculated and missed my initial bus; although the staff was kind enough to exchange my ticket for the next one, it is not guaranteed.
The tour is very well organized. It goes like this: Bus to factory – standard theatre (history of Ford and the factory) – immersive theatre (super cool) – observation deck (you can stay for longer after the initial explanation to read the panels and ask questions) – actual factory visit (self-guided walk-around with staff members/volunteers posted at key points) – ground floor exhibit, gift shop and Living Lab tour.
The overall experience was very novel and exciting, especially as someone with an interest in transportation but not from a STEM background. It was a pity that the factory workers were on a scheduled weeklong break during my visit, so I couldn’t see the factory production in action, but good for the workers! Nevertheless, it was cool to walk around the factory and see all the still machinery. I wish there were more signs along the walking route to explain what we were seeing. I found that some staff knew more than the others, so perhaps more training would be nice.
I would recommend asking for the Living Lab tour at the end. The tour was not proactively offered; I only knew about it from the website. Upon asking for it, the staff team did find a young, cheerful guide, who gave my group a private tour to show us the gardens, the factory’s environmental and sustainability initiatives, and even the failed solar panels. It was really cool to see the successes and failures and the implications of the factory and the initiatives on the environment.
In all, we spent about 3 hours from boarding the bus to getting off the bus back at the Henry Ford, and perhaps 3.5 hours in total when taking into account the time for parking, gift shop, waiting for the bus, etc. It’s a huge and fascinating place so budget enough time to fully take in the experience.
Note that photography is not allowed in the actual factory, so don’t expect to take cool shots of the production!

Incredibly fascinating place. They don't have many cars in the musuem, the musuem is mainly about the people that changed the auto industry. You can get a free guided tour that's about a hour long and if you can get it, I would highly recommend it.

A very nice gallery that explains the life and the minds of some extraordinary people arround the globe that have had great success in the automotive industry.
Good museum for People that want to read about great Engineering minds.
