I've traveled far and wide, and this spot truly embodies the essence of a hidden treasure. Peter and the delightful Sarah, the owners, are truly remarkable individuals. It's easy to see why one feels an instant connection with this place.

Their generous hospitality keeps us all in good spirits, making us a much happier crowd here in Sydney!

The captivating interior is what caught my eye; I stumbled upon this gem while passing through the lobby on my way back from supporting the local shelter.

Undoubtedly, it's one of the finest discoveries I've made, and I extend heartfelt thanks to Peter and Sarah for their kind welcome. I’m definitely dropping in soon for a good meal.

Fantastic little Cafe and bar tucked away on York lane near Wynyard. Coffee is consistently great. Limited food menu but everything is really fresh and tasty.

I hardly ever leave reviews, especially bad ones. The staff member who served me was extremely racist to my culture and this was out of no where. On top of that he charged me $23.50 for 2 coffees and said "my boss told me to charge you this". I highly recommend against going to this place. I will never be entering again.
Excellent food, great service, the only issue with this place = it's incredibly noisy! Structure of the building.
Still highly recommended

Quietly located within the Sydney Botanic Gardens. Informal dining with surprisingly enjoyable offerings. Numerous bin chickens contribute to the condition (or atmosphere) of the venue. Cardboard containers are used for food. Staff were pleasant and helpful. Perhaps understaffed though, little attention is provided to the outdoor dining space.
Why is it so difficult for the staff to create a welcoming environment? There was no communication, no smiles, not even eye contact. Perhaps they could benefit from additional training to understand that fostering a positive and friendly atmosphere for customers can make their stay enjoyable. Just handing me a buzzer, I had to go back and forth multiple times to collect all the food and drinks I had ordered for myself and my kids. With that type of attitude, it just ruined my Sunday morning.
Great for walks and picnics. Good views to the Opera House across the harbour

What a cute funky bar 🍸 YOLO has been on my list for some time. Jam packed with happy customers and it is unique hole in the wall kind of a place. The owner must love bicycles. I was only here for a drink (my cocktail was on sweeter side than expected). The draft beer (Orion) was nice light beer for summer.
Beautiful cafe at such a peaceful location where you can sit by the beach or garden and enjoy your meal.

I ordered a crunchy chicken pea, cauliflower salad which was yummy and wholesome. Service was quick.
The cool kids and the grandmas all know that York Lane Cafe is a special place in the Sydney CBD. Great food (waffles are amazing) drinks and coffee (go the magic). Awesome vibes and friendly staff, make this little bit of Melbourne in Sydney a winner any time of day. I'll be back.

Super awesome hidden small cafe/bar. Located down a back alley, this sunken cafe has a cycling flavour with cinelli caps lining one wall. Excellent coffee, good food. Not cheap but worth it.

I visited on a relatively quiet Saturday and found myself underwhelmed from the start. After placing my order for both coffee and food, I was handed a table buzzer. However, when the buzzer eventually sounded, it was only my coffee that awaited me, served in a takeaway cup. Inquiring about the missing meal, I was met with a dismissive response from the barista, who promptly slammed the buzzer onto the counter, instructing me to return to my table and wait for my food.

Observing the café staff, they appeared to be primarily capable of serving coffee and little else. Regrettably, the coffee I received was marred by the unpleasant taste of burnt milk. Despite understanding that the steep price of $34.50 was likely attributed to the prime location, my dining experience took a rapid downturn. My attempt to secure an outdoor table was thwarted by an audacious ibis bird that hopped onto my table, helping itself to my meal. Consequently, I relocated indoors, only to find tables in a state of disarray, adorned with remnants of rubbish and food.

Meanwhile, two café staff members, now idle, seemed absorbed in their phones, while individuals resembling managers emerged from the kitchen, indulging in fries and casual conversation with their unenthusiastic colleagues. The brazen ibis bird, which had earlier pilfered from my lunch plate, somehow infiltrated the interior without challenge. A manager stood idly by as the bird made itself at home, resulting in a surreal and unsavory spectacle. The restroom facilities were also found wanting, with a lack of toilet paper and hand towels, mirroring the café's overall neglect.

While I appreciate that dining in the Botanical Gardens may invite the occasional visit from wildlife, other gardens in Sydney boast superior measures to prevent animal intrusion. My overall experience left me thoroughly disappointed.
I think this is my favorite cafe I’ve ever been to. They have an amazing menu, that I wasn’t sure what to try first. The staff is very patient and kind. The decor is stunning with plants everywhere, mismatch chairs and tables, and just all around great aesthetic. I have been here twice already. Got: Vietnamese drip coffee, iced coffee with ice cream, almond croissant, summer haze drink, spring roll meal, and I think it was pork noodle soup. Everything was so delicious and I recommend all of it.

A nice outdoor setting in the botanical gardens. Perfect pit stop for a drink or a quick nibble or sandwich.

We had the poke bowl with chicken, cheese & tomato toastie and juice and price was more than $50. Price is exorbitant however area is nice. Limited selection on the menu. Would’ve been great if they had proper meals as the setting is perfect for it.

It was quite packed when we visited at about 11:30am or so. Wasn’t too organised, it could’ve been managed better.
