This Michael’s location had the exact frames I needed, and I was provided phenomenal customer service by the lady running the checkout. I had a few questions about their discounts, and she went above and beyond to answer all of my qualms.

At first it seems like a nice vibe, You go inside and it's a little sparse, clean, if a bit pricey. it's an independent spot. You pick out something, Bring it to the front where the owner is, He doesn't stop what he's doing at all to say hello in any kind of meaningful way.. You ask A few questions, The energy is flat, you remain polite. . You're getting the impression this guy likely isn't going to be personable at all. Can't buy the item with my card cus it's under 5$. (Absolutely fair, but where's the signage please?)
Tone that answer was delivered in tho? In general, it just makes you feel unwelcome. Not worth the effort for that 3 extra bucks.
At least be engaging with your customers if you want them to come back. Ask them if its their first time in? Be like. *somewhat* outgoing.
I really don't think distracting yourself for a hundred and twenty seconds from whatever unpressing task you had in front of you to invest in the possibility of having a loyal repeat customer was worth the 120 seconds fidgeting with whatever on the desk.
Won't be coming back for anything dude..

Picture frames is what I use this place for. Also it’s got a great name. There’s plenty of glitter if you need arts and crafts. Whatever holiday is upcoming they’ll have decorations

Was looking for screen printing paints and a lovely young lady with the name tag Nova helped me out. She went out of her way to make sure I found the right paint I needed even though they didn't carry it in this location she showed me which other michaels store could have it. She was also very polite at the check out and overall made my experience very welcoming. 10/10 will be coming to this Michaels Instead of others.

Going in the store proved to be the wrong thing for my day. The cashier was horribly rude and next to impossible to find someone to unlock items. Michael's can be bad service but such a bigger selection. I tried to call and complain and no one answered after many tries. I bet they r out of business soon. Sad. I used to.love that store. Been going for years. I won't be back.

Terrible customer service. Went to pick up a curbside order after receiving confirmation that ir was ready for pick up. Emloyee said it was mot ready to leave and comeback in a couple of hours.

My pick up order was never ready before I left town. I called and they said if I didn’t pick it up in 3 days it would be automatically cancelled. Well today I got an email thanking me for picking up

The old lady at the cashier is extremely rude. I tried explain the issue with my pick up order because they only gave me half of my order. She was not listening and just said I don’t know anything you said. Also tried calling the store before, never pick up the phone. Worst customer service.

Michael's great items that I will buy. Recently, 1I needed help in framing. Waiting for a sales person for a long time. I finally walked up to the front of the store. So much that I've been tempted to leave and come back when I see certain employees there.

Michael's is always fantastic. I could spend days inside and be perfectly happy. On this visit I got my Christmas tree from them and it's beautiful. Staff was patient in helping me decide. I will be coming back 🥰

I was charged for 8 candles yesterday when I only bought 6. I was so upset and stressed out that I didn't even use the ribbon or any other items that I had purchased. I went back in the morning with all the items purchased and my receipt.
I was treated with utmost respect and care, and everything was taken care of in just a few minutes. Kathy, the cashier who worked with me, is amazing! She is professional and positive and just the nicest!! So rather than write about my negative experience yesterday, I want to give a shout-out to Kathy!! THANK YOU, Kathy! You restored my faith in this Michael's store and I hope to see you again when I come back next time. You also brightened my day by treating me with such kindness and care. The world need more people like you. You are a blessing! ❤️

Super friendly staff, well-organized. It's more of a crafts store than an arts store, so not where I'd go for art supplies, but a great place to get iron-on transfers, embroidery supplies, etc.

Took in a painting with cracked glass to repair and they did an excellent job replacing the glass and making it look as good as new! It took about 5 days for the job to be completed and it was a very reasonable price. The staff was great to work with and very pleasant. Recommend this location!

As you can tell from some of my previous reviews I truly do like a craft store. That being said craft stores are kind of fickle when it comes to the employees yes the products may be the same but the experience is different every time because the employees make or break the store and in this case the employees were fantastic very knowledgeable and courteous I appreciate that and it makes me want to be able to shop there more frequently.

I always find what I need at Michael's. Today I needed help finding a mat for a picture I was framing, and I also needed gift bags and muffin cups. I was directed to each, found them quickly, and went home satisfied. Five stars for Michael's!

Not sure why a lot of stores in general in California just don't seem to have stuff. This is a decent sized store but there was no cord for like macrame or like hemp bracelets anything like that. A lot of the beads were gone already. Pricing for the beats is a little expensive unless they're on sale so I wouldn't recommend getting them here. Also the staff is not the most helpful they seem to just kind of let you do your thing and you have to chase them down to you know ask any questions.

Overall a good store. Very clean and well organized. I found everything I needed and the staff were very polite. However, I had so much trouble walking here from the inside of the Mission Valley mall. It's located in such an awkward spot and it's really hidden. You have to go through the product loading area for the Target just to get there. It's a pain, but the store is fine.

This Michaels has gotten better but they still need work. They have self checkout machines and I'm not sure if it's a policy thing or laziness but the cashier's don't want to check people out. They force you to go to the self checkout. I had a bunch of weird shaped objects and didn't want to use the self checkout but was still pressured to go there.

The owner shows up at opening hour. spends half an hour behind the door. then decides to open up the door only to block it off with a chair while he sweeps. Then have a conversation with his neighbor... afterward he heads inside and disappears. Twenty mins later he moves the chair. Guess its open now. Was about to write on his store, but he seems like the type that would throw a hissy fit, and I still wanted my ink.
So yeah, dont ever expect the store to open on time. In fact you'll be lucky if the store is even open when you show up. Not only that there's a good chance that you might not find what you are looking for.

My muralist husband and I have been frequenting Visual for quite a while now, and always find their selection to be excellent. Jason is knowledgeable, friendly, a family man, and always makes us feel like we are visiting an old friend and not a business. Yes, the prices are high, but any experienced artist will understand that quality traditional art supplies come at a premium, and you will not find any cheap supplies at Visual. The adjoining gallery is bright and welcoming, and features a rotating selection of lowbrow art for sale at reasonable prices for interested collectors. Free stickers and buttons are also generally offered. Overall, highly recommended.

Complete bait and switch tactics used by employees in the framing department. Went in on a Monday to get a quote for a frame, returned two days later and the quote that supposedly would be honored indefinitely more than doubled to over $1,200! I expressed my frustration to the manager, Nick, and although he stated he would apply a discount to the original price I was quoted, he went back on his word and failed to honor his commitment. The staff was equally unpleasant to work with. Danielle, who also works in the framing department, demonstrated the absolute worst customer service I have ever experienced. Not helpful, and certainly bothered by answering questions regarding framing. I have been a customer of Michaels and Aaron Brothers for the better half of 15 years but it is clear that pice gouging and immense profit at the expense of customer service is all that is important to those working here.

We brought a piece created by my husband’s great grandfather that holds a lot of sentimental value. The piece was in an old broken frame and needed an update. The folks at the frame maker helped me to choose some good options for updating the frame. They also made sure to preserve the original label from a retrospective found on the back of the artwork. We were really happy with the results! We highly recommend this place for high quality framing.

At the entrance to this store, there is a section devoted to upcoming holidays and celebrations - and these items give me gifts and decorating ideas. The main reason I go to this store is to use the Framing Department. I get custom mattes for my photographs. These items go to my clients or are used in photo contests, and I am always pleased with their work.

Fabulous huge selections of frames in all price ranges. Some so unique that I haven't seen them anywhere else. Beautiful work doing the mounting. Tom worked with me for a long time till we got the frame and mat selection just right. So pleased with my finished works!

I have been going to the frame station for literally decades. I have a revolving and expanding collection of art. These folks are professional and do museum quality work. Their eye for what frame/mat combination works with a piece is far more diserning than mine, and I always have confidence it will be perfect and beautiful when I pick it up.

In an effort to support local business in my new community I decided to walk the 10 blocks to this store rather than the easily accessible Michaels near my place. I checked the business hours, Sundays 12-5 and was on my way. Upon arrival the door was locked with no one inside, the same business hours posted on the door as online. So I called twice, leaving a message with my name, number and a request for a call back in order to make my purchase another time. A week went by, no call back. I found myself in the area with my roommate so I decided to stop in again. I believe Jared is the name of the owner and who we came in the door to. I asked if he was the owner “depends on who wants to know” he sharply replied. I asked him if he had gotten my call last weekend, he said yes. Long pause....Asked why he didn’t feel inclined to call back or make an effort to reach out in any way. He said if I would have waited longer outside I could have gotten my supplies because he was “just in the back.” How long was I supposed to wait outside for??? We exchanged a few more argumentative words that aren’t worth typing before my roommate and I eventually left, looking each other dumbfounded. It wasn’t the fact I had to go back a second time but the gross attitude and lack of rationale and respect the owner displayed that I can’t handle. A shame because it looks like a nice shop with a great selection, but that isn’t the way to run a business.

Very expensive place to get your stuff framed. Mine had a longer turn around probably because of the holidays but still it was almost a month. The employees are helpful and courteousand there is a huge selection of frames but the lack of parking and slow turnaround makes it not worth the price for me.

I went to Tom to have one of my paintings re-stretched and when it was done (and it was done very fast) it looked like a new painting. I am so pleased and recommend Frame Maker to anyone who wants to re-stretch or frame a painting. They do great work and I plan on going back with more paintings...

I always go to The Frame Maker. I've taken several pieces there and every time, the gentleman I've worked with is wonderful: he examines the work I've brought in to frame and offers thoughtful suggestions as to how best to mount and frame it. No pressure, no upgrade nonsense, just honest advice and up front pricing. I've always been incredibly happy with the results which is why I go back over and over again.

Came in on Monday June 13 2016. Great shop, small, lots of art, and paints. The guy who was at the shop (owner?) Was extremely helpful, really nice, and knew his stuff. Will be going back in the future! Rather go here than a corporate arts store any day of the week!
