I stopped here for coffee and toastie with my young daughter. While the staff were friendly and the coffee was great, the vibe of the place was a bit haphazard and outdated. Toastie also had a weird taste - maybe from using old avocado.

What is the ugly stringy item hanging across the customer side of the coffee machine? It is most off-putting and looks grimy.
Very friendly local coffee shop. Great coffee, cake selection includes some gluten free options. Also the chance to purchase locally hand made goods, plants and honey. Service is always friendly and prompt. We sometimes sit outside with our dog.
Great little local Cafe! Friendly staff, great outlook and atmosphere! Do yourself a Flavour, and check them out for coffee, breakfast or lunch.

The waitress we had wasn’t the friendliest, she was straight to the point. Although our food and drinks came out pretty quickly despite it being busy. The food and view was really amazing! Seemed to be a hidden gem!

It's a good cafe to take a rest after walking in the sea. There is a comfortable atmosphere and friendly staff.

I haven't been here before and I was interested in the red velvet latte advertised. I had creamy thoughts of red velvet cake as a coffee. So once waiting in line was over I asked about said coffee. The young man at the til didn't know but asked the boss lady. She turned and said it was "beetroot", I must have looked shocked as she repeated it again with no follow up descriptors, like "no taste like". I now had a muddy veggie flavour running about my mouth, totally put off I ask for a cappacino.

Finished a hike from Sugarloaf and was looking for a place for lunch. A pleasant surprise, this local coffeeshop (literally named that) serves tasty burgers and a good cup of coffee. A nice cosy place to meet and chat. Reasonably priced.

Staff were pleasant and very polite, and coffee arrived extremely hot as requested.
Even though they were very busy.
Free Lindt chocolates were a nice touch for fathers day.

Funky vibe. Lots of space and seating. Great coffee- strong brew. Ordered a scrambled egg & bacon toastie. Bacon was nice, as were the eggs. Bread needed to be toasted for my liking though. Very courteous service. Clean environment.

Great looking out over the ocean!
Ordered my usual Carrot Cake and Soy Mocha. 😆
This venue is very busy. Glad I came when the rain was out, cause when it stopped the place got packed!
Don't expect to walk in and get a seat, you MUST book in advance, even for a coffee. I was lucky to arrive before most booking times.
To the food and drinks:

Carrot Cake:
Finally a carrot cake with real cream cheese icing! Legit, with some seeds and dried apricot pieces. The base was nice, little moist. Probably could have done with some spice to give it a lift. Overall happy to get this massive slice! Good value for money.
4.5/5 ⭐

Soy Mocha:
The coffee was smooth and came across as a more fruity blend. Definetely not a bold roast like I am used to. Honestly tasted like a cappuccino, not alot of chocolate taste. Still nice overall.
4.0/5

The scenery was the main drawcard for me. Stunning views at the outside bench over looking the coast.

Overall rating 4.2/5 ⭐

I will be back to try a breakfast with my wife.. ☺️👍

I've been to this coffee house a couple of times, but today was the first time I actually felt welcome. The waitress that served me was friendly and took the time to answer my questions about a meal I was requesting. I think her name is Jasmine - but I'm not 100% sure. I work at the shop across the Mall, so am at the Centre a lot - will definitely be back when I see she is working.

Bill and the team do not disappoint. This place really is as it's title suggests - your local coffee shop, where the employees know your name. My family have been coming here since the place opened.. they make great quality, tasty food and drinks at very reasonable prices. The loyalty program is a real bonus too and the coffee beans they sell are top notch. It's not the Ritz (it's not meant to be) but it's bloody good!

Heading to Hallett cove and stopped by for a quick breakfast. Coffee was great. Hands down for it's smash avo – simple but delicious! When you have the freshest avocado and perfectly poached free range eggs locally sourced, you do not need to overload it with extras. Highly recommend.
Nothing was too much trouble. They prepared a rather challenging breakfast roll with very fresh and tasty ingredients. Thanks for the great Sunday morning experience.

Not impressed with my ordered food. I ordered fish and chips and paid $16 to be given what would best be described as 2 overgrown fish fingers with majority of that being batter. I dug around and couldn't find the fish. Having said that the chips were tasty. Nice views. The smothies were rather nice.

We came to the Boatshed Cafe at Hallett Cove after a long drive and had already had an early dinner but wanted to have something else to eat. Most of the scones etc looked too sweet but there were some savoury scones that looked good and we were served them warmed up with some butter on the side to add. I have taken one star off because the toilets weren't up to scratch.
My partner and I had a magnificent breakfast here.
Staff were very welcoming and hospitable.
Will eat here again and would highly recommend this place!

Good, classic cafe food with great coffee.
The Local Coffee shop has been a wonderful addition to our local community. The food and drinks are always fantastic and well priced and the service is welcoming and knowledgeable. The Team went above and beyond during the pandemic to help out locals in need of a fix that couldn't leave due to lockdowns. The themed event nights have also been excellent! Thanks to Bill and the Team!

Lovely cafe/restaurant at the end of a big walk! There are seats facing straight out to sunset which is lovely. Order before 8 as I nearly didn't get served- very happy I did though! I very much enjoyed my meal. And sparkling water via the bottle is a nice bonus!

Got Eggs Benedict with bacon + extra bacon.
The extra 2 slices of bacon was $5 more.
They put more spinach than bacon on, super overpowering especially when i asked for no spinach.
This meal cost me $27
The OJ might say impressed, but i am certainly not.
Did not taste very nice. Bread was soggy, too much hollandaise sauce too. I regret coming here.

I should have gone to Cafè Desto around the corner instead as they are much better!
Can’t believe I didn’t stop in here sooner! Often drive or ride past and then my daughter wanted to take me here expressing that the guys are SO nice! She described the atmosphere in this Cafe as tho walking into a big hug 💖 It’s in a great location, across the road from Hallett Cove train station with parking. Bill & Bruce go above and beyond with their service and hospitality. If you too have been driving by and not yet dropped in, I highly recommend that you do. Good coffee, nice treats and a selection of local crafts, honey and plants for sale. Such a beautiful community vibe here. I’ll definitely be going back again and again!
