Great time with our toddler see Daniel the Tiger and going on a short little trolly ride. Fun for the kids. Ample parking. Large store for gifts and snacks. Pleasant staff. Worth an afternoon trip.

Amazingly done!
Worth the trip!
Also, we took the train ride, which was nice, saw and walk through some of the old rail cars and rented the pedal cars, which was also a nice experience!

Amazing museum with a great collection of old trolleys from around the world, model train set, restoration barn, and more. Our favorite part was riding the trolley down the rail line a few miles through the woods. The conductors and staff were friendly and kind, inviting our kids to ride in the front and even try on their conductor hats for pictures. The staff were so generous to share their passion and knowledge with all of the visitors. Tickets are good for unlimited same day rides if you have time to linger. Definitely worth a stop!!

We had such a fun day there!! Make sure you leave extra time for the trolley ride during your visit. The conductor we had today told us he had been working there for over 30 years. The other conductor had lots of good history to share. The entire space has so many eras of trains, buses, and trolleys including double deckers from the UK that you can climb into and up to the top! They also just opened a really cool model train exhibit—it was so detailed and we felt lucky we got to see it on our trip up here. Also side note they sell Moxie and it was like a blast from the past having it again after so many years! I highly recommend checking this museum out.

I am a Volunteer Handcar Operator, I am at the Museum on days that are ‘Handcar Specific’.
I also work for Revolution Rail, the Rail Bike organization that has partnered with the Museum.

The length of the trolley ride was just right for our family. Checked some boxes. We didn't explore too much around the grounds, though, as we were low on time. We did spend a good amount of time in the model train area, although not finished, it was still nice. Might need signs in the bathrooms in that new building to know which button to use to flush that fancy toilet, haha.
All the staff and volunteers were very nice.
I found the prices at the gift shop pretty standard, and I'm so excited about the train duck.

Visited opening day for the 2024 season. What a great museum, they have trolleys and buses from around the world. We enjoyed being able to explore and get up close to these transit relics!

I thought this was a fascinating museum, covering trolleys in the world's first and largest museum of mass transit vehicles. It was fun to walk through some of them and hear about the history of transportation. They do run seasonally - opening in May, 2024. They also run seasonal events.

For train buff enthusiasts. This is a hit.. sotrolly ride for children, and all is very entertaining. Many, many old rail cars form all part of the world.. it's very interesting for museum folks.

The views from this house must be amazing

Great museum, very interesting and fun day out. Kids will love it it here, adults too but you’ve got to enjoy kids screaming and crying around you lol
The lady who sold us tickets didn’t give me the sheet with all the info on it, so we were confused for a bit. I went back and asked for more info and received the info sheet and clarification on where you could go while waiting for the trolley.
Trolley ride is short but very interesting and nostalgic. As of Oct 9th, it will stop and let you out to pick a pumpkin to bring back to paint at the station.
Google stated rate was $13 for an adult but it’s $15.

Amazing little place to spend a little time with family. Very kid friendly. I went with some older family and they loved it. Staff were very nice and helpful! The tour was fun. Really makes you think of the old days lol.

As a longtime train enthusiast, I greatly enjoyed the museum. The ride on a historic, fully restored trolley car is very scenic, and the staff were knowledgeable and friendly. There are many sights to see on site, including several preserved railroad interlocking towers, antique transit buses, and subway cars from New York and Boston. Definitely worth a visit for any history buff.

We recently made the 1.5-hour trek down with our homeschool group for a field trip to experience this wonderful museum! The Trolley ride was so much fun, and just being able to explore the grounds and other trolleys was so cool and definitely worth the trip!

Beautiful discovery !
Dog friendly 🐶 (no add fees)
We enjoyed it sooo much !
You can do the short trolley ride (multiple departure) and visit the museum at your rythm. We learn they organised events sometimes and it must be very beautiful (the dinosaurs, the pumpkins, etc) There's also a beautiful gift shop. You can find picnik tables outsides to eat and there's games at your disposition ! We spent the day there and it was fun and relaxing.
The whole staff is also very friendly !
If you're looking for a vintage and historic experience, not too expensive, pet and family friendly, I recommend 🤗

Absolutely recommend visiting this place if you're even remotely interested in history, transit, or just want a fun unique experience! The Seashore Trolley museum is one of the coolest museums I have ever visited. As a transit geek such as myself, learning all about the history of streetcars, where they went, and future history behind it is amazing. They have a HUGE collection of old trolleys and even buses from all over the United States and even some outside of the US! Trolley rides are offered on historical trolleys to a small mini park giving visitors an excellent guide on the history of trolleys. You can also bike along the same track (if you so wish). For getting there, it's best to have a car, but if you don't, the Amtrak Downeaster stops nearby in Saco and Wells, a Greyhound bus serves Wells as well. Note that a Taxi/Uber IS required to access the museum as it's decently remote. Anybody in the Maine area stopping by that is visiting this area MUST stop here!

Fascinating collection of beautifully restored and soon to be restored trolleys. The included trolley ride is pleasant; but the historical commentary could be a bit more practiced.
There is construction going on, and many restricted area. Better signage to allowable paths would be helpful. Don't miss the restoration shop!

A very cool place with lots of history. The focus of the tour however is on a specific married couple who owned the house. It was interesting to see how the wealthiest lived at the time and were able to afford amenities I didn’t know existed then!
I found the relationship between the marriage couple to be a bit bizarre- the guy came from immense wealth while the wife came from humble roots yet she was super demanding and he was always trying to please her so it was an uneven relationship for sure. Anyways, the tour was great but I would’ve like a little more history on the town itself only because the relationship between the spouses were a little irritating.
But the guide was great and engaging and puts life into this house! It really is a beautiful piece of history and worth a visit 💜
But that relationship… oh boy 😂

This place is wonderful, educational, and fascinating. Anne gave us a fabulous tour. We just loved it and are so glad we included the tour on our vacation.

Well put together and very informative. Nice staff

Best for of learning, welcoming staff, not a museum but a well preserved estate to learn about local and national history.

Lovely home dating from the early years of Kennebunkport history. Amazing that the house and furnishings had been left to the Historical Society. So many items and rooms look like the family had stepped out for a moment.

Really enjoyed the hour tour here by Bob. What a memory for detail he has! The home is in great shape, with lots of original wallpaper, rugs and furniture. Despite huge crowds in the town this Friday noon, there were only four of us on the tour. There is so much rich history to be found in the lives and artifacts of the past on display here. Well worth your time!

Wonderful for history buffs.

Very nicely kept property, lots of interesting items inside. Our docent was very knowledgeable and able to answer answer all my questions! Great experience for anyone interested in American history.

Oh!! Such a nice area. The people were nice. Plenty to do. Nice restaurants nearby. I loved it.

Really interesting museum and our tour guide was excellent. It's amazing the history this house has witnessed. It's amazing how well preserved everything is, including wallpaper and carpeting from the 1800's. This is a really interesting stop if you're in Kennebunkport!

One can understand why the President would want to vacation here.

Really cool

If in the area. Don't miss this local history site. Take the tour and enjoy stepping back in a time capsule to 1850. Pam was our guide. She was great.

I guess we didn't research well. We thought this was an actual Bush home. Having said that our tour guide was great. Fantastic. I don't remember her name (darnit) but the Tennessee accent will give her away. She was the highlight of our day. My advice...check this place out. It's worth the time.

Historic to a tribute of our former President

We had a great time on our tour. Lynn was very knowledgeable and friendly! We really enjoyed our tour, and Lynn even offered some other historic facts about the town and local buildings, which was an added bonus!
