a place to play or watch baseball & softball plus tennis courts across street on the campus of LSUS
Great Small Town Stadium. Easy location to find, ample parking. Prices are reasonable. Take cash, in case the internet goes down. Enjoy the Game! 😊
Paying to park was way too high, with no security. No shuttle service for the disabled or handicapped accommodations, forced to walk a long way to the stadium. The Security were not visible walking up to the stadium, the man selling bootlegged shirts was very aggressive, ticket scalpers were also aggressive with police standing by doing nothing. Security was a joke, not even stopping people vaping or smoking, eventhough the P.A. was blaring that security would address this. Will not likely be back next year.
Independence Bowl 2023 was a lot of fun. The Fairfield Magnet Cheerleaders performed and we enjoyed tailgating and watching Cal and Texas Tech play. It was very cold but we still had a good time.

Cold but otherwise a great time. One warning, was unable to use cellular data during game while standing next to road that borders property. UNABLE to arrange Uber.
Great facility

The facilities at this stadium are absolutely disgusting. The layout is poor, and the stadium is poorly maintained. The parking lot is filled with potholes as well.

Given the reputation of Shreveport, I'd say this venue certainly fits the bill for what you'd expect. However, unsanitary bathrooms, cramped seating, and tight stairways are indicative of a managing staff that's squeezing every last penny from the customer to provide a less than adequate experience.

If you have the ability to influence the bowl games your school attends, consider the Independence Bowl a last resort. The entire facility is a poor facsimile considering the numerous quality stadiums across the U.S.
No gunshots during the game tonight! 🙌
The stadium is surprisingly well taken care of & clean. The parking is horrendous (& obviously the location isn't awesome) but the inside of the stadium is nice.
On a cold rain/sleet night in 1988 Brett Favre and James Henry were on top of their game as USM beat UTEP in the sleet. Henry ran 2 punts back for touchdowns. We had 50 yard line seats.

Nice stadium but it's built in the 1920s and it shows. Needs lots of paint.

Nice field. Has a playground for the Littles. 10 and under get in free as well as any Caddo Parish Baseball players who wear their jerseys. Concessions a bit pricey and not a huge selection. Really enjoyed the game! My son got a foul ball, not only did they let him keep it. Many of the players/coaches signed the ball and some of the players took a picture with my son.

I’m here for a class in the Clubhouse and the place is clean and comfortable. The restrooms are nice and clean and very tidy. It’s a beautiful day and the windows are clean and bright. It’s a pleasure to be here.

Perfect for a baseball field but they do need to straighten the safety net to allow for better vision of the field.

Great ballpark
Nice Skybox. More games need to be played. The seats/bleachers could use a good power washing.

Concessions should give the customers what they are paying for. This is the third time the nachos are cold and with only 12 chips for $5 dollars just don’t sent fair. Hope you do well this season. I won’t be contributing anymore.

Beautiful stadium. The scenery is beautiful too!!! It's kind of hard to get here, it's across the street from the University and behind the Epcot looking building. Look for the stadium lights!!!
Very clean. The concession stand so nice and friendly. Great prices.
Watch semi pro team LA. Tigers 🐯🐯🐯🐯 play the dragons. Great game.

Went here for BYU vs UAB game. I was very disappointed by the stadium and the food provided. The stadium was literally falling apart. It was very dirty and the football field was in terrible quality. The grass was dead and you could see the patches of grass that had been recently been installed. Major renovations need to take place at the stadium.

Very nice lacrosse facility. Nice turf field, well maintained. The lighting at night could be better but overall it's a great facility for the area.

The stadium is beautiful, and facilities are very nice. The students and fans for Capt Shreve are very rude. You would think when hosting a tournament, you would want to be welcoming and provide a good atmosphere with good sportsmanship. However, sadly this was not the case. Male students were harassing the girl players on the field, and we're eventually thrown out by the referee. Even the parents mocked the opponents. It really is a shame. We came looking to gain experience for our girls' soccer team and play higher class teams and just hoped to enjoy a soccer tournament.

Enjoy watching the Centenary Gents.
Would have been a better atmosphere if FSU fans cared
Nice stadium but when you type in Messner stadium in Google maps it take you to Loyola prep on Jordan St.. which is incorrect
The field has a new scoreboard and other improvements, and Centenary sports nearly always have free admission!

A friend invited me to come with her to watch her son perform in the band. She was ill, so much so that I was somewhat surprised to hear she still wanted to go. She was feeling terrible and we arrived late, but she really wanted to support her son. We got there a few minutes before the end of the 3rd quarter, and although the game was 3/4 over, we would have gladly paid the full entry price, because it's not that much anyway and we wanted to support her son's high school. Although all of the ticket staff were still there standing around doing nothing, it wasn't especially surprising to learn the stadium had stopped selling tickets, because there was only 1 quarter left in the game, and sometimes it seems like no one wants to work anymore. However, what was very surprising, and difficult to understand, was that once ticket sales are over, no one is allowed to enter the stadium for any reason. Although all of the same staff, guards, and scanning equipment that are there when tickets are being sold, were still present and could have easily been used to allow a single mother and her guest, who were willing and would ha e been glad to pay full price, to enter the stadium so she could watch her only son perform in his high school band, there was nothing we could do, they weren't interested in anything we had to say, and we were denied access to the stadium by disinterested uncaring people.
