Nice little place with well prepared and flavorful food. Staff was extra helpful bringing our take out to us while we walked our dog after a long drive.

The rice side and orange roll were actually really tasty!

My family and I try to eat healthy. In particular, we try to remain true to sourcing local meats, vegetables, and fruits. We also try to observe seasonal foods as that is more natural. We were so thankful to find a chain of restaurants that actually hold up to these principles and have delicious food. Since discovering this gem of the South, we have eaten here multiple times, sometimes multiple times in the same week. I've had steak and rice, which is absolutely delicious. The steak is juicy and flavorful. My wife loves the Buffalo Chicken wraps. No matter what we get, we have never left dissatisfied with our choices.

The restaurant is super nice, good decoration, the food is super delicious! What I loved most was the avocado toast, the coffee was not that hot but very delicious! A very important and unfavorable point for the restaurant is that it does not have a children's changing table in the bathroom… and it really is something that is super necessary and even more so when it is a family place!

Visited on Saturday for Brunch. We sat outside. The weather was perfect. Rachel was our server, and she did an amazing job. This was my first visit to this restaurant, and I will be returning. I did make a reservation. I had to call in though as the site would not allow me to make a reservation for 2 guests.

Absolutely loved this place! Attended a private party in the banquet room and the service was absolutely perfect. We had a large group with people tricking in after work yet they were so accommodating. Our whole table ordered the filet mignon - one of the best steaks I’ve ever had. Tender and moist with great flavor. It was halal per the host arrangements but apparently only chicken & lamb are usually halal. The appetizers were excellent. Best hummus I’ve ever had?! Didn’t know there could be such a difference. Also the shrimp appetizer was great. Dessert was a mango creme Carmel type thing and it was so so good! Loved the decor and ambiance of the main dining area. Beautiful. Taking the family there soon!

Adding that we took the family tonight and it was just as amazing.
The lamb was amazing and my husband had a massive steak for his birthday. Shared by the kids who surprisingly liked it too.
Probably his favorite gift in a long time lol!
Nick was our server and he was fantastic as well!

Simply fantastic! What's not to love? The food is delectable and portions, more than adequate. Service is a step above the rest, and the atmosphere is delightful.

Get off the fence, stop reading reviews, and be on your merry way!

What a wonderful experience and dinner. This was our first time here and what a terrific meal.
We had the lamb chops and lobster ravioli. Just spectacular.
Cocktails were great too.
Only issue was they had the bartender also serving our table, and our table was across the restaurant from the bar.
Give them a try. Loved it.

220 Merrill has consistently been my go-to spot for quality food and a great dining experience. They offer a solid variety of dishes, including some excellent halal options. Whether I’m bringing friends, family, or business clients, it’s always a pleasure to dine here.

Some standout dishes I highly recommend include the Sweet & Spicy Calamari, NY Wagyu Bone-In Steak, Lamb Chops, Truffle Fries, and Brussels Sprouts. The flavors are always on point, and the quality is impeccable.

However, there have been occasional disappointments with the service. Some waitstaff seem to lack enthusiasm and attentiveness, only taking orders and delivering the check with minimal interaction. This detracts from the otherwise enjoyable experience.

On a positive note, Carolyn, one of the waitresses, has consistently impressed me. She explains the menu as if we’re new customers, maintains great energy, and checks in regularly. Her exceptional service always earns her a 20%+ tip.

My suggestion to 220 Merrill’s management is to train all staff to match Carolyn’s level of service. It would elevate the overall dining experience and ensure that every visit is a pleasant one.

Great restaurant with delicious food. Tried their calamari, flatbread, salad, potato soup, burger, truffle fries, shrimp pasta and pasta with the rib meat. Everything was very tasty. The desert was very well presented and it was big enough to feed 6 people. Staff were friendly and attentive. Restaurant has an outside patio.

Upscale fine dining place and always worth it to visit. Great atmosphere, high standard customer service and recent addition to Halal meat is wonderful idea.
Burger is top notch quality, steak also was tender juicy and perfectly cook. best calamari in metro Detroit.

I have been to this restaurant a few times and never had an issue. I loved the atmosphere and the surrounding neighborhood. Today changed some of that. I waited 30 minutes for a table (Busy restaurant…No harm no foul) and I decided to take a seat at the bar when it became available. I ordered a drink and food. The bartender was very pleasant and made sure to give me the WiFi password. As Im waiting for my food, I notice something moving on the bar close to my arm. I looked closer and found a roach. An actual roach. Embarrassed for the establishment I just paid my tab and left. Look…I don’t like disparaging restaurants. It’s a tough business to succeed in. Also…I’m a realist and I know that where ever you have such a concentration of food, you are bound to have vermin. Every restaurant has vermin. You just don’t know as a patron because they use exterminators to keep the problem at bay. I’m not condemning TOAST but I’m just saying that they may need to increase their vermin fighting efforts because if roaches are out in the day time….You have a full blown infestation. I obviously couldn’t eat the food but hey…it looked good. I just didn’t have much of an appetite.

Celebrate a pre-Easter dinner with my family!

We had a reservation for 6 people. Upon making our reservations, it was stressed to be seated all party must be in attendance, will only hold your reservation 5 minutes beyond scheduled time, one ticket only with an automatic 20% gratuity applied.

We were 5 minutes early, they took us to our table immediately. Unfortunately, the table had not been serviced from previous guests. The hostess was embarrassed, but handled that situation quickly. She stepped away and came back with a cleaning crew and employees to set the table along with our waiter in tow.

Bashir was composed and personable. He was an excellent waiter!

The menu selections were not for the faint pockets.

The meatball appetizer was good!

The Filet Mignon, and NY Strip cooked and seasoned perfectly. The Zip sauce added the final seasoning to a well prepared steak. The salmon was served to my son’s liking. The Chicken Parm was really good! I sampled my husband’s meal. The margherita pizza was good per my daughter.

The adult beverages were okay, the bartender needs less mixers and a shot more alcohol. The restaurant is too upscale to have watered down cocktails.

Our dessert came recommended by Bashir. The Tres Leche was delicious!

The restaurant wasn’t too busy during our meal time. By the time we were finished, the restaurant was packed!
Delicious place to have brunch. We had the broccoli bacon omelets and the peanut butter and jelly pancakes. The fried green tomatoes. The lattes are good.

The eclectic style restaurant had an enjoyable atmosphere.

Please know that the lunch menu with salads and soup is only available during the week.

Parking is accessible in a nearby garage. Free parking on the weekends.

I feel conflicted writing this review. I loved the atmosphere from first step in the door. The host/hostess counter looked like a vintage oven. The ambiance was calming and decor felt nostalgic.

The service was good. They were busy on this Wednesday morning so we waited a while before even getting water. But, the food arrived quickly after we ordered and our waitress was friendly.

The guy next to me commented that Toast is know for their omelets so I decided to try the Spicy Cali. The sides were delicious. I really enjoyed the Parmesan grits, the sourdough toast and homemade strawberry jam. The omelet was disappointing. It didn’t taste like the eggs were salted. They were also crusted and dry. A little salt or cooking them in butter could help a lot.

We had a very nice brunch and I would definitely go back, but I would try something else. The menu is extensive so finding a favorite should be easy.

Last minute, I was tasked with finding the perfect place for our Easter brunch. Didn't matter that I was from Pennsylvania. Lol.
I found 220 Merrill and they had 2 reservations left.
Spoiler alert. Everything was perfect.
The staff was professional and very warm. (We thanked them that they worked the Holiday so we could enjoy ours.)
The food? AMAZING! Everything was well portioned and seasoned perfectly.
The bacon, the crispy potatoes, the fluffy eggs and artisan toast, and don't get me started on the shareable red velvet pancakes with cream cheese glaze.
And oh, the decor! Everything was perfect.
Order the Fuzzy Bubbles, it was a delight in and of itself. Run, don't walk if you want the perfect memorable meal.

Nice place with a cool ambiance. Loud music at night with a mixed crowd. Food menu was a little small/weird. I had the Filet and Lamb chops, which were phenomenal. Filet was like slicing through butter.
Most delicious vegan options, most beautiful presentation, most fabulous host and servers, the fluffiest and healthiest bread selection, on top of a well designed interior, stop by and enjoy

Nice facility. It’s a great location for a great meal and food is made with fresh ingredients. My favorite is the chicken, salad and grilled veggies. The cookie with ice cream is a must, delicious and can be shared with 2-3 others.
The best dining experience I had in a long time !
They did an excellent job in every category !
I will patronize this place again

I cannot understand how this establishment has a 4.1 score on Google because my experience on 1/21/24 was absolutely fantastic! I attended a private birthday dinner and our waitress was Shawn. Shawn was so wonderful to our group of 14! She was attentive, funny, informed, and super helpful. Our food.....5 stars! For appetizers we had the octopus salata, grilled harissa shrimp, whipped ricotta with foccacia and the corn fritters. Everyone in our group absolutely smashed the appetizers and had nothing but great comments. We also had the wedge salad (the lardon bacon on the salad was the true star) that was so huge it was almost a meal by itself, as well as the village salad, which again, impressed everyone. Before entrees were brought out we were given orders of French fries to snack on. Let me tell you, those French fries with the roasted garlic aioli....delish! For entrees we had a choice of the Filet Mignon, Grilled Branzino, and the Otto's Farm Half Chicken. I ordered the Filet and it was cooked perfectly to medium rare; the steak was tender and had proper seasoning; the Black Garlic Au Poivre sauce that comes with the Filet really took the flavor profile over the top! I also enjoyed the Potato Lyonnaise that accompanied the meal. My husband ordered the Otto's Farm Half Chicken, and he devoured it! Now typically my husband hates chicken breast meat, but he was converted (just slightly) to a chicken breast lover because the herbs and spices rubbed onto the chicken absolutely penetrated through the chicken breast making it not only juicy, but also richly flavored. I cannot wait to return to Zana again to try some of the many other food options available.

Kudos Zana! And an extra thank you to our waitress Shawn for being such a rockstar!
The smash burger is THE BEST burger I have ever had. It was so juice and full of flavor and cheesy goodness. Truffle fries were great too.

The food cane out fast and hot.
Service was great also. Parking isn't great so choose your time to go wisely since it is only meter parking in the area.

I HAD been dying to try this restaurant. Me and my partner reserved a table for the New Years Eve Pre-fix menu. TL;DR - We both got food poisoning to varying degrees, mine of which was extremely unpleasant. We both ordered the Tiger shrimp fritter and I also had the halibut, which I'm sure is what made my case so much more severe. But onto the food - we were both unfortunately very disappointed. For $130 per person, all of the ingredients used were simple and the dishes lacked flavor. The price point is similar to Adachi in Birmingham, which serves absolutely incredible 5-star dishes using complex cooking methods. Also, this night was meant to be formal, however I noticed the owner walking around in sweatpants and redecorating halfway into the night.
My burning question - why put a microgreen on a dessert?

Stopped in with a friend from out of town for an early dinner and were promptly seated. The food was great as was the service from Alexandra and the restaurant GM, Hunter. Try the Private Jet or one of Hunter's custom cocktails.

Some dishes were absolutely delicious like the steak tartare and the octopus. The rose oysters were ok, I would have preferred that the rose mignonette be on the side instead of on top of every oyster. The branzino was beautifully plated, and although I am sure that it is supposed to be charred, certain parts of it were very dry and inedible. The scallops were cooked well, but the rest of the plate didn’t work for my taste buds. Unfortunately my server was rather inattentive as well (forgetting drinks, passing the table several times without checking in, and he didn’t offer the complimentary bread at any point throughout the meal, despite offering it to the people who sat besides us). The restaurant is very pretty, but unfortunately that was not enough to bring the score higher than a 3.

The food was fantastic, and the service was good. Be prepared to pay 20% gratuity on all parties larger than one see receipt. I had the chicken and waffles, and it was lightly breaded and delicious. The wife had a beet omelet; yes, it sounds weird, but it was flavorful. A minor issue is the restaurant could use a good cleaning; very dusty, and not appealing, and the environment is loud with a full house.

My girlfriends and I dined here yesterday. We were celebrating one of the girl's birthdays. The place is beautifully decorated, and we were seated right in the middle of the restaurant. We started with drinks, but sadly, a lot of ladies didn't enjoy the cocktails. Our server was lovely, though. He took fantastic care of us. The place was super-packed, partially due to it being a Friday night. As the night went on, it got super hot, and the DJ was delayed significantly, so we ended up leaving earlier than planned. All the food was delicious, especially the Tiger Shrimp Reginette, Burrata, and Ribeye. Overall, it was an enjoyable night!

Awesome dog-friendly patio! I had brunch here this past Sunday accompanied by dog. I loved my mimosa paired with the watermelon feta salad! As someone who despises mushrooms, I also love that the truffle fries can be ordered without truffle oil. Parking is easy too since it’s adjacent to the park and I find it easy to park there. Please consider offering espresso martinis!
Urban Cookhouse is a wonderful restaurant. Everything I have had from there has always been fresh and delicious. This is my favorite location to eat at because of the atmosphere and the excellent customer service. I highly recommend this restaurant. You won't be disappointed.
Overrated as far as the food, but staff is outstanding, esp. Miles, our waiter. Husband ordered the burger & though it didn’t come with lettuce & tomato, but did come with onion, he said it was good. But it was a $25 burger( w fries). Not worth it. I had the Date Night Salad. The picture is here? I had taken a couple bites before I thought I should take a picture. Someone put their hand in a bag of salad greens, threw on 3-4 slivers of dates, about 5 small pieces of a hard cheese, and called it a date night salad. It did have a nice dressing I had put on the side. I wouldn’t waste too much time on this date. Fries were very good. As I was finishing my white wine, I noticed something kind of cloudy floating at the bottom, thought it was possibly from the bottom of the bottle, like sediment. Pointed it out to our wonderful waiter, Miles. He apologized, frowned, took it to the man in front who apologized & took it off our bill. Good location but a tad noisy ( April), mediocre food, great staff, interesting location.

Fantastic, fresh, lives up to the "farm to table" claim. The strawberry lemonade is amazing and the half-baked cookie is sinfully good.

The managers are attentive and responsive, wait times are extremely short, prices are very affordable.

It was a nice place to eat. The service was perfect. The food was good. They had great cocktails. If I am ever back here, I would go back.
Nice atmosphere and the inside/ outside seating is very nice. Host and seating was pleasant and fast. Those are the two stars, now into the rest. The food was not at all what I'd hoped. Greasy (and simultaneously dry which was new to me) macaroni, terribly un-seasoned salmon, someone's terrible excuse for succotash, Fried chicken taste like it was "marinated in dish water" to quote my 18yr old son, and the (vegan) burger and artichoke dip were just "ok". At this price point I expected more but maybe the drinks are really good? I hate to leave a review like this but I wanted others from out of town to get an honest opinion from a foodie. I think if you're going for drinks then maybe it would be cool even though from my vantage point there was a lot of ice being served which is one reason I didn't order a cocktail; but I wouldn't eat here again.

OMG!! It’s like going home for a long lunch or early dinner after a short day at work on Friday. Perfect for a girlfriend brunch or intimate lunch with the hubs. I went solo for this first time visit and it impressed on site! I had the lime marinated steak with rice pilaf and salad. It was so good I ate the entire plate!! I NEVER do that!! Atmosphere is happy, bright, open, private, and cozy! Must do a sit down! It’s seriously like I went home and had lunch on the patio. Strawberry 🍓 sangria was perfectly crisp like the fall weather. Strawberry lemonade with half unsweetened tea…. Oh yeah! Definitely a great take away! And the orange sweet rolls… well everybody knows that’s the only reason I went to the place! Love love love ❤️ if I could do double stars I would!

My first time to eat here and I will definitely be back. David Snyder, the Manager and owner, is so friendly and accommodating. He went over and beyond to make sure I was a happy customer. The salads are beautiful; the fruit is fresh! I ordered from home and it was ready in 20 minutes! If you don’t feel like cooking on these hot days pick up a fruit salad or chicken salad from this local restaurant! Buy Local!!
