We were in Manchester for 3 nights and think we ate dinner each night here. Good food, atmosphere was great and the staff was super! Good selection of beers and spirits. Gin selection was very good. Love this place.

Cracking pub near Piccadilly.
Friendly and helpful bar staff.
Comfortable and relaxing pub.
Didn't eat in thete but heard from several its decent.
2 pints under a tenner ( Stella and Fosters).
Recommend.

If you want to watch other teams rather than England, go somewhere else...

We booked a table to watch Spain v Georgia, right after England v Slovakia. After the England's win, Spain v Georgia was in the screens, but not sound at all. Instead there was a live band playing music to celebrate the English win.

I know we are in England, also know that celebrating is cool, but offering a service to watch a match properly and then not doing it is not professional.

Other times all the matches were offered with sound and a good atmosphere, but this time it was just a party with another match on the screen.

We left and went somewhere else to watch it. At least for the Euro 2024, this is not a Sports Bar, it's an England bar, which is ok, but then it should be advertised as such. We won't be going again and will choose another place treating the football atmosphere with more care and respect.

By the way, when leaving, I mentioned the situation to a member of the staff at the door and he just laughed, really respectful and good way to treat customers...

We came in to watch the Euros games on a Saturday night and I have never been treated so rudely and with such utter contempt by any establishment in my life.
We entered Box at around 6pm grabbing a table with a booking placard that read it was finishing at that time, so we were in the clear and to our knowledge the table free.

We stayed on this table for around two hours, ordering food and drinks until a member of staff at 20:57 pulled the placard, revealing another booking for 21:00 from the table and said we had three minutes to leave, with full plates of food infront of us.

The staff offered no alternative and said we had to eat our plated food standing up, which was frankly an outrageous solution, have you tried to eat a full meal stood up with a knife and fork?

When we objected the bouncer was called who took/STOLE our food from and threateningly ejected us.

There is nothing more to this story we were two friends only enjoying quiet conversation with each other. The management took extreme measures that I can only describe as disgusting.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS, THIS ESTABLISHMENT IS RUN BY THUGS AND CROOKS

This place is really nice. They have live music and people are so nice. The only downsides are their expensive drinks. We tried pinacolada and a few beers. All their drinks were too diluted. You wouldn't feel the alcohol kicking in even after a few drinks.

Watched the 1st half of the Champions League Final 2024 after a great day of reasonably priced beer, in the Manchester city centre (unusual for city centre Manchester). Veggie burger and fries, really nice, good selection of beer. Another business for the "visit again) list.

Nice little bar..only popped in for 1 & to catch a bit of the footy.staff were great beer was good & an excellent selection. plenty screens for the footy..done an excellent job with the space they have.

As a Resident nearby I give 1 star ,
I can endure Monday and Friday morning unloading iton beer barrel but not Friday and Saturday night noisy from there .
Honestly I never been there , maybe the food and drink a good but they should control their customer at night . thankyou

First stop after flying into Manchester for a 10-day UK trip after taking the train from the airport to Piccadilly. This is a quick walk from the station if you’re craving a bite and a pint. Rustic boozer with a certain charm. Lots of groups of friends in here enjoying beers and crisps. A warm, convivial spot with equally friendly staff. Everything was great, including the chicken sub I ordered. An impressive array of draft and cask. And man do they pour a good pint of Landlord (they’re a Champion Club member).

I have tried numerous times to resolve the issue experienced with Box via email, but the manager was rude and the area manager has ignored my emails since. It's a shame as I regularly attend the Leeds branch and the staff have always been great. Long story short, went to box shortly before Xmas, juts me and my friend for a quick drink before a meal. Football was on, but we were just wanting a quick drink en route to the restaurant. I went inside to get the drinks whilst my friend made a call. Purchased drinks and found a seat. My friend then rang to say the door staff would not allow him in as the football had restarted?!? Surely some confusion right. Left seat, walked to the door and spoke to the guy inside. Yes of course definitely some confusion. However the doorman was adamant my friend was not to coming in (maybe he took a dislike to the look of him) and the staff inside (two members at the point) trying to reason with him seemed to make him dig his heels in harder. No reason no rationale..pub wasn't packed and people were leaving. So basically I had to leave the two drinks I'd just purchased and leave the venue. Contacted box as I was shocked at the poor customer service (not by the indoor staff) and they are not interested. Seems like they are happy for customers to be treated poorly with no attempt of apology and refund (on principal). I honestly rarely write reviews, but I was so taken a back I thought I should raise the matter with box, only for the them to fail to act and be pretty rude in correspondence. Very disappointed.

Was there for an evening ppv event last night, TVs with live WiFi/net connection had lag and audio issues. Never resolved this though ended up being bearable at the end despite the 1/2 second lag. Pretty ropey set up, very disappointed

Freezing cold, sat with our coats on. Ordered lemon and herb chicken wings because I don't do spicy and they were so spicy. Soft nachos with sloppy tasteless salsa. The only good thing was plenty of TV screens for watching the football.

This was a fantastic pub for drinking, with a flashy design including the lit up slogans on the walls! The counter is stylish and well-presented, manned by friendly staff. Live music was fantastic and seating is comfortable, where I enjoyed a refreshing pint of Coors!

Held a private Christmas work party upstairs at Box for 150 people. From start to finish the customer service was excellent thanks to Abi. From arranging drinks, food and our DJ the night went perfectly. The staff were really thoughtful and attentive. Would definitely come back. Everyone had a great night!

Nice bar with good people

Good place to have a beer and watch a football or rugby match! It can get crowded during a Manchester United or Manchester City match. Food is served here as well.

Really poor. Came to watch the NFL. Watched half of it and they changed the channel and said they couldn’t put the rest of the game on. If you are an NFL fan and want to watch the 6 o’clock game don’t bother! Rubbish

Went to watch a city match with 2 friends who were here visiting it had the best vibes and space, having popped into Walkabout, Director's Box, and the little sports bar up the road, before deciding on this.
Didn't realise they did food too, though I didn't order any.

Great place, lots of screens, good bar staff and the drinks options were good. The library was upstairs and wasn’t really available for quieter pint. I would struggle to be here if I wasn’t able bodied but for me it was fine. They have a promotion on that states that there is £1 off pints after the game, apparently not after this game…. I don’t mind paying the extra but a little notice is better than none. I would go again. ⚓️⚓️⚓️⚓️

Nice sports bar! Totally fun when they have big football matches! Love the setup they have downstairs for viewing the match. Food service was good, decent food. Overall nice experience.

Great place to watch live sport during the day and in the evening but I recommend booking as we turned up on a Saturday morning and everything was booked up. Loads of screens, plenty of drink selection, food, shuffleboard and a nice vibe! 🙌🏼🍻⚽ The live band in the evening and screens to watch the boxing was great!

Came here to take on their GutBuster challenge! We were a bit disappointed to find out it wasn’t the one that BeardMeatsFood took on, but realised the 50 chicken wings in 20 minutes would have to do. A serious struggle for me (only managed 26), but light work for my friend - it was his first challenge and he is now the only person to beat the new one!
The staff were all so friendly, and the food was really delicious too - also, the bar/restaurant itself is so nice - so many cool spots and bar games to play! I highly recommend just for drinks, but take on the challenge if you dare!

Nice sports bar but the bouncer ruined the night. We booked a booth for 7 but turned up with 6. The 7th of our party turned up 45 mins later having previously been at a BBQ and was refused entry. I spoke to the bar staff to assist who went to speak to the bouncer and the was still refused entry. The 7th of our party had not been drinking but was simply refused entry out of principle of us not telling him he was going to be late. The bar staff did not interject into the situation although she could tell that it was unnecessary. The bouncer was incredibly rude and clearly on some sort of power trip. I was perfectly polite and was approached with aggression to the point I thought I was going to be thrown out. Real shame which ruined what was set to be a memorable evening.

Live Football Games to watch and a great atmosphere seemed like a cool place to hang out in Manchester. Had an absolutely brilliant time. Thank You

A nice sports-style bar in the heart of Manchester’s Northern Quarter. Nicely style with plenty of seating over two floors and a good selection of beers. TV screens well located for watching sport.

The staff seem very friendly and efficient (short bar waiting times despite being very busy).

Found this when looking for somewhere to have a quick lunch. Lovely relaxed atmosphere, staff were friendly and the food was delicious. Next time I am near the railway station I will definitely pop in again and I would definitely recommend it.

Awesome little bar with a lovely bar lady. I got the feeling it's non really a kid friendly place but my kids loved it especially the hot chocolate and the lovely lady. It is a sportsbar but we needed a place to warm up and grab a delicious coffee and a chat

Poor quality upkeep of pool tables, not the correct balls either. Over priced food that came with missing ingredients. Staff seemed to not know where things were ie claiming there was only one set of balls when there wasn’t. A manager helped us with our complaint in regards to these issues and he was actually very helpful.

Had a lot of fun, my friend hired out a booth for us to watch the World Cup and nfl at the same time. We ordered lot of amazing food and drink from the friendly bar staff if you love sports or want a lads day/night then this is the place to go

Great Sport's Bar Located on the old Tib street. I visited midweek early afternoon quiet time but i do know this venue does get very busy whenever there's sports on live so if your planning to watch a game especially a Manchester team don't leave it too late to get a table. Bar staff were great and you do get a good vibe about the whole place. It's definitely on my list to call In again soon.

Came across this place after a recommendation from a good friend and i was slightly in owh of the place. From it being pet friendly they do some amazing bites to eat, an who can moan at 50p wings.

The staff were great, greeted us with a smile an made us feel genuinely welcome. I am in love with there back bar which is probably on of the best stocked I've seen in a long while but whatever your fancy I'm sure they'll have something for everyone.

It's quite a cosey venue but don't be fooled by the ground floor as they have a large basement area too with plenty of room, and yes its a sort of sporty bar but not one of the rowdy kind like some chain-bars i could mention. I'n my opinion deffo worth a pass through as you make your way through the city madness!!

A real gem of a bar, went today and think this will now be my go to spot to watch the football. Very nice coffee and ales, and got some bottles of wine to takeaway. Good chatting with the owner, very friendly service. Highly recommend a visit.

The exact location seemed relatively incoherent to me. The bar is precisely located downstairs of the 'Printworks' building. Nevertheless, I reveled my evening there!

I went here with a group of friends for some food. The bar looks amazing and has a great atmosphere. The staff are helpful and friendly.
Toilets are cleaned regularly but are not well maintained (doors don't lock; flushes don't work; taps and hand dryers broken)
The food was awful. I ordered hot dog sliders (supposed to be 3 dogs with different types of topping/flavours) what a got was three pulled pork sliders with coleslaw. All of my friend's meals' looked sparse and no one was enthusiastic about their food.
We also ordered cocktail pitchers at £9.95 each and while the drinks were very tasty, the alcohol was difficult to find.
I would come here again but only if I was refused entry to Mcdonalds and everywhere else had burned down

What a fantastic atmosphere. I have been on a couple of occasions now. Staff remember your choices of drink and even after a few weeks remember your name even though not a regular. I have a feeling this will change. Great wine and music bar. Highly recommended

Nice pub, friendly staff and good food in a great location (not far from the station). Veggie burger available which is good to see. Sports on TV but also good music in background.

Extraordinary Bar to bring in for a 16 ounces and a Game of pool or Table Football. Fantastic bar staff who rushed to serve. Likewise a decent spot to watch sport with the big screen. Splendid worth during that time 12.00pm-7.00pm £2.50 a 16 ounces on chose lagers I had carling which was right on the money. In general I would suggest a visit.

A gem of a place. A real must if you are visiting Manchester; great vibes great atmosphere, great prices, top staff. To sum it up - simply perfect! Can't wait to visit again with the better half!

Want to watch a bit of sport? Then you can't go to wrong with this place. Loads of space and about 1889 televisions in the place. (Ok, maybe a few less)
We managed to pre book a table which they placed right in front of the big screen and we couldn't really complain about the table service.
We had the Bratwurst, which was actually quite nice for what I was expecting.
There are plenty of games to keep you amused as well like pool, table tennis and Shufl. (whatever that is)
If I had to mention any bad things it would be that there seemed to be sand on the floor at one point, the taps in the bathroom were all missing their switches, none of the hand dryers seemed to work and I guess the place can be a bit pricey.

Called in for a quick pint and thoroughly enjoyed the place. Good selection of beers which were reasonably priced. Whilst I didn't get to sample any food from the menu, the choice looked very appetising, so much so I will be going back to give it a try. Still as good as ever.
