Wonderful collection of modern stories and history plenty to learn . So much for the children to do. What a bargain 👌

Really good example of a local museum. A lot of interactive tasks for kids.

Fantastic museum, but that's not all. Friendly and helpful staff, great exhibits, a superb cafe, decent sized car park, old steam train (it doesn't go anywhere I'm afraid), great cakes and some of the best breakfast rolls (served all day) we've ever had.

Fantastic and interesting place to be on the guided tour was brilliant thank you Lenny

Well worth a visit. The inexpensive guided tour was informative, interesting and well delivered. It's a fascinating story of the building’s evolution during the industrial revolution. There are working wagdr turbines and industrial equipment. Allow about 1.5 hours for the trip.

Superb museum. Friendly reception and plenty of information. Parking directly outside, no height barrier (£3.50 for 2 hours). Brilliant railway carriage with exhibits all the way through, mainly about this locality, but with lots of interesting anecdotes. Inside the main building is a small mine shaft to walk through, information and speaking earphones, an abundance of old craft tools and machines. Tinsmith, cheesemakers, weavers and knitters to name only a few. There's a exhibition upstairs about keeping heaths, farmlands etc safe - with some colouring activities for children. Toilets, tourist information, gift shop and walk through to a seperate cafe all inside. Well presented and really interesting. Around £5 each (a £1 off if parked in the carpark alongside the museum).

Guided tour takes about 90 minutes and it’s one of the most interesting visits I’ve ever had. Our volunteer guide was extremely knowledgeable and took the time to engage with all of us. Can’t recommend this place enough

Fabulous place. The guides are volunteers who know all about the mill from beginning as a cotton mill and the workings of the saw mill etc. There's no charge to go in but a voluntary contribution is gratefully received to help keep the restoration going . £5 minimum was what was suggested but we put £10 each as the guide was fab and the history of the mill needs to keep going for generations to come.

Amazing place, so much history.
The Volunteers were brilliant, so informative and dedicated 👏

Thoroughly enjoyed our guided tour today, by Nigel. He was very knowledgeable and we are looking forward to going back to see what else has been restored. Well worth a visit.

A great day out. Brilliant Curlew exhibition at the time of visiting. Fantastic.

Great value, loads to see and do and handily placed to explore Hawes. Nice cafe too.

Great little museum with a good range of exhibits collected around the Dales, about rural life in the Dales.
The collection includes a tin smiths workshop, a clog maker, cheese and dairy, as well as a small mining exhibit. Out in the railway carriage is more small exhibits on schools, and community life.
Good for an hour on a wet day in Hawes.
You get part of your carparking refunded for your entry fee.
Small café on site.

It's a really great place to visit

Fascinating mill with masses to see and learn. Staffed by very knowledgeable volunteers. Our guide was relatively new but was excellent, knew everything about the mill and more. Well worth £5.

Wonderful visit. Only open on a Thursday. Tour costs £5 and we spent 2 hrs listening and asking questions. Being restored by small group of volunteers who have done a lot of work but still have a lot to do. Very deserving project.
