Wonderful loop with awesome staff. On the trip up the mountain the staff walked through the cars asking if we had any questions. The trip down the mountain was narrated with facts about the line as well as the surrounding area. Would definitely recommend it to someone touring this area.
Beautiful scenery. Rich history. Very friendly staff. A blast from the past vibe. A must visit even if you have to drive a while. Well worth it.
We did the Georgetown Loop Railroad with the add-on mine tour and gold panning. The adventure was perfect for our 5-year old (and great for parents, too). The silver mine tour with John David was fascinating. He did a good job with the kids. It helped they got flashlights and were able to touch different parts of the mine. It was also the right length tour to keep a kid interested. Panning for gold (and everyone finding real gold flakes) was the cherry on top.

The train ride itself was fun. They shared interesting information about the train and route - and our child enjoyed that a conductor came and actually punched everyone’s ticket.
It was really fun riding train and mine tour. We went there on Father's day and all fathers got root beer after the ride. Nice surprise!
Had a fabulous train ride today for Father's Day! Perfect weather and breathtaking scenery! I highly recommend this excursion.

What a fun experience for our family! A real life train on a mountain near old coal mines! My kids 6 and under all enjoyed it so much! It was snowing during our ride which was fun and cold at the same time! Great customer service as well!
This was a perfect day trip! Our kids had a lot of fun! And our parents from Europe loved it! The views are beautiful and the atmosphere on the train ride was magical. There is a little gift/food shop at the end of the train ride before you start heading back. But there is also a gift shop at the beginning where you can buy some cool toys and stones. When we were there they also had a photographer, so you can take a family photo and then buy it later.
Enjoyable but not for $35 pp. the ride was fairly short, 30minutes one way? Didn’t bother getting off at SilverPlume because the tour allotted less than 10minutes to explore and by the time everyone debarked we’d have to board again. Scenery was pretty and enjoyed the conductor’s commentary upon return to the station. Staff members were friendly and informative.
Very nice museum kids loved the train display
I quite liked this place! It had a lot to look at and some cute things for the kids. All the volunteers were very knowledgeable and helpful. I couldn’t believe the amount of planes they had and you could look inside them! I would absolutely go back.
A wonderful small museum and tour guide. Learned some important history. Well worth the trip and time.
Absolutely fantastic experience! I highly recommend this to all aviation enthusiasts, history buffs, and especially aviation history lovers!
Great staff, amazing property and it bring history to the present. The uniqueness of this museum is just amazing!

Great place to visit. Great people.
We flew in the B-25 Panchito and that was truly an unforgettable experience. Bill, who helped me organize this gift for my husband was amazing, and did everything he could to accommodate us. Every crew member was beyond nice and made sure we had a great experience. They are all volunteers who are passionate about aviation, and they spent time to tell us about the aircraft, the association and any thing we asked about.
The gift was for my husband who is an aviation fan, he loved it. I loved it too and I’m so glad I took a ride as well.
The aircraft is a piece of history and it’s genuinely a fabulous experience. We highly recommend it for any one looking for a unique flying experience!!

They were closed, even though their website had about 4 different things that it said should have been taking place. Gotta love telling your kid all week about the big train event we're going to on Saturday, then when you get there, they are closed. Good thing there's so many other things to do in that area for kids in Winter.
Great service, the tour guide was the best! I will never have a better experience in my life. I was not very interested in this plane, but after I went I can’t get enough, they have a great volunteer that should get paid, Becuse he maid my experience better =D
Impressive amount of things to look at from planes and military Jeep to ongoing projects. Great fun and learning experience for my brother excited grandson! He was really amazed that he was able to get so close to the planes and military Jeep. The staff was friendly and tailored throw presentation to a young child's level.
Wings & Wheels Festival great event but typical Georgetown no forethought for traffic cop sitting in cars and standing around no help with traffic
Free parking, free admission. Awesome displays. However, I was highly disappointed because you need a guide to view most of the planes. I understand they probably do this to prevent things getting ruined by people unsupervised but I didn’t want to spend hours with a tour guide. It would be better if you could see everything at your own leisure.

Perfect for a small wedding or party of 100 or less. Set up soooo pretty inside. Whole facility is very clean.
Outstanding piece of Sussex County history. Lots of great displays. Really interesting stories of Mr. Marvel and his life in Delaware. A must see. There is too much to take in with one visit.
There is so much to see here, it's difficult to take it all in. In addition to the carriage collection, there is a telephone museum, old schoolhouse, old gas station, and lots of memorabilia. Make sure to check first if it's open, as it's staffed by volunteers!
