Won’t be going back. No one at cash- it’s all self checkout except one till except there wasn’t an employee at the till. The lady at the door has to call someone up to cash me out bcs I won’t use self checkout if there’s other options. Waited 5 minutes. Then the door lady finally jumped on the till herself and started to check me out, only to sign back out half way through my stuff (8 items- almost all thread) so the other till lady could sign back in to the computer and check me out. Hate self checkouts- those should be jobs for people.
I found what I was looking for quick. Was given good direction for other things. All the staff were very kind and helpful
Clean store with a lot of crafts and items to choose from. Staff was friendly and checkout was fast and easy with a self serve kiosk.
I would like to share my impression of the exhibition at Maclaren art center in Barrie - Winter 2024.
Degradation of society - this is how the exhibition can be called.
How can you even call this art? The only thing you can look at is Labors of love, and even then many questions arise for the authors.
Overall, where is the understanding of beauty and harmony? Are they really taking us for idiots and calling this art?
I may apologize for such a harsh response but I was insulted. No offense.

Had so much fun at the watercolor winter landscape class with amber! Amber and Heather are so friendly and it's a very cozy and comfy environment to paint in 😊 can't wait to try another class soon! 💕
Just a nice store. Everything the do it your selfer would need Excellent knowledgeable staff. No one pushy I miss a cashier though. They were always pleasant. Now it’s mostly self check out. I know it’s progress but in a store like this the personal touch is nice.
Love this store. Great selection of items. Very clean and organized. Easy to find what you're looking for, but if you can't, the staff are very helpful and happy to help you. I definitely recommend this location for your craft, baking, picture, and art supplies.
Heather and Amber are both amazing, creative talents. They both provide a welcoming environment for their students. I am a retired person who went from drawing stick people to creating art that I now hang on our family’s walls. Heather’s talents also transfer into her knowing just the right frame to enhance art pieces. I cannot say enough of what a wonderful place this is for all who gather there to cultivate their artistry and who want to find a place to feel comfortable.
Had to remind the cashier about a BOGO offer they had as they nearly charged my Mother 100$ for two simple wooden designs. After the offer was applied, which was posted all around the store, plus her senior discount, the total came to 44$.

The Courtyard at the MacLaren is such a beautiful place to host your wedding ceremony! The natural lighting coming in paired with the way you can set it up is great! The staff at the Mac is also amazing and provided perfect service at the wedding I officiated for Joyful Receptions this summer!
I wanted to create a custom gallery wall in my home, and after doing research I came across Creative Palette. I gave Heather a call and she was very pleasant and professional. I enjoyed my experience working with her. It was truly a collaborative effort! She listened to my requirements and helped me select great frames to display my family pictures. If you're looking for custom framing, Creative Palette is the place to go!

Nice and clean location. I was able to easily find what I needed which was some epoxy resin. Despite how much different stuff they had I'm store it was simple to find specifically what I needed and it was well stocked. Prices were quite competitive to other online retailers for the item I needed.
I've never used epoxy before but the lady at the front counter was extremely helpful in giving me a few tips and letting me know what to be careful of.
It was a really pleasant and quick visit but I'd definitely go back to get some other things like paints and brushes next time I need some new ones.

Excellent design, quality, and customer service! Artistic Frameworks did a fantastic job on our group order for framed sports medals; designing three modern options for our team to choose from.
I had a very special graphite drawing of my late pup commissioned and it deserved to go in a great frame. After researching online, I liked what I read about the Creative Palette and so I called Heather. After a short conversation and in our appointment, I knew I wanted Heather to do the framing and that she would take care of my art and it was safe in her hands. Her art experience gives her a unique edge on getting just the right shade of mat and frame so that the picture remains the focus. I am thrilled with the result! Thank You so much Heather for taking care of my picture as if it was your own, as well as for your assistance and compassion.
I tried to apply for a job posted on their website, sent an email with resume and cover letter, went in person also and left a resume. I also called their hiring department and left a message and after 3 months no one even returned my phone call. Their employee at the front desk told me the job posting has been there for more than a year. Maybe they should remove it so people don't waste their time applying or showing up in person. If a manager had at least responded to my messages that would've been respectful considering this isn't a regular grocery store or coffee shop.
Lovely staff. Great art programs downtown and will offer art programs at other locations. Very accomodating. The actively support and offer creative opportunities to youth who may not be able to pay for programs. 💚🌞
We were married here in July 2023. The venue is absolutely gorgeous and doesn't need much in terms of decor. We had a blast! I highly recommend a wedding coordinator because the MacLaren is not a full-service wedding venue; you need to be on top of the planning and coordination yourself, and logistically there are a lot of moving parts on the wedding day. We hired Shannon Hirlehey of All Things Love Events and she was excellent. We were totally able to relax and enjoy the day since everything was under control. I highly recommend getting married at the MacLaren!

We checked this small studio out on a Saturday morning. The ladies at the front desk were super friendly and helpful. If you live in the area it is well worth the visit. There was a juried art show for grade 12 students of simcoe County. The participants art work was awesome and interesting. Thank you for a fine visit and your welcoming staff.

Great selection, custom framing...lots of arts & craft ideas. Yarn, wood items for painting, seasonal items for Valentine's, Easter, Christmas etc... great for kids arts, cricket machine section, canvases, brushes & paints available here as well as sketch pads of different sizes. Ink, pens, pencils & speciality markers. Jewelry makers supplies also sold at this location as well as organizers. Awesome selection! Bright & clean location; employees are nice.
It's always an amazing place to visit and I usually have the gallery to myself new highlights every few months. This visit they gave free tea and Art exhibition books that are perfect for a coffee table.
My 11 yr old daughter absolutely loves these classes. Heather and her associates are wonderful to the children, keeping them inspired and happy. My child's demeanour actually changes while attending - after the class she is calm, contented, and quite obviously 'in the zone'. I am grateful that my girl has such a positive experience to look forward to each week.
I have had a number of prints framed at Creative Palette over the past two years and have loved everyone of them. Heather takes the time to listen to your thoughts and ideas before sharing her professional opinion. She has a great eye for detail and provides quality work in a timely manner and is always willing to work with your timeline. If you need quality framing at a great price you wont go wrong with Creative Palette.
I went to the Creative Palette in hopes that my special piece I painted on canvas could be framed. I knew little about this process and hoped I would get direction and assistance. Heather did not disappoint. Heather new exactly what would compliment my painting and I felt comfortable leaving my special piece with her knowing she would take very good care of it.
The price was on point and would absolutely support local than the chain stores, especially with my special piece.

As a Wedding Vendor - DJ MasterMix we have to say this is an amazing and Beautiful venue that you are your guests can celebrate in your wedding or any celebration. We cant wait to be back celebrating in another wedding here. Staff are also so great to work with.
My daughter and I have been attending art classes with Heather at the Creative Palette for two years now. We find Heather to be an encouraging and helpful instructor. She has a lovely teaching style that encourages individual expression, while offering technical instruction. The projects are creative and beautiful. The environment is comfortable and welcoming.

Such an amazing place. The quality of the exhibits is usually amazing. I enjoy that the curator has a modern, somewhat-conceptual lean. It's a great place for a coffee after you check out the gallery, or just as a break from the downtown area.
