Awesome place to learn about this area's history.

Wonderful collection of all things Aurora Fire since the very beginning of the city. The building is beautiful and the people who take care of it care so much about it. Really great place to spend an afternoon. There's a great play room for children, as well.

This is a great museum dedicated to the military. The building its self is a part of history. The exhibits change from time to time so there's always something new to see. This museum and its Curator has received many awards. The city of Aurora has shown tremendous support for this museum and I'd love to see them expand it on a larger scale. Love this place!

Very interesting historical overview of the Aurora Fire Dept and surrounding area. A good mix of written, audio, and hands-on artifacts. Very important piece of Aurora's rich history that should not be overlooked. Well done!

A free tour that was well informed about not only Aurora IL history but also the Tanner family. It was nice to fill out some of our day with a great learning experience!

I recently hosted my daughter's birthday party here. I did the private rental. From start to finish, the experience was amazing and I couldn't have asked for a smoother process, better hosts, or a nicer venue for my fire truck enthusiast. Brian communicated with me from start to end and Molly was a great host. Everything was set up just like requested. The museum was nice to host adults and children. They all enjoyed themselves. It is nicely maintained with informative displays downstairs and my children absolutely loved the Children's Discovery Room! Go! Support! Donate! Book! You won't be disappointed.

So much awesome history. Definitely geared for a little bit older children and adults, but there’s a playroom upstairs for the littlest guests that we hung out in for quite a while.

Unfortunately you need an appointment to go here.

Loved this museum! Great displays as well as short, informative videos about fire fighting history. Fun children's area upstairs. From the sound of it, the kids were very engaged and having a good time there!

Had a meeting th set e of Woman's Club of Aurora. Properties gave us a talk about the place.

Great experience. Come learn about settling in Aurora, 1850 style. An awesomely beautiful building.

Lovely house in great condition!

Beautiful exhibits. Got to meet the "Treasure of Aurora" Eric P. At the ribbon cutting ceremony. What a knowledgeable young man. 10/10 would go again.

Prominent Aurora family mansion that is very well maintained. The 12 foot ceilings with painted plaster mouldings are amazing.

Both adults and children learned something from their tour. They have an option for a short movie clip that are age specific. They have a discovery room that is geared toward younger children.

I took my kids for the tour that is more child friendly. They absolutely loved it! All of the volunteers were knowledgeable and took their time answering questions.

Nice big house from way back in the day. Took the kids here on the 4th we all enjoyed the tours and the history.. Would recommend if your having a slow day and dnt know what to do...oh and its free. Donations are appreciated tho. So bring a buck or two if u got it.. If not they don't expect anything. Il go again for sure..

Free historical site. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable.

Love the Tanner house, lived near it always wanted to go inside and was amazed when i did! Definitely go and see it when they dress it up for the holidays.

I got to finally got to go on a tour of the Tanner House. It's been so beautifully cared for and restored. The Historical Society has done an amazing job here.

Was actually at the Aurora Historical society across the street which I enjoy very much. The GAR is a must see.

Pleasant and nicely maintained historic home.

I first experienced this museum on a First Friday event in Downtown Aurora. The staff was welcoming and offered to answer any questions we may have had during the tour. I really enjoyed looking at everything and there was a lot of interesting history to learn about.

Looked like a great pc of history. Wasnt able to get in. On the day i was there. Veey small and building was unique.

Beautiful building with an awesome history! It is a shame though that the city allowed the parking garage to be built so close to this historic building.

Beautiful inside! Recently redone and it looks great. So happy this is part of our community now.
