Lovely little castle run by the community. Dressed as if the past owners were there...very interesting links to fashion ivons of the twenties. Also lovely graffiti from when it was a garrison.
Absolutely charming place! And Doreen made it the highlight of our Scotland trip with her 1h guided tour through this magic place. The castle is fully furnished and you expect the Laird to step into the dining room any minute. The castle is run by the villagers of Braemar, everyone is a volunteer to keep this place running. Best 12 pounds we spent on our trip to the Highlands! Thank you 🙏

Enjoyable tour by myself of Castle and then a wonderful walk to the village of Braemar through the woods and back. The castle attendant described the pathway through the woods to me so I would have an enjoyable hike to the village.

Nice that the castle is run by the local community. No need to book in advance. They provide text or audio tour descriptions and even have photo scavenger hunt for kids.

Fantastic to see the castle looking so great! I've often passed by, but this time I had the opportunity to stop and visit. As the castle is independently run by members of the local community, it is wonderfully free of the various intrusive signs and banners you usually see at these types of properties, which makes for great photos and all-round a more pleasant experience. We wandered around at our own leisure using the handy guide but there were plenty of friendly volunteers on site who I'm sure could have answered any questions we may have had. I highly recommend stopping off here for a visit.

Car parking charge of £3.

It's wss closed by the time of the visit. However, it looks stunning and a well manicured lawn and the hut house. I wish to come back and get the tour.

A lovely castle you can enjoy at your own pace while listening to the audio guide. The rooms have interesting stories behind them and the views are amazing. All the staff were very enthusiastic about the castle.

Beautiful castle with a spooky atmosphere that I personally experienced in room 7. Great friendly staff. A gem for the community who run it.
