Had a great first visit to Old Millstone Forge this weekend. Unlike other museums and demonstrators, the forge encourages visitors to get involved and learn the art of blacksmithing, as well as the history of the forge. Fun activity to do with friends or as a date. Looking forward to returning!

Great historical place!

My 4th visit here. So many trails to walk or bike.

It's such a treat to visit the grounds here. On my last visit or party of 14 rented bicycles from the visitors center and had an outstanding day! The fountain was not in service at the time but we had a fantastic time just the same.

Slamin place for some premo adventures

Beautiful place

My first visit today - what an experience! JP (the museum leader blacksmith - a woman) and Ed were just fabulous with their knowledge and obvious love of the craft and their recounting of the museum's history as a working forge in Somerset County until about 1958. I will join the group supporting this museum for sure. Open Sundays 1-4PM during the "tepid months", Sep-Nov and Apr-June (the museum is as it was, no heat, no A/C, no electricity, a coal forge, even a 16th century anvil!

Come visit on Sunday between 1:00 and 4:00.

Open on Somerset county historical weekends. I've been to other forges, this is the best because of the woman who explains it all, and the young man who is an apprentice of this rare trade.
