We were on our way to Budgens, when walking past unknowingly, The Gosforth Bakery, when this sensational smell hit us. We couldn't resist but go in. The hot sandwich and cherry chocolate cake we bought were so devine we went back the next morning and bought an entire bag full of goodies!

Gill and the lovely people at Gosforth Bakery are DEFINITELY worth a visit! Or many visits! This is a fantastic place for pies (delicious, very well filled and really tasty), sandwiches (loads of choices, made to order and great value) and cakes (get in quick for a strawberry tart!). They do a brilliant breakfast roll too. Highly recommended! And very jealous that I don’t have a bakery like this on my doorstep.

Gosforth Bakery is The go-to place for pies, pasties, and freshly made sandwiches along the A595. There's normally a queue, which they serve very quickly, so do stop even if it stretches to the road. Then eat your food at one of the tables in their lovely garden with a cold or hot drink; on a sunny day you will be delighted you stopped a while.
There is plenty of parking (and toilets) directly across the road in the village car park, where there are also more benches and tables.
If you like your drystone walls and aubretia, there is a superb example across the road.

Great steak pies, rammed full of meat. Small shop full of workmen queuing out the door. Friendly staff, only downside is that I went to try the meat and potato pies and got quite a shock. They are not what you expect from a northern m&p pie it was full of dark gravy and I found it really strange, not to my liking. I think I'll try the chicken and mushroom next time and stick with the steak. The party was a bit buttery aswell and can be quiet sickly if you have 2 pies.

Friendly, great way to start your day or end it if you've been on nights. Sandwiches breakfast or lunch are excellent. More choices of what bread you want than there are shades of green in the lake district! Desserts are unreal. I've nearly tried them all. Meat and potato pies out the oven are belter. Bacon's always perfect. Bet you are thinking why am I still reading this???

Go there! Then go again. And again...

Pie Heaven, !!! we were staying nearby, and visited the Bakery on our way home to take back some Gorgeous Bakes from Gosforth Bakery .
Homemade to perfection. They taste amazing, top quality ingredients, expertly baked, an absolute treat.
Staff friendly and accommodating, loved the Homemade Local vibe of it all , thank you to all concerned who make this gorgeous produce X
Our stay at Gosforth and the stay was lovely and despite the local shop being expensive my Partner went to the bakery purchase 6 rolls 2 steak pies and 2 Sausage rolls for around Ten pounds. The sausage roll for the price was small at least the pies were over cook and poor in presentation. The only good points they were reasonably tasty. My uncles being bakers I wonder what they would think of this bakery??
