Great coffee with average food. First of all I want to mention that at this place we tasted one of the best coffees in Crete. Flat white and iced latte were perfect. Unfortunatelly the food was just acerage despite good coffee, interior and atmosphere suggested otherwise. We ordered Salty pancakes and one Sweet pancakes. The Salt pancakes are made out of pancakes with not bad cheese sause, egg on top and slices of ham between pancakes. The problem is that ham which is basically grocery store quality (you can see in photos) so overall the whole dish doesnt taste as good as it should because cheap ham ruins it. Then the sweet pancakes it was just pancakes filled with three color nutella nad few berries on top. The problem is that there were three types of melted chocolate, milk, white and strawberry, also strawberry chockolate was between pancakes. It was way too much of chocolate and there were not enough berries on top. It would be so much better to reduce quantity of chocolate and increase quantity of berries aswell as I believe there was cranberry sirup that gave a bit of sourness to contrast with sweetness of the chocolate but there was very little of that sirup (btw those pancakes didnt look pleasant either) overall I can recommend this place for the coffee, but keep in mind of average food at least from brunch section
Really good coffee here, highest quality, very cute staff & nice interior…. It's definitely worth stopping by for good drinks in the evening too, the Paloma was so good I had! Keep it up guys - Efharisto ✌🏼

Very hipster vibe, great coffee and friendly staff. We have eaten here twice now and really enjoy the coffee and brunch. They make the eggs perfectly. Giorgos (George) was also so friendly and helpful. He even helped teach us some Greek. Definitely recommend.
Μικρή αλλά αξιολόγηση καφετέρια στο κέντρο της πόλης! Καταπληκτικός καφές, από της λίγες φορές που δεν έβαλα νερό στον καφέ μιας που ήταν balance σε όλα του! Από οξύτητα κρέμα μέχρι γεύση! Γενικός εχ ι φασαρία αλλά είναι ότι πρέπει για έναν γρήγορο καφέ η για take away. Δοκιμάστε το ψωμάκι χαρουπιού με γαλοπούλα κρέμα τυρί και αγγούρι και θα με θυμηθείτε.. 🙂

The restaurant is nice, the food was good but the portions are a bit small. BUT... it was the first time we didn't tip in a restaurant. we asked the ponytailed waitress several times if we could sit outside if something became available. She agreed, but gave a seat to all guests who also wanted to sit outside and came AFTER us. She hardly noticed us. I would like to point out that we were seated at the entrance, so she could have not missed us.
The service took ages. I managed to finish my dish while my partner didn't even receive hers. Took 40 minutes to make eggs benedict. The food was nice, but the amount of time we had to spend was too long.
Amazing coffee!! We got water and some amazing pastries for free. People here were extremely nice :) Would always recommend!! War echt Gurke!!!

Had breakfast here almost every day of our holiday. Felt very welcome because of the lady who owns the place. Definitely a place we'll remember!
Hands down best coffee shop in town. If you're looking for something more international then this place will sort you out nicely. Laptop friendly. Good range of vegetarian and vegan options too and the desserts were super good.
Delicious food and friendly staff. I like that they have the names of the pastry in English so it's easier for the tourists.
First of all, the portions are Texas sized. The deserts are all made fresh right in front of you and i recommend that you really bring a couple of extra shots of insulin with you..
A modern, yet very welcoming all-day spot. One of your best choices for brunch in the city. Nice outdoors ambience, opposite the city cathedral. Pick a table preferably under the giant ficus. Simple dishes with very good ingredients. Try the "strapatsada" (scrambled eggs) with mizithra cheese and sour bread. Friendly and swift service, reasonable prices.

This is a lovely little café, just off the roadside with a lovely view out over the chuch and a great spot to watch the world go by.

Very nice location, directly at the harbour of Heraklion. Great coffee, delicious and varied breakfast in a beautiful ambience. And of course the usual Greek friendliness.
Went there for brunch. Good food, (great coffee), friendly service and nice place. I recommend it.
We had a wonderful experience at Samaria Delizioso after a very hot visit at Knossos ! The place was not crowded, mostly populated by locals. The fresh orange juices were incredible. The service was impeccable, both of the ladies that greeted us were very kind and welcoming. They even gave us some treats for free !

Loved the pancakes and the specialty coffee. The area was also super nice between some other restaurants, close to the city center of Heraklion.
Nice place. It is easy food and a helpful staff. But very loud music, makes it hard to have a conversation while eating or waiting for food. Almost have to scream. Like when tou are partying.
The food was fantastic and the atmosphere was amazing. I went right when they opened on a Sunday and it was just me and one other person here. I had the eggs on pancake and it was fantastic, savory and delicious. I really recommend it!
Just a nice cafe with good shisha and good (fast) food. No authentic greek food, but a overall a great place to end the day. Nice drinks, good shisha and it's open untill there are no customers anymore.
A very dangerous place for tourists, two boys spy and invent traffic accidents like a tourist hitting a cat, in order to get some money
Despite the high reviews my experience at Arch Coffee and Food was very disappointing.

I ate few bites of the dishes and left it. I was not satisfied with the food.
Unfortunately the waiters didn’t respond to this as they saw that our plates were still full. Maybe because their English language was below average and that’s completely fine. But seeing that the dishes are barely eaten I would consider some kind of interaction and customer friendliness.

Food was good. Burger a little bland. Overall nice little spot to go to!! If u find parking and the place being kinda tucked away. We had truffle burger and chicken wrap, choc pancakes, Margherita pizza.
Easily the best brunch/coffee spot in here. Waiters are super nice, especially the man. Food is really nice, highly recommend it !

I was drawn to the shop by the beautiful pastries in the case. After being greeted warmly (and letting the woman know I only understand a little Greek) I was treated to sesame cookies just out of the oven that were lovely. We also bought a sweet vanilla cheese puff that was very good. They had many hand pies including one with olives, tomato, tomatoes, and capers. They also served gelato. I wanted to buy one of everything due to the kindness and smiles of the woman that helped me (possibly the owner) and the quality of what I did try.
Newscafe is a really nice place in the heraklion market.

My favorite place in all of Greece!! Wonderful lady working at the front. The food was delicious, so soft and fresh. Best service, best pastries, best price. I highly recommend.

The cold brew coffee was delicious. Staff friendly and helpful. Our hotel gave us a discount voucher which was appreciated. Sit inside to avoid the smokers.

Amazing brunch in this coffee shop right next to the church. The service, the food and the vibe are immaculate. Everything was great from start to finish! I will definitely come back to try more things on the menu

Completely unassuming place with nearly zero decoration inside and a more scenic outside, yet the food was a very pleasant surprise. Really tasty Italian dishes in large portions for a bargain price.

We had to stay over night in Heraklion, because our flight was cancelled. That gave us the opportunity to have breakfast the next morning at Crop. First of all the staff was very upbeat and friendly. The breakfast was wonderful and delicious. You can sit outside close to a little garden. The pancakes were my favourite and the porridge is fantastic as well. Thanks for a relaxed morning. <3

We came to News Cafe in the evening for Shisha and drinks. The waitress there was really lovely and made some great wine recommendations.
So I'm only giving my review to the bar staff since my husband and I went straight to the bar seating since he tends to think we get seating faster there. In this case we did and I only think it was because we were out early, which means 8pm. I was on a hunt for a specific drink that is made with Mastika, which I have previously visited other places showcasing a "mixologist". I ordered a Bar Spoon, I swear after a hot day sweating from hiking or even shopping and carrying those bags. You are going to love this drink, it was perfection. Plus like the signature drink name, it comes with a frozen delicious spoon of vanilla🥰🙄🤤. Oh, if anyone was wondering what my husband ordered, he got an Alpa beer(it was good) 😁. Music, atmosphere, staff were great and attentive. 💋

A great cappuccino and maybe the best donut I've ever had... And I've had too many.
Situated right on the harbour it’s a great place for a drink with views of the moored boats and the Rocca a Mare Fortress which is a restored 16th century fort that overlooks the harbour. You can walk around outside for free but to go inside you need to pay.
We got to the cafe at 9:00 hungry for breakfast and told that no food is served until 11:00, despite they have a breakfast menu!! Go figure!
This was quite annoying as we had paid 3 euro to park the car. Otherwise I would have given 4 stars. The toilets also not good but this is typical in Greece.

This cafe is situated at probably the best location in Heraklion with view of the Venetian harbor and the Koule fortress.
These last years there have been major improvement is all aspects, renovation, new stuff and new menu!
I have had dinner there twice lately and have enjoyed it.

Extremely friendly staff, delicious food, and WONDERFUL prices! A local place with friendly, jolly locals. Everyday, they have new specialties! We went here three times during our three night stay in Heraklion. Pictures is the delicious chocolate baklava, (it's in the freezer section!)
Great cafe and bar in Heraklion. It's near the lion square at the heart of Heraklion. I love their freddo cappuccino. And the whiskey sour I tried was amazing. I always visit this place each time I'm in Heraklion. I highly recommend it if you're in Heraklion too. Prices are great too.

Charming cafe in a calm area and relaxed environment. The staff is friendly and the food delicious! We enjoyed their cold brew coffee and brunch. If you want to get away from the busy tourist sites, this is a spot to be.

I like the way how they serve coffee with a cute bottle + notes about their coffee bean. The best coffee we had in Greece. highly recommend you to try Ethiopia coffee. i also buy a package of coffee beans after testing. the service is sweet too!!!

Second time: they said second time should be a charmer, but we had a surprise. Within one week, the whole menu got an inflation, everything we had before were more expensive suddenly. But the cafe is still jam packed! I have ordered an omelette which comes with a muffin and I want to change it as a cheesecake instead. They were so nice to change for me, but here is what I’ve got (nothing looks like a cheesecake, and the eclair is salty?) This is a bit strange for me.
Hence if you come, prepared for a little surprise of your own!

Lovely place but unfortunately they allow certain people to smoke inside of the restaurant (even though there is a sign saying smoking is not allowed). Sad that even to this date people do not respect simple rules like this. Second hand smoking (meaning, breathing the smoke from other people who smoke cigarettes) still causes a great number of lung cancer in people and therefore deaths. Very unfortunate for a place with great potential.
This place its great and the service its great. However, there was one important person (perhaps the owner) who was allowed to smoke inside. He didn't care and he was smoking right next to sign that said not smoking allowed. :(

If you come here you won't leave disappointed or unhappy, I came tonight with my boyfriend and his parents and we had 2 savoury crepes and 2 crepes for dessert with chocolate and strawberries. I couldn't have asked for any better. Delicious food and quick service. I enjoyed very much. The staff are very friendly too. Great kafeteria!!

I went yesterday with a friend of mine and ate a chicken club a salad and this waffle. Also bought two profiteroles for later, which are the best. Loved it. Next time I visit Crete, I will absolutely go again. Thank you also to their service people for making us feel so welcome. Amazing work guys. Keep up

The view from outside is outstanding. I won’t deny that the prices are high and the service could be friendlier, but this is the most touristy street in Heraklion.
Coffee is good and the view is definitely worth it. Go in the morning to avoid the crowds and get the most out of your experience.

Superb coffee, great music on the stereo. Staff are really pleasant and welcoming. Great menu for new nibbles. I like to sit upstairs on the sofas when they are free. Outside you have a nice pedestrian street overlooking a church and a square. The internet is super fast and reliable for Greece which is why I like to come here and work.
Perfect place to enjoy one of the best coffees I have ever tasted! The decoration is very nice and the staff is super friendly. They celebrate the preparation of coffee. At our second visit we were already recognized and had a quick chat with the barista. The place is very frequented by the locals and always busy. Even though, the staff takes the time to make you feel comfortable. A must try if you visit Heraklion!
Perfect location in the centre of Heraklion to sit and enjoy the view with some food and a drink. Talking of which, excellent food, large portions, great taste and low prices all make this a super restaurant. Homemade lemonade was particularly delicious.
