Went for a hands-on cooking class. Phenomenal! Hostess and culinary diva Jamelah was great! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. Great venue for this to take place in. I am definitely interested in finding other opportunities and reasons to attend Mark Arts!
This is an incredible art center! I’ve enjoyed all the classes I have take here. The instructors are professional and well known, amazing artists. They have community art events that are always interesting. It’s extremely clean and everyone is friendly. They rotate displays every month or every two weeks so there is always new and unique artwork to see. I am so glad that we are able to have a nice establishment to go to as artists and get to know more people in the art community.
The Mark Arts venue was a perfect location to premiere our documentary film. We used the Great Hall for the video screening and the Main Gallery for displays and refreshments. The staff was very helpful in the planning, set up and support of our event. We had a wonderful evening!
Came here to see the art galleries and were very happy. The staff was friendly and even gave us a quick tour. At this time one gallery was set up with various art mediums completed by students and another with gallery containing shoe art from students in foster system. The stories were moving and compelling. The grounds were also decorated with sculptures. A very nice place, well worth checking out, and free.
They also offer classes (art, culinary, media, etc.) and the prices seemed reasonable (it looked like $40 on average).

Great place to experience the Arts or learn about the Arts. Lots of times when they have events there's live music and everyone has a wonderful time. No dress code just come as you are and enjoy meeting new people and try something new.
During the summer I came to City Arts to try their Glass Fusing class and ended up taking a total of three classes back to back. I learned something new and had fun. There is no right or wrong way to fuse glass and create art. It is a great way to relax and meet new people. Everyone is nice and helpful. They have day classes and night classes, weekdays or weekends and not just Glass Fusing but other arts too! Classes for kids as well as adults. Check it out! You never know what talent you might discover you have.
Great fun at their event last night. The sculpture tour got us out exploring Old Town. We submitted photos for their photo contest. It was fun. Also enjoyed their local artist art show and as always, had to buy something from their gift shop.
This is a place where you learn how to make art. Just an incredible amount of mediums that you can learn in this one building. I have found the class prices to be reasonable and in line with with other instructional places. You can do everything from learning how to paint to blow glass or silver smithing. I highly recommend. They also do 1st Friday where you can visit for free later at night. The building is free everyday for the current exhibit.
The Holiday Tables annual tradition hosted by Designing Women to benefit Mark Arts is such a special event! The decorated holiday tables are fabulous and the atmosphere, complete with LIVE pianist, is a joyful touch. Remember to visit the bake sale, vendor booths, and vote on your favorite table. My vote in 2021 was the 🇺🇸”I’ll Be Home For Christmas” 🇺🇸table scape, buffet, and tree! 🇺🇸 We hope our reviews give you an idea of what it is like to live, work, and play in Wichita Kansas!
Beautiful building, wonderful exhibits and a broad view of fine art. My first time here was for the grand opening where we not only got to see a varied display of material art throughout the building, but were also treated to the art of dancers performing live for the attendees. I've noticed a few reviews bemoaning the lack of "child friendly" exhibits. If by child friendly they actually mean something your ill-behaved child can rub their sticky hands all over and act out, then no, this is not for you. If you mean edifying works of art that a well behaved child being minded and tended to by respectful parents, then this place is packed full. Enjoy responsibly!
I have been taking a pottery class with Charlotte and love it. Great facilities, awesome teacher and a well rounded group of students make for a fantastic experience. The gallery and small shop is awesome and I am always delighted to see what is new. I recommend this as a downtown shopping stop and of course, the pottery class!
Had a great time walking around and earning our photography badge at the city arts building. We had a large group they were able to accommodate and the girls enjoyed their classroom and outdoor time. We have also been here to see the other exhibits on final Fridays the city host. Great venue for local artist to display their creativity!
Child's birthday party, for most of the kids it was there first time being there as well as mine anyway the instructor I believe itvwas Alicia was Awesome...great with the 14 kids and we had a lot of fun. However the artistic director who's name I can not remember was Extremely Rude and very impatient even snatching out of the kids hands...i feel there was a much better approach that should have been taken, I mean they are 10 years old. I was happy with the class but Will not return in the future and I know it rubbed some of the other parents the wrong way as well
The only class I've taken is glassblowing, and it's great. The instructors are very friendly and patient with beginners. Skilled instructors are also available to assist students at all levels.
I also enjoy walking through the building to view the various and ever-changing gallery displays. I plan on taking pottery soon. Highly recommend City Arts.
