Beautiful experience, I was happy to find it open on a Sunday afternoon.
The kids loved it.

Didn’t know that we have such an amazing collection of gemstones and metals in Beirut; absolutely stunning 😍

Really one of the best mineral museums in the world, I would put this place in my top 3. Having some really rare pieces as well as one of the biggest collections of gems and stones as well as fossil’s but you know it’s not about the quantity, it’s about the quality and I would say this place has top tier quality pieces on showcase.
The things I recommend seeing when going there is firstly the radioactive part where they show how they glow in ultraviolet light as well in this room see the amber that comes from lebanon but the room is on the right side in a secluded room when you go in the mineral section of the museum.
Then the second thing i recommend seeing is the rare earth materials which is just when you come in the mineral room which shows different diamonds, gold formations and platinum.
The third thing I recommend is the meteorite that at the end of the mineral room that explains that there was a meteorite found in lebanon in the 1920s that’s now in USA (you’ll get more information when you go).
But in conclusion this is one of the best museums in lebanon and you cannot miss it if you’re a tourist.

A really good museum for the ones who love geology or simply like to see the beauties of nature. A pretty and varied collection of minerals, stones, crystals and fossils from diverse sites in the world. I went with the hop on hop off touristic bus, the entry was included in the process of the city sightseeing. I spent approximately 40 minutes at the museum, but I would recommend a little more time, if you want to appreciate with patience all of the collection. All ages can enjoy the visit. The gift shop is great. I bought a beautiful bracelet there for a friend.

Absolutely amazing museum where you can be inspired! I was in love to visit it and going to come back again. And buy something in their shop. Really one of the most beautiful museum I’ve ever been.
Everyone in Beirut must visit it! And doesn’t matter if you have a lot of money if not. Tickets are super affordable for everyone, I’m surprised they have a ticket for 10000 lbp. Less than the bottle of water!!!

An excellent place displaying one of the most interesting collections of minerals from many countries. The description is clear and concise and the place is meticulously clean.
There’s a souvenir shop to purchase interesting gifts and there’s a coffee house just outside the museum but in the same building.

Amazing and unique museum in lebanon. I recommend everyone to visit it, it’s very enriching and informative and the rocks and stones on display are some of the prettiest i have ever seen. The ticket is still very cheap (10,000) for now and you can easily spend a couple of hours there. Taking pictures is okay. And the souvenir shop has some nice things !

The best museum I've ever visited in Lebanon.
You will see all kinds of minerals, crystals, gemstones and even fossils.
It is a private collection of Mr. Salim Edde from around the world and some from our beloved Lebanon as well.
I don't have the exact count of minerals but I'm sure it's well over 2000.
Each one unique in size, shape, colour and origin.
And if you're lucky enough to have the guided tour (with Mr Salim himself) each has its own story and its challenges to get it all the way to Mim museum.
Also, it's really easy to get there, the entrance fee is 10 000 LBP (which is absolutely nothing for a museum of that calibre), free entrance for studends and kids (who should definitely visit as well)
The decor is simply on point, it looks like those museums you see in movies and each room has a certain lighting to it to put more value on the items on display.
I'm sure kids and students will enjoy the tour as much, if not more, than adults.
The geometrical shapes of those stones, the million of years in formation and the way they get formed in the end makes you in awe of nature and science.
Holograms, interactive touch screens and cool displays will also help you learn more about each mineral and a lot more on chemistry and the elements of nature in action.
I have shared some of the pictures I took inside but they don't do the collection any justice.
Make sure to visit!

This is a real hidden gem in Beirut. The story of Ibrahim Najem and his diving expeditions, as well as what he found throughout his life, is something extraordinary to behold
